The crowd showed their fascination for the animals and music.
Three of Sihons sons flipped across the arena and lit up magical globes, a juggling display that left a tiny gift for the watchers if they caught it before it popped. Common trinkets all.
The young dark-haired lady is impressed with the size of the circus family as well as their performance. "I wonder if we might have lost our dear minstrel to another calling." She says quietly to Exa beside her with an amused smile as her eyes again drift to the quite musical pink tiefling.
The tiefling starts to wonder just how big Sihon's family is, feeling himself start to break a sweat from all this impromptu playing. For the juggling and gifts he sends the song into an almost dizzying rhythm of excitement and joy.
Mavilius realises that there are only three daughters and three sons. They skilfully change their appearances and costumes as the show goes on.
The midnight show is drawing to the end and Sihon pulls out a whip standing in the middle of the arena, Now ladies and gentleman we take part in a battle of will. The wily Lion eager for food and I, the lion tamer. He cracks the whip and the Lion prowls into the ring roaring at the crowd.
Sihon skilfully moves the lion about the obstacles in the arena, jumping from bench to bench.
Hm, just three sons and three daughters, yet the costumes and illusions make it feel like a much larger cast. Clever. As Sihon's voice rises and the lion stalks into the ring, Mavilius attempts a suspenseful harmony, but it feels unnatural. Perhaps knowing about the Animal Friendship potions and how friendly the lion is has spoiled the mystique of this part of the show for him.
"Yes, the thrill, it's why we do it I suppose."The young dark-haired lady says with a small smile. "We'll see what kind of thrills tomorrow will offer us."
Sihon calls his children out for a final curtain call. You receive a standing ovation and a flurry of gold and silver casino chips hit the floor. The girls in their scanty costumes picked them up in baskets.
Here bard, your share of the tips, and he poured 4 gp in silver into Mavilius hands. I never would have thought you'd be able to cope with the different acts. I stand corrected, though your handling of the lion was not up to the rest. How long did Quentin say you were to work with us? Just the opening nights?
Mavilius accepts the silver with a graceful nod, slipping the coins into a pouch at his belt. "Quentin gave me permission to collaborate tonight and again in the morning," he says, brushing a bit of glitter from his sleeve. "I’ll be sure to put more thought into how best to accompany the lion next time. His pacing was harder to anticipate than expected. But it was certainly exhilarating, and I daresay I’ve already learned a thing or two. I appreciate the opportunity."
The ringmaster nods at you. If you can keep up with us you're welcome tomorrow 10 bells. With or without you. With that he turns to his family amid lots of smiles, one of the daughters caught Mavilius eye and winked.
"Of course. 10 sharp." The pink tiefling nods, feigning a shy expression at the trapeze artist's wink. He is more interested in seeing how his comrades enjoyed the show. He approaches them with a proud grin, tail swishing about.
"Well, what did you think?" He remarks, wiping the sweat from his brow. "Haha, it was everything I hoped for! Just the part with the lion needs a bit of work...You can count on me to provide the perfect distraction in the morning, as always."
"Yes, unless you in turn get distracted darling."The young dark-haired lady says with a pout as she steps quite close to the pink tiefling, sweeping away imaginary dust from the charming minstrel's jacket, giving the flirting sister a cold glare. "Exa and I was just wondering if you had perhaps decided to stay on with the circus instead of continuing with our tedious work for the Golden Vault."
Mavilius chuckles softly, the sound warm and teasing as he eyes Delilah’s pointed glare with amused delight, sensing just a flicker of jealousy behind her words. He leans in, tipping his head forward until it's nearly resting on her shoulder, his voice low and playful. "Don’t you worry about that, dear. A simple circus could never distract me from our higher calling...Besides, the tips are still lackluster. It should cover snacks at our party at least." He grins, flashing a golden eye toward Exa.
As the glow of music wears off you turn to the hour candle and see that it is already 1 bell. Time to get back to the Dog and Duck for some sleep, you wanted to be ready for the morning.
The young dark-haired lady feels her cheeks heat as the pink tiefling leans closer, staying like that for a moment before taking a step back, trying to regain her composure. "Yes, ehm, better get back to the Dog and Duck." She says quickly, following Exa although her eyes are drawn to the charming minstrel, giving him a small shy smile.
Mavilius
The pink tiefling can't help chuckling in delight at the baboons' display, his song shifting to a fittingly energetic and primal rhythm.

"He does look very much at home, doesn't he?" Exa agrees with an impressed nod.
She flags down an attendant selling snacks and takes the biggest one they have on offer.
"But I think he'd miss the thrill of our work. There's nothing quite like it."

"We'd never find someone like you to take your place if you decided to stay with the circus," she said with light-hearted relief.
"But I will enjoy the snacks it paid for."
