Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
After his unsuccessful fishing attempt Father Pat starts putting up a tent. He calls out to the rest of the party "does somebody want to give me a hand here?"
"That's okay. I guess we can just have rations. I don't think it's a good month to be eating mollusks anyways,"Folzi says approaching Pat to assist with putting the tent up.
Nicknack grumbles and mumbles to himself as he putters through the rations on the boat, sorting them into long-term carryables and more volatile things that need to be cooked and eaten soon. Engrossed in the work (and because he's three feet tall), Hrain's jibe goes right over his head. After getting things sorted, he calls out, "Looks like it's salt pork and beans and biscuit - if someone has a pot to boil beans in, that is. Otherwise we may have to use Father Pat's helmet!"

"I heard that!" Father Pat yells from where he is putting up the tent - successfully? - with Folzi "and I know where that helmet's been and I would plan on cooking anything in it, if I was you!"
Lyra watches as everyone around her beguns to buzz around busily. Scratching the back of her head, takes another look around. "Anything left you'd need me to help with?"
"You can definitely help me start the fire... the cookfire, that is!" Nicknack grins over to her.

The camp isn't the prettiest but pulling the boat out of the water you've made a fairly decent shelter and meal considering. After settling into it around the fire the party enjoys some down time as the sunsets in the West. Animals of all kinds begin their night song from the nearby forest/jungle behind them encroaching upon the beach. Watch will be a valuable tool tonight.
OOC: watch order? Also ANYTHING anyone wants to do before be start watch needs to be posted ASAP!!

The first watch begins with Nick but without a perception roll to work with I'm going with his passive 13. Nick doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary and watch passes uneventfully.
Hrain takes second watch and notices several lights in the distant near the lighthouse. The lights go back and forth across land or sea he's not absolutely sure at this distant and unfamiliar with the terrain how they're moving but they're there bobbing in the distant. His watch passes without incident. Waking Folzi next the captain and the gnome exchange thoughts on the lights before Hrain turns in for the night.
Folzi's watch seems boring to tge gnome who occasionally reads his book but then an hour into hus shift he sees the lights for himself. Oddly moving in a pattern in the distance back and forth like the human pointed out. Ending hus watch Folzi wakes Pat.
Pat seems too tired to grasp the lights which Folzi points out but tge half-orc fails to see them. He then promptly falls asleep on watch minutes after Folzi himself is snoozing in his bedroll!
Lyra wakes up with a start looking around the camp the fire having died during Pat's neglected watch and begins to build it back but when the sounds of twigs and branches breaking from the treeline near the beach alert her. Peering into the darkness without the fire is hard for the human but noticing the band of armored people coming from the trees is not. Lyra then raises the alarm!

Father Pat realising he has fallen asleep on his watch berates himself "you're no better than a wet behind the ears recruit Old Man. If you can't keep up with the young ones anymore you should go sit in a rocking chair on a porch somewhere!"
"Uhm, guys...?" Lyra slowly rises up, quickly hiding a hand in a pocket with the crystal rod. She positions herself behind the extinguished bonfire and repeatedly tries to wake up the rest of the group, rocking every shoulder she can reach. Her eyes remain on the fixed on the incoming party, however, and her voice grows more and more pressing. "Anyone? We've got compny..."
"What now?" Hrain rolls up and stands ready reaching for sword and shield and looking about to see what Lyra is talking about. "I see, at least they aren't in the company of a dragon.."
