Now that everyone has finally managed to reach or cross the gate, Lyra decides it is time to get the hell out of this mess. She extends the hand that is still holding the little glass ball, the bubbly, green liquid inside now looking a little murky due to the cold that slowly begins to cling to it. "KEEP RUNNING, WE'LL MEET YOU OUTSIDE!" she shouts over the sounds of the battle still erupting around her. Lyra then mutters a short and the potion is pushed away from her palm and directly crushes into the wooden cranking mechanism of the portcullis, almost as if the two were connected by a rubber band. Without looking back, Lyra then grabs Lebenha by the hand and, with another ear-battering roaring, the two vanish on the spot only to appear outside of the camp, a fair distance behind the rest of the party that had gathered outside.
Action:Catapult the dragon fire into the chranking mechanism
Bonus Action:Spending 2 Sorc points to cast Thunder Step and port Lebenha and herself out of the campside for the full 90 ft.
Once they come to a hold outside the camp, Lyra exhales deeply and then turns around to face Lebenha. The cold still reddens her cheecks, and with a big grin she suddenly takes a jump and tightly hugs the elf. "Don't you ever scare me like that again!"With that, Lyra drops down to sit in the snow, determined to not move an inch until the others reach them.
OOC: Here's my issue "Choose one object weighing 1 to 5 pounds within range that isn’t being worn or carried. The object flies in a straight line up to 90 feet in a direction you choose before falling to the ground, stopping early if it impacts against a solid surface. If the object would strike a creature, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the object strikes the target and stops moving. When the object strikes something, the object and what it strikes each take 3d8 bludgeoning damage." The wheel in inside the gatehouse, dragon fire hits the gatehouse after flying 90ft in the air and falling straight down as per the spells description. There's no way to alter it to fit your actions described. Also "The creature must be within 5 feet of you when you cast this spell, and there must be an unoccupied space within 5 feet of your destination space for the creature to appear in; otherwise, the creature is left behind." Leb was no where near the party.
OOC Hrain sent Vihar in, he is still outside the gate himself, Vihar is approximately 60'-80' inside the compound I believe, in fact I think Leb ran past him during her second turn after escaping. After two movement/dashes, how far is Leb still away from the gate?

Leb appears at the South East corner of the Temple 120ft away from the gate.
OOC: To clarify Hrain sent the horse which Leb did not get on. Leb used dash actions with sorcery points to cast/run so she got to the gate but unless you're saying you moved back inside to her and grabbed her, and she's willing, then teleported 90ft into unknown terrain which you could or could not land inside a mountain, tree etc...into an area where non-divine magic may or may not work....
OOC: well damn, i thought we'd gotten to point where it would work. I interpreted it in a way that catapult would send something flying, and that up to 90 ft., not in a straight line up and down again. Not quite sure if thats what you meant, but crushing it into the gatehouse would be totally fine for me, it should still lead to the same result. The part of porting out with Lebenha was based on Frans last post where he stated he should be reaching the gate with his last post. Lyra shouldve been inside of the camp, waiting in front of the portcullis the whole time, where she was waiting to catapult and thunderstep out anyway. Because i was thinking its only possible from the inside anyway...and i was hoping we would have a clear line of sight too, but since all we tried to do for a while now was run, i was thinking Lebenha would be rather happy to be taken along the ride. And since we, according to Frans post, would both be standing in front of the gate, i thought the distance would work too
OOC: Dragon's fire only burns organic material. The gatehouse is stone, slate tile roof. There's nothing organic. The wheel is made if wood. As for Leb never specifying where she came to at the gate 15ft across with you never specifying where you were waiting should be clarified. I want the hero moves too but if the spells are specific then they have to be used accordingly.
OOC: Gatehouse is one side 15ft away from the other side. I get movement is possible. I guess my confusion/problem is thunder step will literally stop working at the gate. The magic will not work beyond the 'compound' limits. I explained how the waste works. As for that I interpret it as up to 90ft not only 90ft. Non-divine magic has limits in the Waste.

OOC: Would you rule, then, that Thunder Step has no effect? Would there be time for them to run past the portcullis before the gatewheel is so damaged that the portcullis comes crashing down?
OOC2: Nicknack is outside the gate, so his Magic Missile wouldn't have worked either.

OOC: that would make for some hilarious roleplaying...Imagine us two disappearing for a heroic escape and then we rematerialize...in the same space as before..now trappedwithin the camp
OOC: Destroy the portcullis is possible but trying to Indiana Jones style escape it as it falls is going to take some serious DEX rolls like acrobatics etc..

OOC: Yup. ALL magic users feel a general lack of magic. I was going to get to it after the escape because I felt like tensions were high and y'all were amp for battle not outside the gate checks yet.
