***I was trying to get off a suprise attack before the battle / initiative started which Is why I just put stuff out there but I can do it in the initiative order if needed, no big deal.***
(Wow, that escalated quickly! Didn't we communicate to the high priestess that we'd try to not harm her daughter? I hope the Arch Priestess here isn't her! Perhaps knocking unconscious or sleeping the Arch Priestess, killing the Whips, and intimidating the Worshippers is a viable strategy here?)
Lucky sees Recwyin and Bigsby charge in with reckless abandon, knowing deep-down that conflict was likely inevitable from previous experiences with Recwyin. Despite his previous comment about exercising restraint should a situation like this present itself...Lucky glances at Leggy, who seems to have taken a battle-stance position on his shoulder, and says to the little spider, "Well, it's time to be heroic, my 8-legged friend!", then looks onward towards the developing battle-ground.
Lucky casts Heroism (Spell Casting Modifier is +3) on Rhogar and gives him Bardic Inspiration through words of encouragement that only Rhogar hears. Then moves to the best defensive/covered position he can find.
Bardic Inspiration
As a bonus action, a creature within 60 ft. that can hear you gains an inspiration die (1d6). For 10 minutes, the creature can add it to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw. This can be added after seeing the roll, but before knowing the outcome.
"Rhogar, you are a great hero worthy of fine song and praise. Show these foes why I shall sing great songs of your heroic deeds!"
***look, I specified non-lethal lol.... I mean.. its a rope... so unless it cuts through her like the cables in titanic.. she will be fine...***
expanding on that I attacked the shrine(which the "good" priestess suggested)and helped the hostage. Shock and awe tactic. Not like I tried to shoot her in the face, which I probably could have.
(Totally giving you a hard time “in-character” lol. Personally I’m completely fine with literally anything we end up doing. I do enjoy the RP, if you couldn’t tell. Lol)

**sorry Rhogar, i do sometimes let people fire off their shots pre-initiative, but Recwyin made the first move and then also rolled highest in initiative, so i thought it made sense to just slide all your actions into order.**
Lucky sees his comrades rush into the ritual and cause trouble, so he casts Heroism on Rhogar and gives him bardic inspiration.
Rhogar, bolstered by Lucky's encouragement, launches a rope at the prone arch-priestess (dex save with dis: 5) - taking 20 dmg
The worshipers rush to the aid of the priestess, some taking a defensive position in front of her, and 2 taking Bites at Recwyin

Garruk, seeing them all clump together, will run up to the clump of worshipers and their priestess, casting Thunderwave with a second level spell slot.
DC: 14
Damage: 18
Having entered the brawl, Garruk will use his bonus action to wildshape back into a bear form, muscles buldging as fur ripples and expands from his cloak to cover his entire form.

Worshippers Dex Saves: 10, 5, 8, 6, 19, 19
Priestess Dex save with Dis: 5
Most of the Worshipers are flung back by the wave, unprepared for that type of assault. The priestess is also knocked back by the thunderous sound that blasts force from Garruk.
One of the Whips runs forward to strike twice at Recwyin:
Attack: 8 Damage: 4 Attack: 8Damage: 7
The other takes two attacks at Bearruk:
Attack: 10Damage: 4 Attack: 9Damage: 6
The priestess stands up, staggering slightly. She steps forward towards the Duergar while Recwyin is distracted. “The time has come,” she says, “for us to acknowledge your divine vision and welcome it. I have brought these as offerings.” She gestures toward all of you.“Will you not accept them?Oh wise father, may their blood nourish and strengthen you!” A burbling cheer goes up from the surrounding kuo-toa worshipers, their fists raised in the air. And the arch-priestess slices across the Duergar's throat.
Recwyin looks on in shock, his efforts to save the sacrifice seemingly for naught. He fires his bow at the worshiper nearest the priestess. Attack 23 damage 10 colossus slayer extra damage

we told your mother we would try and return you alive. This ends as soon as you want. Send the others away and be placed bound for the trip back.

Bigsby pushes his hands forward and moves the sphere to one of the followers for 6 damage. While holding the micro sphere in his right hand he pulls his amulet in his left and brings down sacred flame on a different follower for 6 damage. (Both dex 13 saves, sphere takes half damage.).
*were we supposed to not kill anyone or just the daughter?. *
(Confirmed to try and save the daughter, think the rest were expendable or acceptable collateral damage. If truly religious cult fanatics may be unavailable)

(You're good enough at it that I didn't catch on. No hard feelings, though now I kinda do want to shoot her, but wont)
(Rhogar can be seen nodding his head to the beat of the song while slinging that rope)
