(I don’t think we’ve actually short rested yet. Could be wrong on that but I think DM is moving us to a different place to rest adeer following the high priestess there)
The priestess shows you over to a small hut with some mats and seats for you to rest on. You can all take an hour to rest. She leaves to go speak with some people about a reward for all of you.
*All the NPCs are going to stick round here for now. Most of them arent great in a fight and most of them can speak Undercommon. They're going to Ask around for directions for you all when you decide to leave.**
"At last, a bit of hospitality to take comfort with. Allow me to play us a soothing Song of Rest to ease our bodies and our minds from our harrowing journey's stresses."
Lucky finds a comfortable place and takes out his Shawm. After comforting his allies with a Song of Rest, he gets comfortable enough to take a short rest.
Song of Rest+1d6 HPPHB54
During a short rest, friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain additional hit points when they spend Hit Dice based on your level:
[2nd] 1d6
*All in range can roll 2d6 and regain that much HP*
When you're all settled and ready to go, two kuo-toans arrive and speak to Shuushar for a moment. Shuushar tells you that the two men will escort you to the cults location.
Rhogar will stand and run his hands through his hair before pulling it back into a pony tail behind him. Sut will fly down from his overwatch perch and land on his shoulder. "Let's get moving..."
You're all get set to go and you follow the 2 Kuo-toans through the village. After only a moment you see a similar sight come into view. Down the street you see a similar set up to the Shrine of the Sea Mother, you see a sort of statue/alter set up with various Kuo-toans worshiping around it. This alter however consists of a large hide cut roughly in the shape of a manta ray and stretched out on cords between two support poles. A dead, splayed-out manta ray is pinned to the center of the hide. Two dead octopuses are draped across the top, their tentacles pinned and artfully arrayed, their heads tied together and painted with red and blue pigments. You see a woman in robes holding a dagger, and chanting something in front of the alter, and tied up to a post nearby you see an unconscious male Duergar. There is a crowd of worshipers kneeled around her, chanting.
Does everyone see this? Looks like a sacrifice. I don't know if it's the cult we're after but stopping it is an option. If it is them they have fewer numbers for us to worry about and we begin to show their god is weak. If it isn't them we can build a reputation as cult slayers and perhaps some of the less faithful will give up willingly.
Rhogar, approaching seeing what is going on in front of him will act quickly. He will immediately instruct Sut to fly close to the priestess, dive-bombing in front of her while he pulls the 5ft. rope from his pack and casts catapult (at 2nd level, non-lethal?) attempting to knock her out before she realizes that we are planning to attack.
Dex 12 save or take 4d8 (with advantage due to bird flyby and suprise I hope?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
We’re just putting what we want to do?
Bigby takes hands and holds them together, forming a small molten like ball in his hands shining. As he swirls his hands about and begins speaking in giant. A Flaming sphere appears right on top of the alter setting the octopi and manta Ray on fire. Then moving his arms to the right the flaming sphere slams into the priestess. (Dex save 13) for 4 damage or half on a successful save. He then moves to find cover.

Recwyin bolts forward away from the group and rushes straight into the fray. He takes a few swipes at the ropes holding up the alter, causing part of it to collapse. He then moves over to try to get the Druegar down.
Bigsby creates a large ball of fire around the alter, setting it ablaze, he then moves the sphere towards the arch-priestess, Dex Save: 20 - she is unable to dodge in time and the flames burn her arm as she dives to the ground.

Feeling refreshed Bugbsy stands up and yawning while scratching his head. “Ok guys let’s try to remember to get out as soon as possible.”

Recwyin looks to his friends for input.
**this is the cult you were headed to, the 2 kuotoans led you here specifically.**
