At the sound of Ugly Beard’s obnoxious bellowing voice Jinn was taken back to countless memories of sea farers just like him who took more resources than they needed and more credit than they deserved. After the ales almost spilled on her, she snapped back to reality and gave Duncan a nod as a thank you for catching them. “Well that got out of control quickly” Jinn responded, taking her own drink and a mostly untouched ale from a nearby table (sleight of hand roll 25) and walking over to the two brawling men. “Follow my lead,” she said motioning to Duncan with a jerk of her chin.
Duncan smiles seeing Jinn swiped a drink and decides to do the same from a table just a little further away. (18 sleight of hand) Duncan nods at Jinn, waiting for her next move. Let’s see what she will do, he thinks to himself.
“You know, he’s not lying.” The party hears an unfamiliar voice come from their table and notices a hooded figure has joined them. The hooded man takes a sip from his freshly filled mug, foam forming on his lips. As he smiles and wipes away his frothy mustache, you notice his razor sharp teeth. The man’s skin looks pale with a bluish hue and he is dressed in a dark, hooded cloak; he is seemingly amused by what is currently happening. Wiping his face he says, “Sad thing is, nobody will ever believe that salty old sea-dog. I guess it’s a bad case of the boy who cried monster.” He takes another sip of his drink as the awkward silence at the table sets in. “I’m D’ward, it’s truly a pleasure to meet you finally. I’ve been hearing a lot about you as of late and it seems that you’re doing good things for people.” D’ward looks around the tavern as the party spots what appears to be a shark tooth necklace around his neck. He looks back at the party, “It may sound crazy, but old Ugly Beard over there is telling the truth and I can prove it.”
Duncan is somewhat amused that someone basically got the drop on him, he usually has better situational awareness. He sniffs the drink he swiped and looks at Jinn and then D’ward. He picks his pipe back up off the table, notices it is out and relights it. Each time he takes a puff his long ears twitch.
“Ole Ugly Beard has been telling the truth this whole time? So there really is a kraken of proportion that he speaks of, how is that possible?”
“Sounds like the type of thing I’d like to hear all about” Jinn agreed. Extending one ale to Ugly Beard and one ale to the new stranger. “tell me, stranger” Jinn continued, “do you even carry a sword or do those teeth handle all the violence for you? Ever sunk your teeth into that creature ole Ugly Beard is hollering about?” (I tried to roll a charisma check but it was a 10, rip)
“Oh absolutely looks like you can handle yourself (helping action persuasion NAT 20 +7=27) with no issue, I’m Duncan and this is Jinn. We want in on it.”
D’ward takes the drink and smiles as he watches Ugly Beard trying to impress an incredibly large woman with his stories. Ugly Beard makes wild hand motions, describing the intense action, spilling and splashing the drink that Jinn just handed him.
"Okay, I will get straight to the point. This may sound crazy, but I had a dream that I would meet a couple of adventurers who closely resemble you two. In this very tavern. I came here on a whim and was very surprised to see you here. What are the chances?"

"You're gonna need a bigger Keelboat." - Noah "Shark" Robertson
D'ward looks around the room for a moment and continues, "I've been receiving visions for some time... I have sought out your presence to tell you here and now, a dark and unimaginably evil force threatens the very existence of this entire realm."

Duncan sits in it, the statement that D'ward just said "a dark and unimaginably evil force threatens the very existence of this entire realm." At first, Duncan feels a panic coming on. He closes his eyes and feels it again, hears his own screams as he gets ripped apart in the negative plane of vacuum, but there were no screams only vibrations.
Duncan opens his eyes and takes a long draw from his pipe that burns the rest of the green leafy substance into straight ash and breathes out the smoke into the air above. He motions for the waitress to bring another round for the table. The harengon cleans out his pipe and smiles, looking up at everyone at the table and then back down as the ash is knocked out of the pipe and onto the the briney floor. His boots press the ash into the salt water logged boards as he kicks it away from the table.
"Crazy, not entirely. I'm all ears, what can we do about this "evil force" and do we know what it is or what it's called D'ward? Oh also, is anyone else hungry?"
