The four northernmost rooms are identical to all the others: covered with frost and containing only old, tattered furs that are spread on the massive bunks.
Banking on the giant pushing a boulder more slowly than I can run, I go back down to the immovable rod and ready my stance for a quick escape. I press the button and dart back up the hallway, then dodge to the side and lay down again to let the giant push the boulder past.
Rixton's plan works as he intended. The granite sphere passes him by, and eventually the animated stone giant pushes it to the top of the slope where it is absorbed into the northern wall. The trap is reset and all the stone walls vanish.
The statue then lumbers southward to return to its place at the southern end of the hall.
I rejoin my comrades by the tunnel entrance. "Hello," I say. "This place keeps one on their toes. By the way, don't go up the hallway. There is nothing but a convoluted magical trap trigger that way, apparently."
"That was actually very well done Rixton, good thinking." Andor pats his companion on the shoulder, "shall we investigate the other side of that chamber or are there more levels on this side to explore." The sorcerer looks warily in the direction of the giant stone ball in case it descends again.

"I would rather get this over with now, at least I know that granite ball can't follow me through that tunnel." Vigan peers into the tunnel, not expecting to see much. "How far did you say it goes?"
"I made it about 200 feet in before hitting a fork in the tunnel. If we all stick together, I think me in front, Vigan behind me, then Andor in the middle. Ladrian and Carrow can cover our flank. If we want to split up at the fork, maybe me, Ladrian, and Andor go one way and Vigan and Carrow the other? I think I'd rather stick together on this one."
Harshnag remains behind as the five adventurers make their way through the icy, narrow terrain of the tunnel. After approximately 200', they reach the fork mentioned by Rixton.

Rixton pockets the coin and leads the group along the path that branches to the south. As soon as Carrow reaches the fork, his magical longsword alerts him that the group is walking into danger. Carrow begins to call out to Rixton, but before the ranger can put his warning into words the ice spiders have made their presence known. Two of them loom before Rixton, each of them clinging to the icy tunnel walls. The other three drop from the tunnel ceiling behind Carrow.

Andor: 21 (tie breaker: 3)
Carrow: 14 (tie breaker: 1)

NOTE: I added the tie-breaking rolls because the spiders, Andor, and Carrow all rolled a 21. Of course, by doing so, I created the error message. Initiative--based on the original rolls--is as follows:
Andor and Carrow
Ice spiders (which are very similar to giant spiders)
Rixton, Vigan, and Ladrian
(Round 1 begins with actions for Andor and Carrow; the spiders will follow)

Andor
Seeing a chance to attack while they are all grouped together Andor brings forth another fiery torrent inside himself as he squeezes past Ladrian and Carrow unleashing a burning blast all over the three spiders.
The sorcerer catches the spiders by surprise as they skitter along the floor and walls toward the group. All three of the giant arachnids are momentarily engulfed in flames.

Rixton:
"I don't know if you can hear me, gentlemen, but I've broken the trap temporarily. Hold tight for a few minutes," I say through the wall.
I walk up the sloped hallway, cautiously watching for any other traps to spring. If all is safe, I examine rooms 11, 12, 13, and 14.

"Yeah, let's not split the party when we know there are traps. " Ladrian rolls his eyes slightly. "That order sounds good Rixton"
