Vondal visibly struggles to find the words, but eventually lets out a sigh. "You have our thanks, Mr. Rediroth. Truly. But, even with an out..." He glances over to Daran, then back to the old man frowning. "I do not think we can leave just yet. Dragon or not. Not until this pendant has been found, at the very least. And, not to cast doubt upon your knowledge, but... why are you here with so many dangerous about? To simply warn travelers? Or is there something else going on that you rather not say?"

The old man's eyes travel to Karl after his comment, but he says to Vondal, "Work."
"We appreciate the warning," Daran says, "but as I said, we have an errand first. Is there a way you could show us where these dangers lie?"
The old man's eyes travel back to Daran where they sit unwavingly for about a minute. The druid swallows, but waits patiently. Finally, the old man grabs a stick and begins drawing in the dirt to the side of the rug. He indicates buildings and dangers using as few words as possible.
Everyone roll an intelligence check!
Daran's: 15
Never mind. Daran's is good enough. He'll remember the map and traps. Anybody want to ask the old man anything else?
Vondal too quirked a brow in Karl's direction, though more swiftly brushed it off with a shake of the head. He squints soon after at the Old man, and spend the time it took for old man and Daran to finish their staring contest to tug at the side of his beard into its meaning. "Vell, if our search happens to involve clearing a few of these buildings, I hope vhat makes your work easier... But one more thing. These people in strange mask? What can you tell us about them? Or can you sketch their mask design? Because if they're gonna be a problem, it is best we know now."

The old man looks at Vondal. "You see any wearing black masks — that's them." He looks at the three travelers, clearly sizing them up. "Any clearing would be helpful. You strong?"
OOC: Let's say Adrom stayed outside and Nif found him, and the two are waiting around outside.
(OOC Fair enough. Adrom will be in a place that allow him to see the closed door and to keep an eye on Nif )
Something about that ghost town was upsetting Adrom. Perhaps was the old man's attitude, closing the door and locking it behind before he could had call Nif to join them, or perhaps the fact that he was still living in that ruined town.
"I don't know lad " he says to Nif in low voice " I have a bad feeling about this..." he looks around, tense.
"Me? No. Skilled? I would say so. Uncle and Adrom are the strong ones, truth be told." Vondal confesses. "It wasn't so long ago that we dealt with some Orcs and Ogre some ways back. Hobgoblins too if further back. So, we can handle ourselves fairly well."With that, the gold dwarf looked to the weaponry still on his back affectionately, though only for a moment. "But alright. We should get going. Again, you have oru thanks, Mr. Rediroth. And however much we manage, we'll see to letting you know before we take our leave."
Vondal looks to Daran and Karl on that note, and seeing if either had more to say for the old man. After which he bids him goodbye with a final goodbye, and passed along all the knew to Adrom and Nif, if the two hadn't already been listening outside.

"A Dragon?!" exclaims Adrom and immediatly lowers his voice to a whisper " a dragon?! you are telling me that there is a dragon in this ghost town? Don't get me wrong lads, but we should get the hell out of here before that worm decides to have a darwen snack! "
Daran looks around as if getting his barrings. In response to Adrom, he points at the tower on top of the hill. "It's up there. If we steer clear, we should be OK." He grins at Karl. "Though, it sounded like Karl was interested."
"I'm not sure which building was Mirna's family's, so I guess we'll just have to check each one until we find the necklace." He looks at the building on the right that they bypassed. "That building has blights, according to the old man's map."
Vondal just continually gestures to Daran while giving Adrom a 'See? It's totally fine' kind of look during the explanation. "Don't worry, Adrom. If things start to look a bit sketchy, we will take our leave. For now, let's do what we can. The elder -- Mr. Rediroth -- he's been able to stay here for presumably quite a while without drawing the dragon's ire. So long as none of us use any loud magics, we should be fine. Now! Let's see about those blights and searching the building!" Vondal bustles along towards the aforementioned building confidently, or at least a false one as to keep everyone at ease.
It's only after the fact that he frowns and says, "Do any of you know what a blight is?"

"Plants that have come alive and will attack if provoked," Daran answers Vondal. "They can be quite vicious, but if we're quiet, they might leave us alone. It's best to be on our guard." He druid walks toward the ruined farmhouse, stepping over the crumbling remains of one wall. "Let me see what I can find. You lot watch my back." The half-elf looks around, trying to not disturb anything as he searches, but he eventually starts moving rocks and other objects. However quietly he works, those closest to the north and south doorways hear a scrabbling sound. They look, ready for advancing foliage, to see four (two coming from each direction) twig blights scurrying in, looking angry.
You are all ready, so you all get to attack first. Doesn't matter which order, just roll! Melee or ranged works.
Karl looks at the mobile plants and then at Pacifier II "really should have brought an axe! Oh well needs must!" as he swings his war-hammer (Attack: 26 Damage: 7)

"Vell, you can't have mines, Uncle."Vondal jests in return as he raced forward to try cleaving one of the creatures in twain, and then rolls off the momentum of the second to catch another with a knee to the face! Well, wherever he thinks a face might be anyways.

OOC: Sorry Adrom, but I roll to find out what happens with your critical fail: 2
Adrom steps forward and swings his hammer a bit over zealously at one of the unnatural, moving twig. The tiny creature dances out of the way, and the swing was so great, that the cleric feels something pull in his back painfully (2 damage, no change to abilities).
Nif takes out a third twig. That leaves one. It tries to attack (Adrom=1, Karl=2, Nif=3, Vondal=4: 4 — claws attack: 9, damage: 5 piercing damage) The final tiny creature swings one of his tiny clawed hands at Karl, but the dwarf lifts his leg to dodge the attack.
"I got think I got the last one!"Vondal proclaims, as he spun on his heel and raced forth to make a blight wished it stayed just a regular plant! So he leaps into an elbow strike to the center mass, then a heavy footed boot down to smash it into the ground.
Despite his spectacular miss with his elbow strike, he's able to land his kick, she is enough to vanquish the last of the four blights.
Daran smiles. "Thankfully, they were just twig blights. You four handled them soundly. Are you OK with me continuing to search this building? There might be more of them."

Karl’s eyes light up at the word dragon “a dragon eh - that could be fun. Where do we find said dragon?”
