Karl hangs on tight, preparing to dodge any oncoming attacks from the creature he is currently grappling. As he awaits an inevitable attack, a mysterious and very localized fog begins to rise up around the dwarf.
Karl, you are charmed by the dragon. Just making sure we're clear — you are not dominated or controlled. It just means you regard the dragon as a friend and should act accordingly.
As Adrom's spiritual hammer slams into the dragon, Karl yells out "stop 'ittin' the bastard so 'ard. I've almost got 'im calmed down and under control and youse 'll only make the bastard angry again!"
Assuming this is allowed, Nif will use his cunning action to dash, so he is position behind in the dragon (I,H-4,5) and will take advantage of his new position to flank the dragon.
That doesn't work. For one, you're too big to fit through the door. For two, the dragon is blocking the way through the door. While I allow PCs to enter the spaces of unconscious foes, the dragon isn't unconscious, even though it is prone.
Would you allow me to stay were I am and use the attack. Then use my bonus action to disengage the thorns if Vondal uses them to attack, so I don't have to make another save?
Vondal peerks inside again long enough to call out. "What was that Uncle? I didn't quite hear you! You want us to keep at it? Okay! Thorn bearers! Keep up the good work! Lash the scaled one. Lash the dragon!"With that done, if only for good measure, Vondal steps outside more to figure out a plan. Desperate, the first foolish one to come to mind leads to him calling upon him tugging at the weave as he would a great, invisible mesh net, causing a large cube of earth to rise and to the side for the beginnings of a hole.
OOC: I just remembered (because I actually look at my notes) that Adrom, Nif and Vondal are blessed and could be rolling a d4 with each attack roll and saving throw.
Nif aims and is about to swing his shortsword when something in his mind, which almost sounds like the clanging of a hammer on an anvil, causes him to change his aim just slightly. He pulls the blade downward, and it finds its mark in the dragon's neck. He then takes a defensive position.
Vondal pops his head back into the cottage and once again tells the wall of thorny foliage to attack, but the wall seems a little half-hearted in the effort and doesn't bend far enough down to hit the dragon. Nif has to dodge the wall as it stands back up. (DEX save with advantage DC15: 14) Expecting the wall to bend as far forward as it did the first time, when it comes bouncing back before he's prepared, the thorns catch his large form. (15 piercing damage)
Vondal, where are you putting the dirt you excavated? The wall is 40 feet tall. The wall appears climbable, but doesn't look very easy.
The dragon calmly, yet clearly holding back anger, says to Karl. "Get off my neck." (Persuasion with advantage due to charm effect: 15)
Karl, roll a contesting insight check. If you fail, you have to climb down to G3 as part of your turn, and cannot grapple it again.
OOC: I just remembered (because I actually look at my notes) that Adrom, Nif and Vondal are blessed and could be rolling a d4 with each attack roll and saving throw.
Should people go back and roll d4 for any narrow misses.
Karl's save against Persuasion (wisdom - he thinks its a bad idea = 20) (charisma if that's more appropriate = 3)
(DM if you were nice you'd take the first roll of 16 and add either +2 for wisdom or -1 for charisma0
If anyone wants to roll a d4 to help improve a previous roll, let me know which post and what you're trying to improve.
Karl, your first roll was an 18. Either way (+2 or -1), you beat the dragon. Did you want to do anything else? That was really on the dragon's turn, not yours. You can't do anything harmful toward the dragon, but that's the only limitation.
Seeing no room for him to go and attack the dragon himself Adrom prays to Moradin to help them in battle again and another ray of red radiant energy reaches for the dragon with the spiritual maul trying to break it's back.
( Attack: 12 Damage: 14
d4: 3
Spiritual Weapon: Attack: 17 Damage: 7
In case it has advantage: 19 )

Karl continues to dodge the Dragon's flailing claws activating his Dwarven Fortitude (6)
(OOC with a roll like that I think Karl's got a greater right to complain about fairness - or lack thereof - than the dragon)

Karl, roll a WIS save, please.
Karl's wisdom save = 3
aaaarghhh - two '1' in a row - that's plain unfair. And Devin complains about weighted dice!

Karl, you are charmed by the dragon. Just making sure we're clear — you are not dominated or controlled. It just means you regard the dragon as a friend and should act accordingly.
Round 7: Adrom, Nif (enlarged), Vondal, dragon (harmed, grappled), Karl (charmed)
Adrom, you're up!
( I am not really sure what to do here. I get that we have no idea that Karl is charmed now... So I will act accordingly. )
"Keep it up lads! Just keep him low and steady Karl! "
He touches his holy symbol once more and asks Moradin to help them destroying that foul creature and avoid being eaten by it.
"Help us Moradin, beign food to a enlarged lizard is no fitting end for your sons!"
A ray of light cames out of the holy symbol and flies towards the dragon. The spiritual weapon behind it follows suit trying to hit the dragon again.
Adrom carefully retreats to one of the corners of the room to make space to Nif.

Nif, you're up!

The "thorn attack" isn't an opportunity attack, which is what disengaging counters. You can take the dodge action as your bonus action.
Ill do that then.
Vondal peerks inside again long enough to call out. "What was that Uncle? I didn't quite hear you! You want us to keep at it? Okay! Thorn bearers! Keep up the good work! Lash the scaled one. Movement: To 6D(then 6E after casting spell).
Action: Cast Mold Earth to excavate earth at 7G.
Part of the wall gives way, swayed by the Wizard's charm. Without thought or concern for the dwarf in the way, it lashes out for the dragon...
Thorn Wall - Attack: 15 Damage: 4 at Dragon.
(@DDP: Remind me. Did the Tower look climable from the outside, and how high was it?)

Equally politely Karl answers back “thanks all the same but I reckon I’ll stay on if it’s ok with you!”
