OCC: Wait, wasn't it a 5sp ante for everyone? Theo looks careful for any 'fast hand' action going on....Passive Perception: 16 . Active Perception: 21
Theo smiles. "Oh! I guess I got lucky! It's a fun game I think, right? So what else do you guys get up to for fun around here?"
Theo counts cards again and pays attention to any fast hands and cheating by the others.

If it looks like he might lose, he'll use Minor Illusion to give himself the correct card, using Sleight of Hand to hide the casting. If he's doing well he won't use the magic.
OOC: lol, it was 5 silver! Geez....i wish this stuff was written down somewhere so I could go back and look......*sarcasm* lol. so 20sp to you Theo! lol
The men act surprised at your win! "You sure, you've never played this before kid?"One of the other men mutters a few curses, seemingly very upset.
"Alright then, now that we're warmed up, let's go ahead and up the stakes a bit. The ante is now 50sp?"He asks it as a question to see how you feel about it.
Flynn you're trying to follow the game but, having never actually played it, you're having a hard time following.

Wex will (try to) snap out of it, and pay attention, not to the game, but to the players, to be available if it looks like Theo might get into trouble.

Theo takes smiles a bit as he has made some modest winnings.
As he collects his coin "Beginners luck I guess?"
With the suggestion of a 50sp ante Theo acts a bit shocked. "Ten times the ante on the third round? I mean for 50 silver I could stay at this nice inn for a week or have drinks for a month! Well, I guess I can take what little I have and see how I do..."
Theo 'reluctantly' put in his 50sp to play and watches the others with a smile for any cheating. Passive Perception: 16Active: 19
He counts the cards as they play...and at this level he's not taking any risks, he needs cash and seeing that pile of coin (200 glittery beautiful treasures) gets the best of him...Theo uses Minor Illusion to make sure he wins, and wins big.

Wex, sitting up and paying better attention, you notice the man dealing grabbing something from under the table right after he shuffles the deck.
Theo.....Oh they're definitely trying to cheat now. You notice the man dealing cards from the bottom to his friends and then dealing from the top to you. The cards are dealt with the ante all in. The rounds get played out.
The talkative man holds his cool, but the other two look visibly upset now, the dealer slamming his hand down quite dramatically while staring a mean look at both you and his supposed friend the "talkative one". The man ignoring his friend speaks up, "Well! Would you look at that.....Must be more of that 'Beginners Luck' huh?" He looks back to his friends then says. "Well, let's deal another round boys! Night is still young....that is if, you're still up for it friend?"
OOC: so thats 200sp to you, for that round Theo! If you're up for another round the DC is now 15.

Theo feigns being shocked at the man's anger and he collects his coins.
"I guess it just must be my lucky day! I mean, I needed this after getting robbed by those horrible cultists. But no need to be so upset..I'm still in for another round if everyone else is. Another big 50sp ante? Are we sure?" Theo gives a sly smile, greed in his eyes.
For this hand Theo watches intently how they are cheating and still keeps counting cards keeping that in consideration. However, given that they are full on cheating Theo ramps up his own cheating. He'll give himself a winning hand with Minor Illusion.

Wex stands up, with a look at Flynn. "We can't afford this."
He drunkenly stumbles towards the table where Theo is playing and collapses into it, upending the whole thing in the middle of this latest round. This is not minor, he's basically flipping the table and acting drunk while he does so. Slurring his words, he smiles and tries to mop up any drinks that got spilled. "I sho shorry! Oh, my gods, I was sheeing two tables, thought I went right tween 'em! Ha! Ha ha heh..."

Theo, even with their cheating you easily win another round just by smart playing! The dealer and the the quiet one are now visibly upset, but it seems that their ire is split between you and the talkative one. The talkative one speaks up as you collect your winnings, he has a slight smile. "You know, I'm beginning to think you know a lot more about this game than you led us to believe friend."
You're just about done putting the coins in your pouch when a very drunk Wex, comes banging into the table and sending it up and over and he falls onto it and then the floor! Cards and drinks go flying all over! The men are cursing out loud at you Wex, now extremely mad, even the talkative one who has yet to, visibly, lose his cool.
"You imbecile! What in the hells do you think you're doing!?!" The man wipes his spilled drink from his face and stares down at you.

"Oh... I'm sho shorty... uh, shorry? Shorry!" Wex will stand up (he's tall) and apologize profusely. Then, "I shust lost my wife... to a dragon..." and he starts to sob. "In Greenst... ohhhh, my Lissi!" He sits back down on the floor, disconsolate.

Theo smiles brightly and 'innocently' as the man comments on his playing with his coin purses now full of money (440 silver total, minus 110sp antes so a net of 330sp?)
As Theo gets the last of his coins in his purse and before he replies to his opponents he lets out a yelp as Wex crashes through the game. Theo gets up and out of the way abruptly and gives 'drunk' Wex a nasty death glare.
"What in the name of the nine hells! Ugh go away you loud mouth drunk!" to Wex. Theo looks genuinely livid with Wex.
"Oh and sorry about the game fellas', I guess we're done for the night if the bar is getting too disruptive? I mean times are tough and I've been so lucky trying this game out. I also feel 'really' bad taking so much of your money. Best we call it quits?" Theo gives a smirk Deception: 6
As he does he begins to motion as if he'll be leaving the game to the bar...
The men are extremely mad. Mad at losing their money, and mad at Wex for crashing in. The talkative one looks over at Theo as he bids them farewell. "Aye, it was a good game you played there friend. I'm sure we'll have another chance to win our money back." All of them turn their ire towards Wex. The dealer reaches down and yanks Wex to his feet, the quiet player helps out his friend and they both begin to carry Wex out towards the doors. (unless you try to resist or something ;) ). The talkative one starts to pick up the mess of cards and the table.
Wex is willing to go with them, some part of him is sort of looking forward to it. But Flynn has the right of it, he knows. He’ll go limp, deadweight between them, sobbing quietly for his lost wife.

Theo looks to Flynn with disdain. "No, not to what I was doing - just that I was likely playing them. Regardless they were cheating really badly, I just out-smarted them at their own game."
"Should we wait to see if Wex is ok then? Well, fake drunk nonsense and all those fools might try to take advantage of him."
Flynn, you capture the guards voice perfectly, and actually make the two men carrying Wex stop for a second. One even answers you."This fool disturbed our game, we were just showing him the door!" The men look around for a bit while holding up "drunk Wex". But after not being able to find the guard they shrug and continue outside with Wex.
OOC: Wex you're now outside and being carried around the corner into an alley way of sorts. It is dark out.
