Wex motions Flynn away. “I’ll watch. I’ve been on the receiving end of Fingers’ sessions. ‘Sides, I’ve the eyes.” The tall man will head into the darkness in the direction the bandits fled, stopping just outside of the firelight, watching the terrain with his 120’ of darkvision.
The bandit wakes up with a scream of pain, then slumps over. He looks in pretty bad shape. He musters enough energy to barely raise his head and look at you, Sevrn, through one eye as the blood falls over his other. The look on his face is of terror then it falls back down with a strain of exertion."We, they.....We were just in it for some easy gain! I only knew Phillip and his two friends, I've helped them out on a few jobs before. He said this was going to be an easy grab." The man starts coughing up blood near the end of his strained sentence.
Wex, walking outwards from the camp you make your way through the now dying smoke cloud. It's difficult to see in that area but with your special sight, and the fact you almost tripped over it, you see a burlap sack that's tied closed at the top. Looking out towards the direction the man on the horse road off, there is no sign of him or anyone.
The man tries to look where you motion Sevrn, but the blood in his eyes and his wounds, he can't really see the bag. "I'm not sure, I can't....." The man goes into another coughing fit before passing out.
Alright i recommend we take a rest here (SHORT) for a bit and start again
Flynn starts singing softly as he resumes his watch
Song of Rest
If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points.
"Agreed. We're not going to get anything from this one... better leave him here and move on. Let's put some distance between us before Phillip realizes he's dropped whatever is in that bag."
Sevrn will take the opportunity to get his bearings and [careful to position himself behind B7 in case he's faking it] point in the direction he thinks they're meant to be headed. Once the group has agreed on the direction, and has mounted their horses, he'll lead the team in the opposite direction for a bit to confuse their tracks and in case B7 regains consciousness, before looping widely around toward the direction they are meant to be heading.
Whispering, once they clear B7 and camp but before they loop back around: "Theo, can you do something about our tracks?"
...once we are all back on our way, Sevrn will pull his horse alongside Flynn's and whisper:
"What was all that was about? That hardly felt accidental."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Theo gathers up his equipment after a bit of recovery and bandaged wounds.
Short rest (1 HD plus Bard healing): 11 and recover 1 2nd level spell slot
Theo to Sevrn. "Not really too much. The most I could do is summon multiple small wind gusts periodically to randomize and cover a bit the tracks we leave."Prestidigitation
Theo also approaches Sevrn and Flynn as they whisper. "Yes some of those men, and in particular one that ran off were from the card game the other night. I only fleeced them out of about 30 gold, so I'm not sure what that was all really about. You might want to ask Wex, he did something to them after he left the bar with them."
"You couldn't have possibly won that much gold at the table... You didn't steal anything more significant did you?
We should have killed Phillip when we had the chance... anyone proud enough to ambush a heavily armed group of 4 for a card game will be back after that botched attempt with better men. We should pick up the pace, the last thing we need are more distractions."
Theo looks a bit insulted at Sevrn's comment. "I've won far more in the past, but after a night of high stakes playing. And yes I did, for whatever reason they wanted to bet 50 silver a hand. A reasonably big sum for a hand. And I won every hand we played until Wex broke it up and they took him outside."

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Theo dismisses the Flaming Sphere and moves back into the camp to bandage his wounds.
He looks concerned and in part horrified as Sevrn ties up the captive bandit for torture, and he moves over the Flynn.
Whispering: "You know the elf the best...he wouldn't really torture that man, right? It's all just for show I hope?"
while bandaging his own wound Flynn responds
He has his ways his oaths bind him, but sometimes he is a better performer than even myself *low chuckle
louder Are we spending the rest of the night here?

Sevrn locks eyes with B7 and smiles. "Are we?"

You can't really see in it with the lingering smoke but its a fairly good size sack. You feel some coins and a few other items.
"Who is Philip and what did he want?"
"Answer him lad an itll go easier, i can heal you up a bit but you need to answer him

The man answers in a barely audible tone, "The guy on the horse." He sneers and lets out a bloody cough. "The guy who left the rest of us."
Coming back into the light Wex, you now notice that the burlap sack is dyed a dark red and tied shut with a green tinged twine.
"Did he leave this behind as well?" motioning to the bag

Did Phillip and/or his crew give off any Dragon cult vibes that Wex might have noticed?
