"Holy relics. Bah. Just some old bones I found someone interested in. Every night the father gathers people in here and parrots the burgomaster's claims of 'All is well.' Look around. All is not well. I just want to be able to protect my siblings and get free of the curse on this country, but there is no hope of that. The kid mentioned the bones to me and I happened to mention them to Henrik. He told me he'd give me money to feed my younger brothers and sisters if I would steal them for him."
"Well, apparently they aren't 'just some old bones.' You removed a protective ward. Stealing to provide for your family is one thing, but putting other people in danger while doing it is quite another. Shameful. Where's this Henrik fellow, we need to talk to him."

"If they were just bones, then why would someone be interested in them in the first place? Things may not be that good, but it could be worse. Even a rotting support beam can still hold some weight."
Zander walks away from the criminal and says quietly to the group, "I didn't want to make a scene but we should turn him into whatever constitutes authority in this town. I'd like to pay a visit to this coffin maker, see what his story is, and maybe we can get these bones back. Perhaps we could pose as interested buyers?"

"We should check to make sure those kids he talked about are safe as well. No telling what state those children may be in if he is willing to do something that unsavory."
While the others converse Lae stews at the thought of the holy relics being stolen for what probably amounted to a paltry amount of coin...
As the others are distracted Lae approaches Milivoj and angrily says, "You are blind and deaf to your actions and their effect on others because of your own self pity... I believe you deserve to feel what that is truly like!"
With that Lae raises his staff and slams it on the hard pact ground casting Blindness/Deafness on the man to make him blind for 1 minute on a failed CON save (DC 12).
Before, rejoining the group Lae watches the man for a moment and says through gritted teeth, "I hope the next time you decide to commit a blasphemous act you'll think twice about it".
Wijen walks alongside Lae and quietly says, "Holding this anger is sure to only harm you more than it is to harm him. He will not be able to feel the same convictions and pain that you will."
Having received directions, you make your way through town to the coffin maker's shop. Along the way, you pass a few buildings of interest. You pass by a house that is clearly bigger than the others you have seen in town, a shop with a sign shaped like a rocking horse with a "B" engraved on both sides, and walk through the town square.
The shops and homes that enclose the town square are decorated with limp, tattered garlands and painted wooden boxes filled with tiny, dead flowers. At the north end of the square stands a row of stocks, locked in which are several men, women, and children wearing crude plaster donkey heads.
In the center of the square, peasants in patchwork clothes eye you suspiciously as they use cups and vases to draw water from a crumbling stone fountain. Standing tall at the center of the fountain is a gray statue of an impressive man facing west. All around the square are posted proclamations:
"Come one, come all,
to the greatest celebration of the year:
THE WOLF'S HEAD JAMBOREE!
Attendance and children required.
Pikes will be provided.
ALL WILL BE WELL!

"What can you tell us?"
He shoves his shovel into the ground so it will remain standing up. With a bit of annoyance, he replies, "I sold them."
"To whom?"
"And why? Do you realize you may have doomed these people?"

Lae’s jaw all but falls open, “How could you just sell holy relics?! What is wrong on so many levels!”

"Henrik is the coffin maker. He's probably at his shop." He picks up his shovel and begins "raking" again.

CON save: 16
He falls to his knees, alternately rubbing his eyes to fox them and flailing his arms to see if he can feel anything.
Before, rejoining the group Lae watches the man for a moment and says through gritted teeth, "I hope the next time you decide to commit a blasphemous act you'll think twice about it".
He sits holding his eyes and shaking.
Zander is heading to the coffin maker's.

Lae follows suite, not saying a word, but still visibly angry.
Wijen walks alongside Lae and quietly says, "Holding this anger is sure to only harm you more than it is to harm him. He will not be able to feel the same convictions and pain that you will."
