Dori would not have joined the others to talk business, instead finding a seat at the bar so he could discuss his day with Durnan. Enjoy a drink or two and a fine meal. If he so happened to sit near Yazara, the goliath would offer to pay for both their orders.
Yazara just sticks to ale, puckish though he might be at the moment. He accepts Dori paying for it if wished to, though not without giving a confused look. However, after a moment or two of quietly nursing the drink he clears his throat. "I must admit, Grey one... Hm... Actually, now that things have calmed down properly. What is your name anyhow? That is, if your remembered after that sorry business below." Yazara gives a small grin, having unclasped the mask for the drink. "And are you and your fellows truly adventurers? Because admittedly, I... honestly did not what to think. Outside the fact that your arrival was godsend considering my own predicament."

Bemused by Cloudfur's statement Gargan replies to Volo: "Interesting, have you ever tried to communicate with this spirit? I'm sure we would have no problems if you wished to continue your research at the manor." Looking at Cloudfur directly he adds with a smile: "Assuming the spirit hasn't been cleansed by then of course."
Turning back to Volo he continues "On the subject of Raener we did in fact speak to him when we found him, he mentioned a stash of money rumoured to have been hidden by his father and secreted somewhere within Waterdeep. I hoped you would have picked up on such rumours as these?"
"I've heard the same rumour but I don't believe I know anyone that has been able to verify it's accuracy. I think it's more of a legend myself - I mean why would the lord of the city steal from it? And if he did, wouldn't he come back for it? Seems unlikely to me - Lord Dagult was a good man. And besides he's been gone for at least 3 years. If something really was there someone would have found it by now I'd think."
There might have been quite a long awkward silence as Dori did not respond to Yazara immediately. Instead focusing on the wall ahead or the drink in front of him. In time though, the goliath would turn to look Yazara over. "Dori "Rockcrusher" Moogri is my name and my friends would most likely be considered adventures, yes. I follow along sometimes if the challenge seems appropriate. The reward being the risk itself
Yazara is a patient man, and not unused to creating such awkward pauses himself in his youth. So in the interim, he continued to nurse his drink, and occasionally glanced back to the table with gargan and the others. "Almost the same as me." Yazara mutters before looking up at Dori. "The reward /is/ the challenge itself? Hm... Ahhh… Now I know what you are. You're the mountain folk. A very rare sight even in Waterdeep. Though not as rare as your loose cousins-mmm... Firbolg, I think they were. Nice fellows. Or at least, the one I knew had been."There's a lengthy pause before the snake man asks, "You didn't like me much, didn't you?"

Nodding his head in agreement and lifting his hand to stroke his chin in contemplation Gargan, or rather Gargyrilaxx, thinks to himself This horde would be quite the prize, to secure even a portion of it would please the broodmother immensely.
Continuing the conversation he replies: "That makes sense to me friend but I suspect they may be more than just legends for surely the Xanathar's guild and the Zhentarim would not act based purely on a tale, someone has clearly uncovered something that has set them into motion. We would be keen to learn more of this, might you be able to assist us in gathering some information?"
Volo looks a little taken aback and stutters a bit: "I .. well ..I don't know if I'm the best person to help you with that. I'm just a writer and a socialite. I wouldn't even know where to start! I'm sure there are people in the city that can help far better than I. In fact, there is someone down the street from the manor that could definitely help you. My specialty lies more in food, drink and entertainment - I know all the best places! In fact I know the city extremely well - I wrote a book on it as well. I could even take you for a tour sometime if you iike!'
He yawns, looks around the rapidly emptying room and follows with, "It has been a good day and i welcome the opportunity to meet new people such as yourselves. I'll take my leave now, but I will arrange to meet you tomorrow morning at the manor with the magistrate. The location is Trollskull alley, located in the north ward. Thank you again for all of your help - dinner's on me!"
With that Volo shakes your hands, gets up from the table and walks to the bar to pay Durnan. He says to Dori and Sizan: "Fine folk you bunch. I hope you'll stick together - I think you'll do great things! Perhaps one day you can challenge the Undermountain!" He chuckles a bit, and hands Durnan some coin. "Good evening to you both." He bows his head, bundles up and heads out the door.
As Volo stands up at the table Gargan stands up with him and says with a nod "It has been a pleasure, have a fine evening and we shall see you in the morning."
After his departure Gargan turns back to Cloudfur and says with a smile "So, a manor. I don't know about you friend but I am keen to see this, shall we retire for the night and get an early start in the morn to have a look at what awaits us?"
You both walk over to the bar where Dori and Yazara are sitting to secure rooms for the night. Durnan nods, "It's 8 shards each for rooms, or I've got a suite you can have for 12. Sleeps 2. Volo paid for your meals. Wouldn't count on that happening alot. What'll it be?"
Once Sizan had his answer, or lack thereof he'd go quiet himself for awhile to ponder. He squints at Volo following his passing suggestion, but didn't comment on the matter. Instead, he finished off his drink to settle rooming arrangement, having had more than enough idle chit chat for the evening. "A single for me, Mr. Durnan." He slides over the coin hopefully before any can interfere. He hops out of his seat after, and starts walking away following a nod to the others. But after making it only a few steps away he stops and glances back to the others, "I have had some time to think about it, and... if alright, I would join your company starting tomorrow. From what I saw back there, you could use someone more familiar with the city."

"I don't know you." Would be Dori's only response to Yazara as he stayed focused on the drink in front of him. Wanting to take advantage of Volos hospitality as much as possible, he didn't want to waste time talking.
When it came time to decide rooms he'd probably need a single himself, but didn't mind if anyone wanted to brave bunking with the goliath.
Gargan lets out a loud laugh at Dori’s response to Yazara, leaving the mysterious figure waiting awkwardly for a few moments while he let his amusement die down. After composing himself he finally speaks up with a smile on his face “We shall see you in the morning, friend.”

Yazara merely lofts a brow, and then smiles with his eyes. "Fair, and astonishingly well put. That's twice now I misjudged you, Mr. Dori. I shall have to endeavor not to in the future."He states throughout Gargan's laughter. Whether any of that registered or not with the Goliath at the time, he did not care enough to repeat himself in the case of the latter. "Hm. And I assume the rest of share a similar sentiment?" Once Yazara had his answer in one fashion or another, he heads to his room. Only then did he take out the gazer, and examine whether or not it would be worth persevering to try and sell come the next day, or... if he should just eat it whole after cleaning it some first.

You all eventually retire to your rooms for the night, reflecting on the events of the past day. Sizan, you do recall the location of an arcane components shop and it's possible they could be interested, though you don't expect it would fetch a significant price. Perhaps 1-2 dragons.
You wake in the morning, prepare for the day and head downstairs. The are about 6 tables of patrons here along with a few singles at the bar, likely many of which stayed the night. Durnan isn't there, nor is Bonnie. There is a half-elf woman tending to the tables. No one is behind the bar but there are sounds coming from the kitchen. Dori is the last one down.
Volo had said he would meet you at Trollskull Alley in the North Ward mid-morning. You have perhaps 2 hours, though it will take some time to get there. What do you wish to do?
With a plan in mind, Yazara gathered up what outdoor ice he could outside, and packed it in with his prize before heading to bed. Though not without taking out the paper bird next and contemplating on it...
Come next morning, Yazara got up a bit early than normal for breakfast. "Damn. So much for that."He mutters as he fishes out some jerky. Swallowing it whole after slipping it past his mask, he gives the half-elf woman a brief nod in passing on his way over to sit at the bar. "2 hours.. hmm... Might be enough time."On that note, Yazara resolves himself to at least wait ten to fifteen minutes on the others. And when they do, he waves them over immediately.
If they weren't around by then, he gestures the half-elf over, and passes her a note. "For the... can he -- For Black Dragonborn, Gargan. If you could be a dear and pass it along to him when he comes down." Afterwards, he takes off, fairly confident he could meet the group on the way, if not back at the Yawning Portal. The note conveyed as much, stating he had important business to care of, but would be back, if not meet them there. Once he had the creature sold for at least 2 or 3 if could manage it, if not more, he follows through with his plan to meet back.

Having come down for breakfast and received Yazara’s note Gargan would take his time over some simple eggs and a hot brew while awaiting the others to emerge from upstairs.
