So Cloudfur makes his way (more quickly perhaps) back to Trollskull Alley and the manor, where he finds Dori and Sizan doing the best they can to clean the place up. There is decidedly less furniture than there was when you left. It is approaching early evening, though Gargan has not yet returned.
What's next?
(Live D&D night for me so there won't be much until tomorrow. Interestingly you are nearly up to the same point they are).
After seeing that Gargan hadn't made it back yet with Cloudfur, Sizan frowns and worriedly looks out one of the nearby windows. "There isn't much time left." He mutters, and then properly addresses the remaining duo after hearing Cloudfur's piece. "Scarecrow attacks? That is certainly a unique problems. And I take it you would like to see the matter done sooner than later." He states more than asked, but paused long enough for an answer.
"I see... That is... It is, what it is. I will not be able to join you if you insist on attempting to settle matters tonight. Far more is potentially on the line in failing to make a certain rendezvous tonight." At that, Sizan will take out the tickets after having pocketed his own, and offer them to Cloudfur. "Here. For you and the others should you have a mind to go with me, if not after settling that other business. I'll write down some directions too."
(@Cloudfur Sidenote: Did he ever split the coin found from the sewers? I assume not, but just checking. And I assume Dori did not do the same based on that last exchange after Sizan entrusted him with his findings)

(I think time is getting a bit out of whack at the moment! My furniture guy has just offered to pop round this afternoon and we've just hit evening! doh! Although Gargan will still not return until the early evening... ;) )
Gargan
As Tally mentions the book shop owner Gargan nods: "Interesting, I will have to pay him a visit soon."
After Tally has inspected the letter and replies Gargan continues: "Of course I would expect nothing else sir, as you say we just met. I hope however that this is just the beginning of a good relationship, and in that same spirit please take these 25 dragons as a token for your time today and for when you visit to take measurements. Would you be able to pop round tomorrow for that? One of my companions mentioned that we have other business today I am afraid."
After the business is concluded with the furniture Gargan would then depart the shop with a polite handshake with Mr Fellbranch.
After then dealing with some other business in the Trade Ward Gargan would then head back to the manor.
(I'll leave the timing of the arrival to the DM of course!)
(OOC - Since it probably took Cloudfur a couple of hours to travel both directions I suspect he doesn't actually return until early evening - so there's plenty of time for the furniture guy to come visit etc before I get back - this should help Tanzier get everything timelined properly.)
(Yeah sorry I got a bit ahead of myself there. Perhaps best to have him come tomorrow anyway)
Gargan concludes his business with Tally with an agreement to attend the property in the morning. "I appreciate your gesture, though this is far too much for the little time we've spent. If you like I'll take it as a deposit towards the total cost, which will help get us started. I will look forward to seeing you tomorrow!". With that, Gargan sets back out.
With everyone gathered back at the manor, having made significant progress on cleaning it up, you must all decide who will attend the opera with Sizan. Also you note on the tickets that it says formal attire is required. It starts in about 2 hours and it will probably take about 30 minutes to get there from here.
"I for one am very much looking forward to a bit of opera, and of course to meet with your friend Sizan. I see from the tickets we may need some new clothes, does anyone know where we can get some new clothes at short notice?" The Dragonborn is clearly relishing the thought of a bit of culture for the evening.
As he tails off he stops a second and looks up to Sizan and adds "Oh, I meant to ask you friend. Why did you use the name Yazara when we first met?"
Whistling an odd little tune, the tabaxi wanders back in to the common room of the tavern and immediately notices it has been cleaned up and what appears to be pieces of broken furniture burning in the fireplace.
"Someone has been busy I see.....I have a job for us as well! It involves a scarecrow terrorizing the countryside."
He looks down suddenly as Sizan presses pieces of paper in to his paw
"What are these? What is this other business you need to attend to?" and then reads the tickets "Opera? you want us to go to the opera?"
He pulls out a comb from a pocket and starts to brush his fur to get the bits of dirt and small twigs.
Dori had no clue what was going on what so ever. Common was his second language, but it was a lot of gibberish going on. Operas, scarecrows, tickets. The goliath sighed as he looked over toward the bar where he assumed Lif was...
"One must stay as much in this city." Sizan stated as much in the brief pause. When asked about the tickets, he just gestures brief to Gargan by way of explanation before offering a follow-up. "If you would recall last night's affair, there is a stone in this city. One with the potential to guide whoever wields it appropriately to a vast cache of wealth.... presumably. If nothing else, it should be taken out of play, so that matters between at least some of the big players of this city will settle down for awhile."
He lets that sink in for a moment before carrying on while looking over to Gargan. "I had wondered when that line of questioning would begin. But first to clarify. The individual we are to meet is not a 'friend'. Yet. But an acquaintance. And while I do no expect conflict, it pays to be prepared with so many pieces on the border." Sizan admits.
"As for Yazara, Consider it my 'street' name, as it were. As I could not be certain of a prolong relationship, I thought it best to use it over my own. And to be frank, if you or your fellows had been captured during the course that venture, and... I had been unable to procure your rescue in addition to my previous target, it would've made for convenient out of any obligations." Sizan admits dispassionately.
"I apologize if that seems cruel. But often in my many lines of work, a certain level of detachment is necessary... Which is why after tonight you might find it funny how I am aligned with certain friends."He folds his hands behind him. "As far as attire goes, there might be something more local. Otherwise, our best bet will be either the trades ward or further into the castle ward. A dray should cut the time."
Nodding in understanding Gargan is clearly not worried about it at all, in fact he gives you the impression that there might be more to that understanding that just the reasoning. “I understand completely, no apology is necessary. This individual I presume will have something they would like assistance with no?”
Turning to Cloudfur he asks “This meet appears to be on now, I hope the matter with the scarecrows is something we can investigate tomorrow? Though work will be greatly appreciated as I met with a fellow round the corner about refurbishing our lovely manor and it seems it will run us a good 2000dragons in the end.”
"Yeah I suppose the death of a few farmers and some animals can always wait till tomorrow...." and he'll frown a bit
"Perhaps Gargan, you can go with Sizan and I will take Dori with me and we can take care of two things at once! How hard can it be to kill a scarecrow."
Seeing Cloudfur frown genuinely hurts Gargan and a strange look appears across the dragonborn’s face. He is clearly unused to such emotions. “That is precisely why I asked friend, if the matter is urgent then we must deal with it. I would not have it any other way. As you say perhaps we can deal with both at once.”
Turning to Sizan he says “If you need help with your meeting then what Cloudfur suggests makes sense, though i would rather we could work as a four on both matters as always time is a cruel master.”
Aside from grimacing at the debt now on their heads, Sizan didn't react much to much after except to nod in agreement to the suggestion. "It is possibly for the best. Though I must admit, I had been looking forward to see Dori's reaction to the Opera, along with some side commentary as well." He chuckles without much mirth. After some clear internal debating Sizan hesitantly fishes out a Paper Bird, and offers it to Cloudfur.
"Though it would take some time to travel, write a message and speak the name of who wish for the message to go to in order to use this."He steps up close to Cloudfur and narrows his eyes at him. "I cannot stress enough that this is to /only/ be used in an emergency. So kindly keep that in mind. Understood? Because I will otherwise want it back."

Z'all good man. You were coming off a busy schedule. Nice investigation roll by the way, and another surprise out of Dori.
