"The Lady Mystra has touched you. She is the Mother of all Magic. That is where the magic comes from, the Weave that all magic draws its strength. You must nurture this gift Gwerk and use it wisely. Your boss would put it to evil use if he knew you possessed such a gift."
Devin considers Gwerk for a moment.
"Is there anything you can tell us about these giants the people spoke of?"

However, she stops just short to give Devin a look. "With your permission, as it seems more than possible that she is meant to be your acolyte, Devin... May I free her now?" D.O.R.K requests.

Devin looks at Gwerk with a surprised look, then at D, then back at Gwerk. Suddenly chuckling he answers her.
"Me? No, I can't teach you, I am but an acolyte myself. While I understand that Our Lady of Spells is the Weave, and that all magic comes from the Weave, how to do it or grow it within yourself is not something I can teach you. I do not know how it works within myself very well. I can use magic but it is almost second nature for me. I cannot explain it or teach it myself beyond it being a gift from the Lady Mystra."
He ponders for a moment. He wasn't sure what he was going to do with the goblin after questioning it. He couldn't really tie her up and leave her for the villagers to deal with if they returned. I suppose he knew he would have let her go. He surely didn't want a follower like D had in her two goblin pals.
"Leave this place and If you make your way to the hills north of Waterdeep you may find a friend of mine. She's a druid who loves all creatures. She guided me when I first learned of my powers. Tell her Devin of the House of Wonders sent you. Her name is Lara. That is the best I can tell you or aid you at this time."
Devin stands and stretches his back.
"We can untie you now if you promise not to attack us."
"Stick with us? What do you mean by that? There isn't any 'stick with us'. That's not how this works. We are not here collecting goblin followers, we are investigating the appearance of these giants. You are going to have to find your own way in this big world Gwerk."
Devin isn't being stern or upset, he just lays out the situation as he sees it.
D.O.R.K had been watch the exchange with rapt attention after a time. So, when Devin denied Gwerk, her eyes flicker red as she stares at the cleric. Without a word initially however, she began undoing Gwerk's bindings. "... I, for one, think she should come with us, and learn from you." She glances over to Cleric. "It has taken me over a decade to come to terms with it, but no deities -- not even the Mother's -- plan for us can be laid out clear to those that walk this lands, swim it sees, or flies it skies." She looks back to focus on her work.
"You might be frightened at the prospect, but this journey will challenge us in a number of unexpected ways. This is one of them. And ultimately, there are no greater teachers than our peers and experience. Embrace this, Devin, Servant of the Weave Maker, and learn to grow from it. Or don't."While Devin thought on that, D.O.R.K says to Gwerk. "If you continue with us, it will mean facing judgement from your former peers, this boss 'ark', and possibly far worse dangers. Query: Do you accept the risk?"

Torunn stands up, gives a loud yawn, "Are we done here? Time to move on." he says, it being pretty obvious that he hasnt paid any attention to the conversation. He turns a looks at the third goblin and it dawns on him. He sighs and then mutters, "Soon we will be more goblins than, actual acolytes.."
He then realises he probably said that too loud and chuckles, "Oops, my bad."
Gwerk stands up and as best she can looks both Devin and D.O.R.K. in the eye and proudly says “Gwerk can look afta ‘erself. Afta all she is a gal Goblin and ‘as ‘ad to do tat all ‘er life. If Devin does not want or need ‘er dat is fine! What Gwerk meant was she would leave once Boss ‘Ark ‘as been dealt wit an' tis safe ta go!”
D.O.R.K stood up with a huff and puts her hands on her hips as she watches Devin walk away. Afterwards, she glances over to Gwerk and says, "He just needs time, Gwerk, Chosen of the Weave Maker. I'm sure he'll come around eventually. Until then, you should keep close, and look out for him." She looks over to Torunn. "At least that is what Mother would've suggested. Ye who is of little faith." She teases(?). Her attention shifts again to Meiva. "You have my thanks, Meiva. Unfortunately, as time is that much more of the essence, appropriate appreciation procedures will have to wait. Let us finish up out search quickly for clues and suvivors, and take care of any lingering patrolmen before they can rejoin the main host."
She looks over to Jaylen and Kella(who presumably has been helping her with the horses?), wave them into hopefully following Devin. "Beedo. Vark. Front and Center with me. We shall cut around to the back, and check out the fields before making our way in to the south(large) building."

Exploring the rest of the Village (Part 3 – D.O.R.K., Meiva and entourage)
I know this only applies to D.O.R.K. and Meiva but I thought the other players would get a giggle out of it.
Having seen Devin head off to explore the two cottages, D.O.R.K., Meiva and entourage set off to explore the two farmyards adjacent to cottages in the southeast quadrant before looping back to explore the Trading Post. They catch-up to Devin standing in the street at the first cottage and continue on their way. Gwerk, obviously torn with wanting to stay with Devin but knowing he does not want her follows the other slowly down the path. As D.O.R.K. and Meiva turn into the gap between the two farmyards, Gwerk is about 30 feet behind them looking forlornly back at Devin.
As the four of them approach the second farmyard, they can hear what appears to be squeals of delight coming from inside the farmyard. Beedo and Vark who are leading, peer over the farmyard wall, which D.O.R.K. and Meiva being taller can easily see over. On the other side they can see two goblins wearing pumpkins on the heads, completely covering their faces, playing a game of ‘Blind Tag’. Beedo says to Vark “by the Lady of Strategy's ever watchful eyes”he turns to D.O.R.K. to see if he has got the imprecation right “what are those two blithering idiots, Blik and Flik, up to now.” He yells out in Goblin "Blik și Flik, ce faci idioții?" One of the Goblins takes off his pumpkin, it is hard to say whether it is Blik or Flik, because when the other takes off his pumpkin, the party can see they are identical twins. The dilemma is soon resolved because the first one says ”Flik it’s da Boss, Beebo." He then looks at Beebo and says ”wot yuh wont Boss!”Beebo yells back ”quick you idiots, show the ladies here yuh ’armless.””Duh OK Boss” they both say in unison as they pull out their knives and start sawing at each other’s arms. Beebo just does a face palm! ”Harmless I said as in not dangerous.””Duh OK Boss” they say as they drop their knives and drop face-first in the dirt with their arms straight out in front of them.
D.O.R.K had tapped her chin a few times, but eventually gives Beedo a thumbs up. It wasn't quite right as it leaned more so on the side of Helm's 'thing'. But it was good for a fresh recruit! What happened afterwards, however... well... D.O.R.K started to snicker.... and then giggle... and then erupted into a full blown out belly holding laughter with the occasional teapot whistling wheeze and static sounding snorting from amusement. She eventually falls onto her back and rocks back and forth to side on the ground, still laughing.
If allowed to, a solid three to five minutes pass of this before she abruptly stops, gets up, and declares with her hands thrown in the air, "I like'm!!" She then looks to Beedo and Vark. "Though their loyalty is admirable, I do not believe they can be Acolytes of the Lady, unfortunately. Maybe Tempus though.. Hm... I defer to your judgement, my acolyte, on what to do with these two."

Maybe Tempus though.. Hm... I defer to your judgement, my acolyte, on what to do with these two. D.O.R.K. asks Beebo
The following post assumes that D.O.R.K. has not yet had time to explain to Beebo the relationship between the Red Lady and Tempus.
“Um BossLady is this Tempus bloke the God of Oxen” Beebo asks D.O.R.K. ”cos while I luv dese idiots like bruvers, all dey is good for is carrin’ stuff!” he finishes with. He turns to Blik and Flik and says ”get your stuff together and bring up the rear. Oh and by the way don’t annoy the ladies.”The group now larger by two more Goblins moves off towards the Trading Post. This was the building that the now dead Jilk ran out of. As the party approaches the building, they can see above the entrance a circular blue shield emblazoned with a stylised golden lion. As Beedo and Vark enter the building, Beedo turns to Vark and says ”Vark me mate, I tink we jus’ ’it da mudder lode!”
"Mother likened him to such due to the amount of well-built men and woman attracted to the faith... But no. He is a God of War, Foehammer, and for all intents and purposes to some within the Red Fellowship, our order, the Father of the Red Knight." D.O.R.K expresses as the two Goblins fall in line carrying long-damaged pumpkins and a smile in their hearts. She paid them so much mind more than Vark and Beedo; but, not as she did Gwerk. Before she can say anything however, she wound up distracted, and going on inside after the duo. "Query: What have you two found this time?" She asks, marching along behind them.
