"That is one truth, as it is unlikely that they will be able to catch you unawares. Even so, there are other risks to consider."D.O.R.K admits. And yet, after a look to the tower herself, she shakes her head. "If you insist, and have a means of communicating past that-..." She gestures over the boulder. "Without it being rolled back on you, then so be it."

Lukian walks toward the tower, keeping his eye out for anything dangerous. As usual, he carries his shield in his off hand. In the other, he carries Dawnbringer, her glowing blade extended. Telepathically, he asks the weapon, "Can you listen for other minds around you? If the giants are lying in wait, will you know and be able to warn me?"
"Can you listen for other minds around you? If the giants are lying in wait, will you know and be able to warn me?"
What Dawnbringer says in response
"I cannot detect thoughts so I cannot tell what if anything the giants are thinking but I suspect it will be nothing more complex than something to do with food. However as you can speak Giant so to can I. Do you want me to hail them?

Lukian stops 20 feet away from the boulder. "Yes, do that," he responds to the blade.
What Lukian hears….
“Righto here goes ….”
(OOC I was hoping you were going to command Dawnbringer to hail the giants)
And then ….
The party sees a pulsing nimbus of bright light – almost as if the sun had just crested the horizon – instead of going down as would be normal at this time of day. The all hear Dawnbringer’s voice in their head but unlike normal this is a powerful as the pealing of several bells.
“MY LORD AND MASTER, HE WHO SHINES OUT WHEN ALL ELSE IS DARK, HE WHO WIELDS THE POWER OF THE DAWN THAT BANISHES THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT, HE WHO SERVES THE ROSE AND GOLD GOD, ALSO KNOWN AS THE MORNING LORD, WHO IS PERFECTION INCARNATE AND IS GOD OF THE RISING SUN, GROWTH AND VITALITY COMMANDS THAT YOU COME FORTH AND PAY OBEISANCE TO HIM!”
"That is certainly one way to attempt to gather attention. Though perhaps not the most effective for gluttonous creatures."D.O.R.K nonchalantly commented, seeming unbothered now by the voice in her head. Both Goblins however clutch and pull down the ears in futile attempts to try and block out the voice halfway into the shout. But, it was to no avail.
As Beedo is complaining and cursing up a storm from atop Golemgote, D.O.R.K squats down to whisper something to Vark. Following a curt nod from the quieter of the Goblin pair, the construct then called over to Devin. "Is there any chance that your flying cat friend can do an aerial surveillance over the top of the tower, or through the windows in this weather?"

"I'm sure he could but I have no way to have him report what he saw. I don't speak cat so I wouldn't know what he saw. Not sure that will help much." Devin replies.
"If he's smart enough, I'm sure he'll find a way. If not, then... hm..."D.O.R.K would look towards one of the windows and the wall its on, contemplating another method.
(@Grant: I assume it'll be difficult due to the rain, but does it seem possible to scale the outer walls? Or would that require a check to be even certain its possible?)

"No," Lukian quickly says aloud and then telepathically. "That was ... no," he limply finishes telepathically. He clears his throat and yells, "Hungryfella?! We've come to meet your stepsisters!"
(@Grant: I assume it'll be difficult due to the rain, but does it seem possible to scale the outer walls? Or would that require a check to be even certain its possible?)
1. It takes D.O.R.K. a couple of minutes to scale the small hill given the driving rain and then inspect the walls. The age of the walls would normally make it an easy check (DC10) but I will apply the visibility modifier (-4) for heavy rain for a total of DC14.
2. As D.O.R.K. makes his way towards the tower, Devin will need to decide if Aslan is being sent on a scouting mission?
Meanwhile as D.O.R.K. is making his way towards the tower, Lukian bellows "Hungryfella?! We've come to meet your stepsisters!" In response he hears several voices squabbling in Giant over food and then Hungryfella bellows back "not now! Eating! After dinner but only if no more nasty voices in head, voices must go 'way!"
"It seems the sisters are either less lazy then expected, or Hungryfella was more successful prior to our encounter with him than estimated."D.O.R.K simply stated in response to Lukian's gesture, then looked back up the tower. "We could entice them with more food, as he has yet to retrieve those carcasses from the cart. That said, this does present opportunity. Wait here. I will attempt to get a look inside."With that said, D.O.R.K manuevered her way around until she found a good starting point, and began trying to scale the tower up for a peak inside one of its windows. Between the rain and distraction of food, she feared slipping more than being discovered mid-attempt.
Ebonitus moves forward to the base of the tower, and using the helm of telepathy, scans the inside of the tower using detect thoughts which will detect creatures and their surface thoughts (no save) within 30', so long as int >3 and the stone is less than 2 feet thick.

"Well Aslan, if you wish you may fly up with D and see what you may. I know you understand my words but I am not sure how you will tell me what you saw. How about you go watch the giants and if they fall asleep after eating you come land on my head." Devin says to Aslan.

Aslan, for his part, looks out off of houdah where he has been curled up sleeping. He looks at the rain and back at Devin. He then seems to almost give a disdainful look as if upset that Devin would ask for such a favor in weather that is clearly not warm and sunny. But he launches into the air and flies up to the open window and looks into the tower.
Aslan flies off into the rain and after about five minutes - simultaneously with Lukian yelling out to Hungryfella and getting a response - comes back and lands in the howdah where he looks at Devin with utter disdain such as only cats can do - particularly when they are very very wet - before starting to groom itself.
"Well you silly cat, you were supposed to stay up there longer than that. But I suppose its hard to ask you to stand in the rain for a long time." Turning to the others,
"I don't think they took a nap after eating. Or they aren't done eating yet. Do we just wait? They aren't flinging rocks at us so that's a good sign."
With that said, D.O.R.K manuevered her way around until she found a good starting point, and began trying to scale the tower up for a peak inside one of its windows. Between the rain and distraction of food, she feared slipping more than being discovered mid-attempt.
At the same time as the cat comes back - or a bit later - D.O.R.K. comes back from his reconnaissance "its harder to climb than I thought" she says "but I did manage to get up to the first window. There are two floors: on the ground floor there is a Hill Giant which seems to be tethered and I counted four pairs of legs dangling from the platform which makes up the second floor" she reports back.
Toruum looks around at the driving rain "don't reckon you'll need misty step in this lot!"
