Torunn turns as D.O.R.K mentions his name and the armor. He just grins, "Yes I will help with the armor, but it was always the goblins project that I would oversee. He only had to approach me if he needed help."
Lukian walks to the center of the room and sits cross-legged. Looking around at the others, he says, "I suggest we all pray for safety and direction. Our host appears to be trustworthy, but looks can be deceiving."
Lukian's head jerks at Meiva's words. He raises an eyebrow at his sister elf. "Afraid of heights, little one? Come, take your mind off your situation by praying with me."
After Gol was brought in Devin looked around the room. Not seeing much beyond the table he settles into a spot against the wall. The spot, if one is paying attention, appears to be opposite of wherever Beedo and Vark settle down.
Aslan lifts off and starts to fly around, sniff the corners and eventually settles himself onto the table where he watches everyone after receiving a warning from Devin to stay out of the second level.
Daily he'll eagerly take part in D's training sessions working on his staff skills.
As D.O.R.K. finishes his speech, Goelmogote squeals in alarm as he suddenly finds himself full size again. I trust that Beedo wasn't playing 'Silly Buggers' with cart lifting it over his head and somesuch because it too has reverted to full size.
Indeed! Though there is still a close call for being too near for both Beedo and Vark. Beedo manages to dark souls roll away in time, but Vark… Vark can be seen sailing over D.O.R.K towards the tail end of the speech, subsequently crashing atop the table.
"... I'm fine... *cough*!"
Vark crawls his way to the edge of the table, and peers down the edge. "Uh... Fookin giants." He mutters as Beedo comes running over to help Vark down. Somehow...
Though if Vark sees food just laying around atop it, he makes sure to stuff some into his pockets at some point.
Torunn turns as D.O.R.K mentions his name and the armor. He just grins, "Yes I will help with the armor, but it was always the goblins project that I would oversee. He only had to approach me if he needed help."
The red glow intensifies for a moment, and then.... sharply returns to their neutral yellows. "Good to hear. I will endeavor to remind him as needed. But do not think that lets you hook for slaking in your... overseeing." She says, sounding almost chipper in her synthetic way.
Lukian walks to the center of the room and sits cross-legged. Looking around at the others, he says, "I suggest we all pray for safety and direction. Our host appears to be trustworthy, but looks can be deceiving."
"Query: You have difficulty understanding the nature of other fles--beings too?"She pauses. "Clarification. Oh. That was saying. Disregard my earlier statement. Though it should be said, I pray that we are appropriately tested in this environ, as it is a rare opportunity for such occurrence." D.O.R.K says as she made her way over to overseer her goblins 'rescue' operations. At one point she summons some type of hook ended weapon. Despite her efforts however, neither tying a rope to it and floating it up or hooking Vark by the scruff of his clothings end well.
There is many, many, MANY awkward apologies from the construct after that...
A gentle journey to the Northwest - Days 5 - 10, Second Tenday, Month of Eleasis
The castle drifts generally northwestward for the next five days. It maintains a height of about 5000 feet above the ground which means that as its passes over the highest peaks of the Forlorn Hills, a desolate series of windswept granite hills with low lying vegetation and stunted trees and snow still on the northern slopes. The taller trees are only to be found in narrow vales where there is some protection from the wind, it reaches an height above sea level of close to 10,000 feet before dropping down to pass over the lowlands on either side of the Dessarin River that constitute the Dessarin Valley, a vast tract of fertile land stretching north from Waterdeep to the Surbrin Hills. The Long Road hugs the west border of the valley, which is hemmed in on the east by the High Forest and the Forlorn Hills. The valley is dotted with settlements, farms, and isolated homesteads, yet most of it is unsettled.
Zephyros pops down to talk to his guests at least twice a day so feel free to RP out any interactions with him you like.
Lukian's head jerks at Meiva's words. He raises an eyebrow at his sister elf. "Afraid of heights, little one? Come, take your mind off your situation by praying with me."
Meiva shakes her head, embarrassed to have said that aloud.
"Thank you, but I must complete my prayers alone."
Lukian simply nods at Meiva, neither affronted nor curious about her response.
At Uncle's first appearing, Lukian would ask if the giant has any books written in Giant he could read. "Ever since Lathander gave me my vision, I have been studying your tongue," the elf explains. "While I still have a long way to go, I am proud of how much I've learned in a short time. I know this time of effortless travel would be a good chance for me to continue my education."
The second time he sees Uncle, Lukian would question the giant about his faith. "Might you follow a deity, Uncle?" the elf asks. "My savior, Lathander, guides me and gives me purpose. Are you familiar with the Morninglord?"
Devin, when given the opportunity will question Uncle Zeph about the magic that makes the castle fly, how old the castle is and how the device he used to shrink the elephant worked.
"This castle is most amazing. This might be the most amazing thing I'll eve see in my life! What an experience! Riding in a floating castle!"
During the trip, unless specifically sort out (elephant armor, goblin armor, etc) Torunn secludes himself as he works on his next project. Carving the second wooden block into two smaller stocks, moulding any scrap metal Zeph provides into smaller barrels. Carving and engraving as he goes.

"Yes I do believe I have some books that might be of interest to you" Zephyros says. Shortly after this conversation after Zephyros has returned to his chambers on the first floor several books float down down from the hole in the ceiling. The first one is entitled "The Ordning, Its Genesis and Problems" - a discussion by Zephyros of the House Alv-venn and the second is entitled "The Moonshae Islands: An Arcane & Mystic Hotspot" - an exploration of the interaction of culture and magic on a remote island archipelago by Zephyros of the House Alv-venn and three other books entitled xxx, xxx & xxx (OOC: Lukian pick three titles of stuff you'd be interested in).
"Might you follow a deity, Uncle?" the elf asks. "My savior, Lathander, guides me and gives me purpose. Are you familiar with the Morninglord?"
"Yes I am familiar with the Morning Lord - not personally mind you - but don't you going trying to convert an old Cloud Giant. Your Morning Lord is a bit to exuberant for my liking!"Zephyros replies.
Devin, when given the opportunity will question Uncle Zeph about the magic that makes the castle fly, how old the castle is and how the device he used to shrink the elephant worked.
"Well young fellow, it is very old magic that we Cloud Giants have been able to access since time immemorial. Perhaps if you are interested I will take you up to the control room and show you exactly how I control the castle. As to making the elephant smaller, it is a power of my staff here, that I was actually given a long time ago by a senior member of you church"Zephyros explains.
(OOC: I am assuming that all of these conversations are not secret and everybody else can hear them.)

The next morning, Toruun wakes to find a pile of scrap metal next to his bedroll
Three other subjects: The cultural, historical and physiological differences between the giant races; a history of cloud giant royals; and a fiction book.
"Uncle Zeph!"Lukian says, looking at the volumes. "You are an author!"
At the giant's comment about Lathander, the elf's countenance goes stony. The muscles in his jaw harden, and the scar which runs along the side of his face seems to redden a bit. "Excuse me, then, sir," he says through thin lips. "I'll leave you to whatever kind of dispirited worship you prefer, then."

Over the course of the next four to five days, Beedo steadfastly avoids Devin almost as much as the man avoids him. Whenever their eyes do meet however, he always throws out some rude gesture. Over half of which results in him getting either popped upside the head by Vark to focus on other things, or earn a disapproving look from D.O.R.K. At least he 'felt' it was one, even if anyone noticing the exchange merely see her staring blank faced at him. Fortunately, the two aren't made to interaction much as D.O.R.K's morning drills, work on his armor (with Toruun's and sometimes D.O.R.K's aid), and -crash test dummies- training sessions with Mr. G kept him largely too occupied to get up to anything. That, and occasionally attempting to watch Torunn at work on his latest gun project. It is the only time EVER Beedo is silent
Vark, for his part, takes a special interest in training Mr. G. in that time when not otherwise occupied helping others. While there are some close calls and accidents in the process -- most involving being turned into a goblin bowling ball whenever upsetting Mr. G too much -- he keeps at it alongside D.O.R.K in expanding his repertoire of skills. Or trying to, at the very least. Mr.G no longer crushed the life out of him whenever asked to lift the goblin up to the table, or other high places. He even taught him to do a sort of high five. Surprising no one, Beedo at one point gets ideas from observing the lifting training, and tries to convince the big galoot to raise him high enough to reach the next level...
One of the tower walls has the faint impression of a goblin in it since that attempt. He wisely chose not to try again after some serious mending and promises from D.O.R.K to let him stay embedded the next time...
Knowing the importance of her brother's work, D.O.R.K relegates herself to helping with training Mr. G, and standing vigil outside during moments of respite. At others, she tries to coax Meiva into doing the same, citing it as a necessary trial to take now before it is too late.
On the Fifth Day:
"Query: Master Zephros, in your long life, have you ever encounter a being like me? Additional Query: Can you think of any dragon of this age who would hold an exceptional vehemence or connection to your people?" It takes some time for her to work up the nerve. Five days worth of time. But she does so, when all have been given a chance to speak to him.
"Query: Master Zephros, in your long life, have you ever encounter a being like me? D.O.R.K. asks
"Personally I have never encounter a being like yourself but I have heard - well at least my friends tell me - that when the need arises, a god or gods will allow the creation of a being such as yourself. I must say the craftmanship that has gone into your making is truly remarkable and your creator should be congratulated!" Zephyros replies
Additional Query: Can you think of any dragon of this age who would hold an exceptional vehemence or connection to your people? D.O.R.K. asks
"The enmity between dragons and giants goes back eons and I suspect that there are several Great Wyrms who have an enmity for the Giant Folk. Whether they are acting upon it, I cannot say?" he replies.
Devin bows to Uncle Zeph. "That would be an honor and something I am most interested in! I thank you for the invitation."
At he mention of his church. "The Lady Mystra has done so much for me, I could never tell in words how much the House of Wonder means to me. It really is filled with wonders. And the lady, oh the lady..." His voice trails off.
Give the chance Devin would also be interested in the books the Zeph brought Lukian and would take an opportunity to read them as well.
Lukian visibly relaxes as Zephyros explains his answer concerning Lathander. Finally, the elf looks a little ashamed of himself. "I apologize. I have suffered some indignities due to being the only follower of Lathander in my village." He unconsciously scratches the scar on his cheek. "And so, I have developed a sudden and generally uncontrollable negative reaction toward anything which could be construed as criticism toward my Lord. I pray you will forgive my assumption of our most gracious host." With his right hand, he delicately touches his right ear, the corner of his right eye, and then rests the same hand over his heart. He then also gives a slight bow.
Over the course of the trip, besides spending time in prayer and silent reflection and spending many hours reading the books he was lent by Zephyros, the elf also has daily exercises involving his weapons. He is graceful and appears well adept at both the longbow and longsword. He also takes great care in repairing his target, which is generally a table leg, and his weapons with a mending spell. When casting this spell, pink marks each of you have spotted at one time or another on his palms that appear to be either burns or a kind of tattoo, glow faintly. He also spends time watching the others as they go about their daily activities. He does not hide his curiosity, though he is content to watch and generally does not ask questions. He is especially interested in the goblins.
When given a chance, he asks Beedo or Vark (whoever is near — I'll let Orileo decide) how they came to be acolytes of the Red Knight.
Devin bows to Uncle Zeph. "That would be an honor and something I am most interested in! I thank you for the invitation."
At some time over the five days, Zephyros says to Devin "come and I will show you the control room." He looks over at Lukian and continues "perhaps you had better come as well?" He then takes them to the centre of the room and says "Suas". Immediately Devin and Lukian feel a lot lighter as they float up through the hole in the ceiling. They find themselves in a room with an 80-foot-high ceiling and tall, slender windows set with panes of stained glass. Furnishings include a giant-sized bed and an enormous wooden chest. Stone shelves protrude from the walls at heights of 20, 40, and 60 feet, and these shelves bear the weight of Zephyros’s vast collection of journals.
Floating 10 feet above the floor is a 7-foot-diameter sphere of thin, polished mithral with a large skye (cloud) rune embossed on its outer surface. Zephyros then touches the orb and you feel the castle come to a halt. It then slowly rotates in a clockwise direction.
Meanwhile downstairs on the Ground Floor, the other party members feel the castle come to a halt and then rotate through 360 degrees before starting up again. Shortly after that Devin and Lukian appear from the floor above and drift back down to the Ground Floor.
When given a chance, he asks Beedo or Vark (whoever is near — I'll let Orileo decide) how they came to be acolytes of the Red Knight.
Lukian likely catches the two together lounging around in the door. As whenever they are at work training or managing special projects, D.O.R.K either intervenes or Beedo, despite being a chatterbox, promptly shoos away anyone not helping him with the armor. Even Vark the one time his fellow goblin bothers to while waiting for Mr.G to finish eating or resting.
The duo are still reticent at first, and spend at least a good long moment just trying to size the elf up again. "Ehhhh…." Both goblins emit, then look to each other. "She ky'na of made us join, or--Oww! Geeze! Jus' kidd'n. Fookin nines, mate!" Beedo says, glaring at Vark after getting clipped upside the head. "Boss Lady offered. Said my brovah 'n I get paid. 'cept..."Vark starts to clarify, but then gets this real thoughtful look about him. "Pretty much it, ain't it? Said we did'n even 'ave to scrap if we ain't wanna. 'nd could skip out at annny time if fings get a wee bit 'airier 'an a bugbears ass. Course we 'ad to anyways, see'n as 'e o'er daft ****s could'n take 'e hint 'nd scram. And 'ark 'ere, even if 'e ain't say it at the time, was fix'n to get back at some worgs we rode in on fer a bit." Beedo explains.
"Carfartic moment." Vark nods proudly. "Yeah! Plus, boss says we get a bonus w'yn we do good. So, it was a win-win! Sucks I 'ad to leave 'at helmet behind."If allowed to, Beedo eventually launches into a full on tangent detailing the story about their travels with the group full to the brim with embellishments here and there. Vark interjects at points with humbler accounts, but largely lets Beedo run wild with his story; painting Devin always as cowardly and stuck-up, Meiva as quiet but helpful, Torunn as much of an absolute badass as himself, and Jaylan as lazy and sneaky as a bugbear, yet at least 'better' than Devin.
Strangely enough, as much as he hyped up his own and Vark's involvement in things, D.O.R.K's own part in the tangent is left unchanged. As if he couldn't decide where or how to characterize her other than easily confused at times. If he hasn't driven Lukian away by the end, or been goading back to the question of how they came to be, he says, "Between you and me. I at least did'n really start buy'n into this whole being an acolyte fing till the dreams start 'appening a ways back. Still don't, if I'm bein' strictly 'onest, but... I dunno. We killed freak'n giants, 'nd ain't died. Not a lot goblins can claim dat 'cept Sparn Firepants, 'nd 'is a liar. So maybe Boss Lady's Ma really is look'n out fer us instead of Big M. 'nd if she is, eitha means we're really are acolytes 'nd ain't know it, or Big M's 'avin' a gas at us."Vark shudders.

"Carfartic moment." Vark nods proudly. "Yeah! Plus, boss says we get a bonus w'yn we do good. So, it was a win-win! Sucks I 'ad to leave 'at helmet behind." If allowed to, Beedo eventually launches into a full on tangent detailing the story about their travels with the group full to the brim with embellishments here and there.
'nd if she is, eitha means we're really are acolytes 'nd ain't know it, or Big M's 'avin' a gas at us." Vark shudders.
