Since you have the wand, I'm going to raise the stakes here and give you 4 rounds before I roll for the third quarter encounter (and again for the fourth quarter at 8 rounds)
I will roll initiative once you all tell me where you will be placed to defend the gnome train.
Goes by rounds. At round 8, the gnome train has finished crossing and whatever spawns, if any, will be chasing. Or if nothing spawns, you're just done.
So I haven't worked in months because there are no daycares open for my kids and someone has to stay home to care for them. To be honest, my days are all getting blurred and I'm losing any kind of sense of routine. I am quite shocked that I haven't posted or prompted you all to keep this campaign going after several days of absenteeism.
But I assure you, I have no intention of quitting. How about the rest of you? Still interested in pursuing your characters and this story? No hard feelings either way. The world in a pandemic and having to deal with real life is no one's fault.
Ah, I am the hold up... Sorry about that. Last weekend was GenCon Online, and that completely consumed my time. (Then I had to catch up to other real life matters that I had put on hold up to GenCon.) I missed what had happened that weekend.
At least for me, as long as you want to keep going, I'd like to continue.
Like you say, there will be times that real life will keep us busy. This group seems dedicated, so I haven't worried too much when there are extended lulls. (I remember other PbP campaigns that folded without warning, but usually that was within the first month.)
If I don't see something posted for a long time, I might bump the thread to see if people are in the mood to add to the story. But if people are busy, I can wait for a better time.

Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
I'm playing in a couple more games, so the slow pace is just fine with me.
It's an interesting setting that I'd like to explore more of. We are still veeery low level though so the focus is more on survival right now, but hope dies last.
If this game folds - it leaves me with only one left - and that moved off DDB to Discord - I'd rather keep playing and hopefully this quarantine ends before the game does :)

lol, just got things going again and the wife and I decided to take another impromptu vacation. Heading out into the wild, away from technology for a week. See you all again next Monday.

If no one left is left on that side (gnome or party), follow them to the north before the bridge is removed.

Is the torch still good? Could Skameros grab it next round and use it to beat on an ooze?
Tabaxi with a penchant for shenans. He will....shenan again...
Nah. It's dissolving as you think that.
Narstin's turn.
Tough situation... Three allies down; 2 gnomes who came to help, who's recommendation you need to enter Blingdenstone and Skameros who is surrounded.
Yeah - 17hp was exactly what I had left

Fixed my mistake (thanks Rodolfo). Narstin can redo his turn.
So skameros is still down but the gnome is not?
That is correct.

@Quasimodal: Do you cross the bridge or stay on the far side when the gnomes pull it back?
If no one left is left on that side (gnome or party), follow them to the north before the bridge is removed.
