I just hadn't wanted to spend spell slots on healing the gnomes whlie we were there fighting because I was almost out of slots and wanted to have heals available if a PC went down :P. Now that we're retreating though, I'm happy to do so :D. If I'd used up slots before we retreated I'd have gone for the medicine chck to stabilize instead. That was my plan if we hadn't retreated too (move over and drag him away from the ooze, then stabilize him if possible)
Beegred was going to stay quiet, but you have just reminded me of a personality trait:
"I have trouble keeping my true feelings hidden. My sharp tongue lands me in trouble."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
@Quasimodal: Beegred seems to purposely avoid speaking about the drow, nor does he explain why you are in the underdark. If you are intentionally trying to omit information, then please roll a deception check. If the intent is to omit or deceive, then I will roll insight for Dorbo and Senni as one roll with advantage for the DC: 22
It really isn't us versus you, Kerrec. None of us is trying to "beat the system" or "beat the DM" or something like that. We left some stuck oozes behind (in XP advancement game), Rodolfo is giving away a very useful magic item, etc.
Your assumption that Quasimodal / Beegred would try to change his intent after seeing the roll is somewhat hostile and untrusting towards the player.
I was speaking around the fungoids and demons, because he isn’t sure what was going on back in Mushroom-ville.
The Drow prison was week ago. Beegred was answering why the were *still* in the Underdark. If the gnomes wanted different information, they should ask different questions. If they had asked for a list of everyone that attacked the party, he would have included “oh yeah, there’s a few Drow that are mad when we busted up their slave pens.”
He is as forthright as the gnomes. If they want to be friendlier, then Beegred will loosen up. If you think he should roll a Deception check, then the same should go for them.
Besides, the wand and the magic sword look Drow-ish, right? Beegred will consider that obvious (even though the lummox hasn’t said enough to make a coherent story).
(If the gnomes say, “what are you not saying?”, he will talk about Jubilex and the fungoids. He is just oblivious that the Drow are an important thing to mention, unless he gets prompted.)

If it makes things simpler, we can skip some of the role-playing. Have the gnomes ask about what happened before half the party (Narstin, Beegred) met the other half of the party (Skameros, Rodolfo).
They will find out some of the party members were captured by Drow, and that some of them were not.

I apologize if I came across as distrusting. I want to 'play' through this module as much as the rest of you and a toxic relationship between players and DM won't make that any fun at all.
I have the entire story of the module in my head, and I try to reveal it as I interpret the story should be revealed. But I don't have a feel for how well I reveal the story in your eyes. To make matters worse, I run this module for two groups, so I am sometimes confused as to what one group knows (or should know) and what the other does. For example, Beegred mentioned Juiblex above in relation to the Myconids, but it's Zuggtmoy that is in Neverlight Grove, not Juiblex. Yet Juiblex does play a part in this module, so now I have to go and research the thread to figure out what I've already revealed to keep things consistent.
Another example is the drow. In the module, they are supposed to be a consistent threat, always on the verge of catching up and recapturing the party. But I'm pretty sure I failed at portraying that for both of my groups. Yet it is foremost in my mind, but as Quasimodal explained above, to him the Demon Lord Zuggtmoy (and others that have been hinted at) makes the drow pursuit a minor issue. So when I read his post, I got the impression he was purposefully omitting a part of the story that is important in my mind but turns out to not be in his. This is why I intentionally came to the OOC thread to ask what his intent was, instead of assuming. And there's also roleplaying. What you the players know and how you roleplay your character adds another layer of depth to what I have to interpret.
Anyway, I completely buy into the view that Beegred sees Zuggtmoy and the 'corruption' of the Myconids as much more pertinent than the drow escape/pursuit which seems like ancient history now.
Oops, I forgot that it was Zuggtmoy. I was thinking "demon lord" and "oozes", so I automatically thought about Juiblex. (I remember that name from my AD&D days. Harder to remember Greyhawk/Elemental Evil characters like Zuggtmoy.) My bad.
I was making Beegred tight-lipped. I hadn't really planned ahead of time about hiding Drow or demons in particular., so that was my fault for not planning it better
He was giving general answers to their general questions, and not volunteering anything or making assumptions about what the gnomes want to know. If the gnomes are treating it like an interrogation, he is only going to answer what is asked. If they had treated it like they were helping refugees, he would have been more forthcoming.
I was thinking of the group as being half Skameros & Rodolfo, so I didn't think of mention being enslaved by Drow, when those two did not experience that. If you decide the gnomes want a longer interrogation, with all sorts of details asked, then the Drow events should come out... I'm sure they would be annoyed with Beegred. He is like Leon at the beginning of "Blade Runner": "what's a tortoise?"

Thanks Narstin - Skameros has a -1 to medicine so I wasn't going to try and stabilize them

A long rest? Cool! It's been a few months it feels like.
Checking in. I'm around and watching the main thread.
What's your expectation? I mean we all agreed to be walked into the city.

It's official. My brain has degenerated to kindergarten mush. I'll get to work on the next post.

Well, I should have rolled after you... now you get to change your intent since you know Beegred can't beat that DC. Live and learn.

That's fine. Roleplay your characters how you want. I just need to understand your points of view so I can respond accordingly.
Out of time for posting until tonight. Feel free to roleplay in The Foaming Mug.
