Bartering in my games are skill checks. You keep making skill checks, each one using a different skill (find creative ways to use different skill checks) until you drop the price as far as it will go, or until you accumulate 3 failures.
At tier 1, the checks are DC 15, and each success drops the price by 15%.

Edit: Dammit, posted in wrong thread, sorry about that. I'm going to copy it over, including the roll result (not re-rolling).

Yeah. Blingdenstone has an ooze problem... Everyone is aware that this Gelatinous Cube caught a gnome, who is alive but being digested as you decide what to do.
Oh I could - and split it in to smaller ones much to the ire of my teammates and further continue to damage my greataxe....I do have a tinderbox so I suppose I could light the torch.

Tabaxi with a penchant for shenans. He will....shenan again...
I would think that we have fought enough oozes for Skameros to know that Gelatinous Cubes don't have the splitting / acid-damage-to-equipment problems of other oozes.
Greataxe to your heart's content.

So, what do the rest of you want Narstin to do for his turn?
Hmm... Has Narstin used up all 4 slots for 1st level spells? Didn't we have a long rest recently?
I'd say a Cure Wounds (1st level, or upcast to 2nd if necessary) on the partially melted gnome guard... unless it is a completely melted guard.

Beegred is okay with being 7 hp down and 1 spell slot used. Heading out works for me. If someone wants a short rest, I will use hit dice, but I am not pushing the idea.

Keep going, until you get 3 failures or you drop the price by 60-70% (in this case, 4 successes).
Initiative:
Oh boy, more ooze

@ArgentTheWise: You're first btw.
@Argent: Unless I missed something, you haven't really taken an action yet. Btw, if you're holding a torch, you can't swing your greataxe?

Really? Have we fought a cube before? I'm not sure Skameros knows the difference.

At a table, this kind of thing would have been resolved on your turn. But PBP being PBP, I will allow you to retcon your action.
If you want to roleplay Skameros not knowing the difference between the oozes, then roll a history or survival. DC 10. (OPTIONAL!)
I can't honestly say I didn't know the difference myself either - so I'll roll

Valid question. Is the guard DED or just badly injureD?
The gnome is unconscious and dying. He's not dead yet.
What's the plan guys? Head straight into the Rockblight from here or rest first?
