Rodolfo would want to be 2nd in line so that he has someone to follow behind, but can otherwise keep his eyes open for anything interesting along the way. He's keeping his magical wand close at hand as well.
I would say go stealthily. Nobody knows what's up ahead and stuff in Underdark is almost never friendly.
Rodolfo will be looking around and trying to sketch a map as they go. He will also look for and bring with him some chalk-like material to create little tick-marks at intersections to make sure they can find their way back.
Since most of you are back, a user by the name of Tesservett has been private messaging me asking to join the campaign. Seeing as Grithik seems to be AWOL, what are your opinions on a 5th member, or that particular user?
If I do reach out, I would ask they they re-imagine Grithik so I don't have to do the mental gymnastics of explaining once again why allies suddenly show up and ask to join your quest for the surface. I'm getting lazy I guess.
Sorry about the delay. Yes, Beegred runs point, worrying about the local terrain and dangers, and letting the others worry about what direction to head or what looks interesting.
A fifth sounds good. They don't have to re-imagine Grithik if they don't want to. You could go with the generic "adventurer stuck in the Underdark when the gates closed due to the river of oozes, who sees their best option is to work with the motley mercenaries".

Thurnir, Mountain dwarf, Vengeance Paladin (dex based), will be meeting up when it makes sense. The sole survivor of a dwarf scouting party, a reformed criminal, he’s had a long, hard life already. More backstory to come..

Waiting for the others to pitch in too.
Orubis is not convinced this plan has merit. Back of the line
Paladin - warforged - orange
Skameros will keep the squishies alive and as I suspect Beegred will want to run point - Skameros will take up the rear then

I don't mind. Campaigns tend to stall out without a core 3 or so. And if we have 5 then there's a higher chance of keeping at least 3 going.
So, what's the plan?
Hmm, still no word from Beegred. Hope he checks in soon.
Sorry about the delay.

Ok, yay. Everyone is back.
Now, you're standing 30 ft from a scene that looks like a bunch of armed statues standing over a pile of corpses (bones by now).
Skameros and Rodolfo have chatted about it in the main thread, but I have no idea yet what you all want to do now.
Initiative:
Tonight is my RL game, and it happens it will be the last/final session for that OotA campaign!
I'll get a map ready to go for this combat Monday if not before.
Have fun with that last RL session.
Yay, Beegred finally gets to be "invisible" in complete darkness...

I think Orubis is going to lay out spike growth, but I want to see a map or a description before I mess up everyone’s avenue of approach
Paladin - warforged - orange
Welcome!
Beegred and Skameros are the brain trust of the team, but I see that Thurnir is a match for them.
(Or at least, Beegred thinks they are.)

Well, it's Monday and I spent the weekend on auto-pilot. Completely slipped my mind I had to make a map...
I will put it together tonight. Sorry for the delay.
