Sorry for the slow posting. This was a holiday weekend for me, plus I had company staying over, plus I had minor surgery and sleeping whenever I had a chance was too tempting. Anyway, back to normal.
I played people's movements and Narstin's action. Still have actions to play out. I figured it would be better to do it this way to allow you to adapt to the evolving situation.
I think I kept up with 1 post per day, so I haven't broken my own rules. I just expected to be able to keep up with my normal routine and that was a bit naïve of me. That's all.
Xilyrah really wants to kill the spear Orc, but I have a feeling he'll be finished off before she gets the chance. Maybe she'll cut off an ear and wear it around her neck.

Wow, those were terrible foraging rolls. But that was going to happen now and then. Eldath and Tozer should get the food this time, since we want to keep their high Survival rolls intact.
Beegred does not need any of the armor or weapons. Maybe use the spoiled meet as bait if we go monster hunting, otherwise dump it... I'd say, Tozer wears the backpack, and the coins should be in a common pool. Definitely not left with any of the NPCs.
If each of the waterorbs acts like a pound of water, then we are up 5 pounds right now. May want to have Tozer help out with the next food search. Do we know how long before waterorbs spoil?
Also: Beegred now has Darkvision (3rd level Ranger skill). I think that means momma Valthana is the only one without? If so, then it is possible the party can go without light on dark days, or maybe just enough light for Valthana not to trip.

Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
Valthana and Buppido are going to need to be convinced. Valthana wants half a pound for Stool. Buppido wants half a pound for himself. Buppido argues three can be fed instead of two. Valthana is just being motherly.
Group check (2 people roll, or 1 + help) Persuasion, Intimidation or Deception. Whatever you choose. DC is 10 for Valthana. DC is 13 for Buppido.
Tozer and Narstin are no help for these CHA rolls.
Let's have Beegred (Xilyrah helping) intimidating Buppido. Lots of people going hungry this day, he can wait his turn. If he doesn't like that, he can join Beegred in a dark side cave, and be the first person to experience Beegred's new skill, allowing him to be invisible to Darkvision (when in the dark). Intimidation Roll:6 (ugh, more bad rolls... Still not going to give the food to Buppido.)
For Valthana, have Xilyrah (with Beegred helping) do either Persuasion or Deception, her choice.

Yah, painting and blessing the emblem on his shield to be usable as such is narstin's top priority whenever he has time.
Also, I picked up Create or Destroy Water in my prepared spells, so probably better to lean more towards food foraging since I can create some water if needed, and at level 3 now i'm not QUITE as short on spell slots. I also prepared Purify Food and Water in case it's needed. Would that work on spoiled meat?
At least for next day, have the same foraging, except Tozer also looks for food. But that Create Water is a game changer, pun intended. (If we can find a sprig of mistletoe, then we'd have water & food covered.)
Do we want to rely on Narstin's spell for water every day? Or try to make it a 50/50 chance of finding enough water without the spell? (Wondering if we are reducing the water manpower a little bit, or going to almost zero.)

Yes, purify food and water will make spoiled meat edible. And for the record, you can eat spoiled meat too. Just requires a CON saving throw to keep it down and not get sick from it.

I suppose we can adjust the foraging arrangement on a day-to-day basis, as needed.
An emblem has a cost of 5gp in the equipment section of the PHB. In a day, you have 8 hours of short breaks during travel where you can craft in spurts and you can gain another 2 hours during the long rest period, if you don't cover a watch shift.
Normally, you can craft 5gp worth of an item in 8 hours, but that gets doubled for having to use improvised tools. So the emblem will take 16 hours total.
The spider encounter where you found 'paint' was on day 3, so you could craft for half that day (4 hours). You kept a watch, so no crafting at night. Day 4 gets you another 8 hours.
So, by midday Day 5, your emblem will be working as a casting focus. (IF there's an encouter, it will be considered midday. Your emblem will work.)
1. With Narstin's spell to Purify Food, I think the group uses the 6 lb. of ex-spoiled food right away. Narstin and Tozer get the "fresh" food found. Everyone else eats the spell-cleansed food, except Beegred, Buppido, and Valthana. (I'd prefer not to risk CON saves vs. spoiled food, to avoid being some kind of poisoned.)
2. With Stool now eating, no longer need the Persuasion check.
3. For the shifts, permanently put Eldath into the third watch and Beegred into the fourth watch. (Depending on what happened with that horrible Intimidation roll, I think Beegred needs to keep an active eye on Buppido.)

Still following initiative order until the last orc's turn, at least.

No need to apologize. Rest well and heal up.

Day 4:
Day 4 skills checks:
11 gallons of water and 2 pounds of food.
Day 4 camp: Need to know if you're keeping the same initial order Quasimodal set up, ie:

@ Kerrec: I vote for keeping the initial order created by Quasimodal.

Ok then. Going into day 4 camp/rest, Narstin should check off 1 spell slot, in case there is an encounter.
