No on consuming more food to make up for lost days.
As for Neverlight Grove, Stool knows what direction it is in all the time. But he can't navigate to get there. The other NPC's either know how to get to Gracklstugh or Blingdenstone.
Apologies everyone. I'm in the middle of my busy work season and that sometimes delays me from posting.
I'd like to retroactively have Xilyrah in possession of the runed bones, just in case there are any magical elements to them. Is that permissible? And should/could she do an Arcana check?

When you ask if you can do checks like these, you can roll pre-emptively. If I say no, the roll isn't used. If I say yes, we don't need to wait further.

1) No light for Valthana, or at least only enough dim light that Valthana doesn't trip over her feet (Light cantrip, but heavily covered).
2) Keep Tozer on food, put Derendil on water.

I need to know if she is provided light or not.
As for dimming the light, that would have to be something you craft. Something that works a similar way is a Hooded Lantern, which sells for 5gp in the PHB equipment. So a bit of crafting to be done, even if you make something totally different that serves the same function.
Sarith manages to get back on the correct path and your party makes 6 miles of progress.
You gather 5 gallons of water to drink, with none left from the previous day. You have half of what you need and 3 waterorbs (another 3 gallons).
You gather 9 pounds of food plus the 14 pounds left over from day 5, leaving you with 13 pounds that will become spoiled.
How do you resolve your water shortage?
Reminder: drinking half your daily quota allows you to roll a DC 15 CON saving throw to avoid exhaustion. Not drinking is an automatic point of exhaustion.

Day 5 skill checks:
Day 5 skill check results:
Sarith loses his way for 6 hours.
Navigation: Sarith w/help from Buppido vs DC 10: 15 and you finish the day with 2 miles of progress.
Water: 9 gallons + 1 saved from previous day. Party starts day 6 with no water.
Food: The party finds 24 pounds of food (16 from Beegred, 4 each from Narstin and Tozer). 14 pounds left over after everyone eats.
Day 5 camp checks:
Guard duty during long rest:
Random Encounter:
Does anyone want to interject with anything before I move on to Day 6?
Do we consume 1.5 more pounds of food, to make up for the previous day's shortfall?
What was the result of Beegred trying poorly to Intimidate Buppido? Hurt feelings?I'm worried the lost progress. If Sarith keeps rolling poorly, who else in the group knows the way we want to go?

Go ahead and roll Arcana.
Thanks. It's a habit from table-topping ;)

Are we all good? Move on to day 6?
Most definitely.
Agreed.

Day 6:
I'm going to start ramping in some further story features from the module and to do that, I need one question answered before I proceed.
1) Seeing as Valthana is the only character without darkvision, do you as a party provide light for her while traversing dark tunnels?
2) Also, I need to know of Tozer goes back to foraging for water or continues to forage for food?
My votes would be:
1) No light for Valthana, or at least only enough dim light that Valthana doesn't trip over her feet (Light cantrip, but heavily covered).
2) Keep Tozer on food, put Derendil on water.
