OK everyone. I'm sure some of you have cushy jobs with lots of vacation time, but I'm back for real now and am looking to get this going again. At the pace we're going, I'm not sure we'll finish in 2020, but hopefully we'll be close to the conclusion.
So the situation is you're in a 'temple' that is being flooded with water. You've climbed to the highest point you can find and it appears to be a dead end. Rodolfo has cleared out the alcoves of all the gray ooze statues, Skameros has dredged the fountain's waters for loot, there's no apparent exit from this place and we're all talking about taking a short rest.
I was offering the short rest as an option because as I understood then each fight takes 15 minutes.. and clearing the 3 remaining alcoves would have taken 45 minutes anyways. So an extra 15 there would not make that much of a difference, especially some people being low on health.
Besides Rodolfo and Narstin taking out the oozes in those alcoves, I assume that they are checking if there are any hidden passages or switches in those alcoves.

Welcome back. Main question now is do you take an extra 15 minutes while Rodolfo and Narstin kill off the remaining Gray Ooze statues to take a short rest?
I don't have any better suggestions. If Rodolfo and Narstin can wipe out those oozes with their cantrips, all the better.
I'm uneasy about the time for a short rest, but again, I don't have any better suggestions. And Beegred needs the HP. If everyone is okay with a short rest, these are his hit dice rolls: 131212 He uses the first 2 hit dice, which gets him within 1 hp of full health.
So Beegred has already rolled his hit dice. Skameros can roll his. I will update the main thread with the new elapsed time. Still need to know your next course of action.
I sent a private message to Narstin regarding some details that have come to light during the exploration of this temple. We will have to wait for him to come online and make a post to continue on further.
I didn't mean break the ceiling in THIS room, with the altar and the fountain. I meant to make it clear breaking the ceiling in the natural cave you inspected earlier was plausible.
BUT!
I will roll with it. Narstin, being a dwarf, realizes the cracked alcove with the water seeping would collapse, allowing the temple to flood and he hopes leave a passage wide enough to climb through.
Guess this is like letting the car (underwater) fill up with water to equalize the pressure, before you can open the door to escape.
Just have to hope there is a bathtub above this room, and not a Great Lake.

Is there something Skameros can tie a rope to securely (like the base of the statue or something else) so he can tether himself to something so he doesn't get swept away when the crazy folk anger the water god trapped above us?

Do we have a consensus to take a short rest?

Do you take a short rest, given time is a factor?
I was offering the short rest as an option because as I understood then each fight takes 15 minutes.. and clearing the 3 remaining alcoves would have taken 45 minutes anyways. So an extra 15 there would not make that much of a difference, especially some people being low on health.
I agreed with Winenose for the short rest.

OK, so at a cost of another 15 minutes, everyone but Rodolfo and Narstin could take a short rest. Is that what you all do?
I'm back to work now after the holidays, so should e able to post regularly again.
@ArgentTheWise: On vacation?
I was, I'm back today playing catchup on two weeks of emails now hehe.

Then you all have to figure out what to do next.
Hmm yeah I could use to burn some hit dice...

Hmm, will give Narstin a bit more time, else I'll act for him.
Sorry, didn't really have a chance to get on yesterday. Off to check the PM and update!
Well, I seem to have confused Narstin.

Skameros thinks y'all are crazy

I can't think of anything else.

Sure, the fountain with the broken statue feet have plenty of places where a rope can be tied.
