Now I know I took some liberties with our introduction and mentioned grabbing a pack of supplies before I switched sides - if you'll allow that - is there anything in the pack that might be of use - other than like food and water (since Fanuco was bragging about our supplies)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fanuco was feeding the party gooseberries and summoned water. Some of your other bandit allies maybe had their own backup food, which is what you grabbed. This explains why you and Rudolfo have rations (from your starting equipment).
Seeing as there was a druid/ranger casting gooseberries, that means one of them had a twig of mistletoe. It wouldn't be beyond reason to assume they brought some spare ones, as it is an important component for the survivability of the raiding party.
So, I'm going to give you a 25% chance to find one in the pack, ie: on a d20 roll, if I roll 16 or higher, you find a twig of mistletoe: 16
Sorry for my absence. I was busy over the long weekend, then my computer died yesterday. Posting my phone, but will be a lot slower than with my computer
Rodolfo 2nd DEX save: 11 (also wondering - this is not caused by falling, right? It's like rolling rocks?)
You are not falling. But an 'avalanche' of stones, from gravel to boulders are falling/sliding down the slope from above to below. The party is navigating across the cave, through the falling scree, trying to make it out.
Well at least I've got a decent amount of hit points....I will need them all after that fail :P hopefully my gallantry in trying to help my party members doesn't blow up in my face :P
Attacks can 'critically' and fail or succeed, which just means it's an automatic miss or hit.
Nat 1's and Nat 20's for any other rolls don't mean anything. If you roll a Nat 1 on a skill check but you skill itself is high enough to beat the DC, you still succeed. And vice versa, if you roll a nat 20 of a a skill check, but the 20 + your skill is still lower than the DC, then you still fail.
Your nat 1 on a skill saving throw just means you're taking damage. No further consequences.
Rodolfo, as a reflex for getting hit by stones and taking damage, casts Feather Fall on himself and 4 closest people who seem to be having trouble as well.
I suppose we need to set up a new marching order for me to resolve this.
What will be your single file marching order? And what will be your marching order for tunnels/caves that are 10 feet wide (can stand side by side)?
Your nat 1 on a skill saving throw just means you're taking damage. No further consequences.
That's excellent news then!
As far as marching orders - I suspect if we're running with a scout of some sort they should be out front - and since not everyone trusts us newcomers - and because I'm a fighter I can be near or at the front of the line. and we can pack the squishier ones in between perhaps me and Tozer so we have a front/rear guard. I mean Krizz can run point too but that's probably better suited to someone with darkvision (perhaps Beegreg?)
Beegred would like to do a fireman's carry of the unconscious Valthana, so hopefully both of them can get out of the danger zone.
In case it is needed - Athletics: 14
For the next DEX save vs. DC 12: 20
In general, I want to enable my player's ideas. On the flipside, I want to get rid of NPC's... especially non module ones like Valthana. (Note, her failing her dex save and suffering that much damage was random, not forced by me).
So in this case, I'm going to quote RAW:
Your carrying capacity is 15 times your strength score. Beegred has a STR score of 12, resulting in a carrying capacity of 180 lbs. A Goliath is between 7 to 8 feet tall and weigh between 280 to 340 lbs + armor + bags, etc...
So I'm going to rule you can't outright fireman carry her. You can drag up to 30 times your STR in lbs, so you can drag up to 360 lbs with a STR of 12. However,
While pushing or dragging weight in excess of your carrying capacity, your speed drops to 5 feet.
So you can drag her 5 feet per turn, but the encounter assumes 3 DEX saves to cross the danger, and I'm assuming at the very least, if not dashing, a character should be moving their full movement.
Your character would know it would be suicide to try to drag a goliath far enough to be safe.
Oi she's a big one then - I didn't even realize that when I tried to pick her up on my turn - even Krizz would be hard pressed to pick her up with his 17 STR.
Goliath's are big and heavy. They have powerful builds, which allow them be considered one size larger for carrying and pushing calculations, so they can lift 30*STR and pull/push 60*STR. The drawback is most medium races can't lift or drag them, especially if they are carrying bags and armored.

Just waiting for the conversations to be resolved before we move on. If you feel there's nothing left to say, let me know.
I'm guessing because its a holiday weekend here in the states that the game will pick up again tomorrow

Rodolfo rolled the dex save (successfully) in post https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/d-d-beyond-general/play-by-post/27393-official-thread-out-of-the-abyss-by-kerrec?comment=1305
May I turn back the resulting 7 damage that the failed roll produced?
Yes, roll it back. My apologies. I'll edit the posts accordingly.

I'll have Rodolfo cast Feather Fall on a bunch of people.. if it applies at all, not sure if they qualify as falling, but he's going to try anyways.
