With the practiced blows of one who hows how to fight a Rocktopus, Skameros strikes a fatal blow, killing the second creature.
Eldeth moves between Beegred and Jimjar and stabs twice into the bulbous body of GR3, striking a vital organ and causing to Rocktopus to thrash about as it also dies.
Skameros looks at the hole GR2 was/is in and then pulls the corpse out and sticks his arm down the hole to see if there's anything down there, maybe baby rocktopus to eat or something.
Skameros shoves his arm up to the shoulder in the hole, feeling around for something tasty. Yet even his long arms don't reach the other end of the hole and when he pulls his arm away, it is covered in mucus and slime, leaving his arm fur matted in clumps. It also stinks something fierce.
Rodolfo says, "Any idea if they are herd animals or monsters? I mean we killed three, would that mean that there is twenty more close by or would you consider this now to be a fairly safe place to finish the rest?"
Beegred is too haunted by his nightmares to eat octopus, as much as he used to like it.
His focus will be on his remaining guard shift, but he will try to cut up some octopus "steaks" for the others. About 15 lbs total, since more than that will spoil before being eaten.

The party settles down again for a long rest and manages to complete it.
The next 'day' you set out and enter into a massive cavern with a deep chasm bisecting it. Dimly lit by some bio-luminescent fungus is a rope bridge in the distance that spans the chasm. The rope bridge is held aloft by four pillars resembling mushrooms. When approaching the bridge, the party is able to determine that the fungus sculptures are of exquisite quality, or actual living mushrooms.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Beegred will look for signs of foot traffic. (Hopefully the high Survival members like Narstin and Eldeth will also look.) Has the bridge been used recently? Does it look like traffic has gone both ways.
If there are only footsteps going towards the bridge, and none coming from the other side, that might be a wee bit troublesome.
(In case it is needed, Survival: 16 Active Investigation would be -1, active Perception +2. Passive checks for either of those two +5.)

There is a thick layer of dust over what must have been tracks some time long ago. (You did not get closer than about 30 feet from the near side of the bridge)
Rodolfo offers, "If we deem the bridge unsafe for any reason then I can make someone levitate off the ground and then move them. It can be up to 500 pounds total, so my suggestion is to use this on someone strong who can pick up another person, I'll send you both across to the other side, you drop off the other person and I'll bring you back. My range to do this is 60ft and this looks to be right around that distance near the bridge. We can do this even directly above the bridge just in case anything unexpected happens."

(Post #2207 and #2208 don't happen, because when Skameros approaches the bridge to cross it...)
Skameros grows impatient at Beegred and Narstin's staring at the ground, and knowing the party needs to cross to the other side, begins to approach the bridge with the intent to cross. When he gets within 10 feet of the mushroom carvings acting as anchor posts for the ropes, the carvings seem to suck in air and the mushroom caps turn a deep shade of violet. Four feelers unpeel themselves from the stem and cap and start to waive in the air.
Narstin: Looking at the ropes, they resemble the thick spider web ropes made by the Drow. The same ropes you saw in Velkinvelve was used to hold up entire platforms, bridges and creatures. It should be strong enough for everyone to cross. That would also explain why the bridge has survived this long.
Rodolfo: The mushrooms that appear hostile are also the anchors for the ropes. You think killing them may weaken the rope bridge.
(Beegred, Eldeth and Rodolfo act before the first mushroom)
(No map for this. Skameros is within 10 feet of one of the mushrooms. Lets say VF2 since it crit it's initiative. Everyone else is 30 feet away)
Skameros will try and get GR2 before it's gone

Rodolfo takes a look down into the chasm and also assesses the distance to the other side on the narrowest point within visual range.
Narstin will also help search for tracks. 19 (Using my own survival. -4 if it would be 'helping' beegred instead)
The bridge is the narrowest point. It's 60 feet across at the bridge.
Narstin doesn't find anything more than the dusty tracks Beegred is looking at.
Rodolfo offers, "If we deem the bridge unsafe for any reason then I can make someone levitate off the ground and then move them. Skameros looks at everyone standing around, and decides to walk across the bridge.

Rodolfo casts Levitate on Skameros, just in case.
He says, "You can pull yourself along the bridge, but you won't fall if something is broken"
Skameros doesn't float.....and he looks at Rodolfo strangely and continues on to the bridge.
