Rodolfo agrees to give Skameros a bit of a tail wind as he attempts to cross the pit with rope tied around his waist, but before Rodolfo even gets in position, Skameros has easily leapt over. Holding one end of the rope, the rest of the party carefully crosses the pit without further issue.
Elapsed time: 3 hours 15 minutes + 3 squares.
The party continues to climb the ruins of this temple and reach a central room.
This room contains a stone fountain with a raised edge. The basin contains shallow, brackish water. At the center of the pool, the rubble of a broken statue rest atop a pedestal. All that remains recognizable are a pair of clawed stone feet clutching the pedestal’s top. Carved into the walls are seven niches. Water seeps into one niche through a crack in the wall. The two niches that flank it are empty. Strange, formless sculptures occupy the four remaining niches (4x "S" on the map).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Beegred will swirl his magic sword through the water in the fountain, poking at the stone sides and bottom, searching for anything besides water. If there are translucent oozes hiding under the surface, they should react to being stabbed by the sword. And if there are any hidden panels (that activate a staircase to escape this place), hopefully the sword scrapping will reveal them.

You drag your short sword along the bottom fountain, stirring the brackish water. You can't feel any kind of panels or switches, however you do move some more substantial 'things' at the bottom. You can't tell what they are, as your stirring has clouded the water with old algae and other sediments.
Beegred: "There's something at the bottom, but the water is too deep for me. Hey Skameros, you've got long arms, could you pull them up?"

Rodolfo takes a closer look at the sculptures - are they formless in the same way to suggest intent or are they broken in various ways to have them left formless?
Looking at the sculptures around the room he arrives at the water-filled niche as well and says, "Beegred, want to check this hole as well?"
After Skameros has safely retrieved those objects, Beegred will check out the water-filled niche that Rodolfo is pointing at.

The crack looks recent, and not enough water is trickling out to have covered the floor and flowed downwards. The tremor that collapsed the tunnel you came from must have caused this crack as well. Water seems to be coming from everywhere. It seeped into the tunnels where you encountered the drow blockade, it pours out of the natural cavern you explored earlier, and some is seeping out here as well. There has to be a large source of water above.
When Skameros touches one of the shapeless statues, the form shimmers for an instant an where the shapeless form looked like sculpted stone, now there is a quivering living gray ooze.

Looking at the sculptures around the room he arrives at the water-filled niche as well and says, "Beegred, want to check this hole as well?"
The sculptures show no signs of breakage. They seem to be sculpted in a formless shape.

"Worthless trinkets...." Skameros mumbles and drops the items on the floor next to the fountain and shakes the water out of his fur.

Rodolfo gathers the items and puts them away, then takes a good long look at the remains of the central statue.
"Skameros, can you take a look at the ceiling as well? Does it look like a ladder or staircase may come down and take us to safety?"
The ceiling is built into a domed shape, where a large statue must have stood a long time ago. But there is no window or opening in the ceiling above.
'We need an exit not statues....." can Skameros pick up one of the statues and toss it in the water?
