Beegred and Narstin both immediately notice a shimmering mirage like aura around the silhouette of the ghost, as well as an increase in the volume of the sounds of combat that has been so elusive until now. Through the mirage like aura, the two can see fleeting glimpses of chaos, as shapes seem to dart to and fro, some chasing, others being chased.
(Beegred will inform the others of what he notices. He has no idea what it means, but maybe smarter minds like Rodolfo or Skameros can figure it out.)

The ghost seems to lean over, in pain as it clutches its chest. Then it looks around frantically, shying away and dodging things you can't see. Finally, it looks towards your party and seems to acknowledge your presence.
Beegred leans towards the others to whisper about what he sees around the ghost. Skameros stands, seemingly uninterested. Rodolfo and Narstin both stand ready in case
You watch as the ghost takes a deep breath and appears to scream something, although you can't hear any sounds coming from his mouth. Instead, the face of the ghost seems to stretch on an angle, the lower and upper jaw becoming misaligned as the mouth opens in a horrifying and impossible angle, like a snake unhinging its jaw to swallow prey. Instead of the sound you all expect, you instead feel a sense of dread wash over you.
Beegred easily shrugs off the feeling of dread, but is alarmed to see his allies shudder in fear. Even worse, Rodolfo and Skameros seem to age right before his eyes...
Theater of the Mind for this encounter. I'll say Narstin was in the lead, about 10 feet from the ghost. The rest of you are 5 feet behind Narstin (so 15 feet from the ghost).
Skameros screams in fright, and looks for someplace to hide (conveniently Skameros is 5 feet too far away to attack and has no more range weapons and can't move closer)
Skameros looks around frantically for a place to hide, but the party moved towards the center of the cavern to confront the ghost, and the only things to hide behind now are allies. Skameros bends over to try and hide behind Narstin.
Skameros DC 13 WIS saving throw vs. frightened condition: 5
Beegred: "I hate impolite ghosts." Moves to melee the ghost (and block off access to Rodolfo, if possible), casts Hunter's Mark, and swings at the ghost.
Magic sword Attack: 18 Damage: 12 (lucky to be Lucky)

As the ghost suffers a barrage of magic missiles, followed by a piercing strike from Beegred's magic sword, and further attacks from Narstin and Skameros, the ghost yells audibly this time, "The drow are coming! Everyone must hide!". With that, the ghost seems to fade back to the pale slightly contrasting silhouette and leaves at the pace of a running gnome.
(End of encounter)
(No XP for this. This encounter gives XP when another requirement has been met.)
Narstin quivers a bit as the ghost approaches him, and finally breaks and backs away from the creature, but still tries to summon a sacred flame to attack it as he does.
DC14 dex save or 4 damage.
Wis save: 16
(Nevermind. I somehow missed the DMs post at the end of th elast page. Last one I saw was beegred's.)
Narstin glances around, looking and listening for any signs of actual Drow coming.
Perception? 12 Disadvantage if needed from frightened still: 11
Paying particular attention to sound, you fail to hear or see any Drow. Or any other creatures for that matter. But what is most remarkable, is the sounds of battle are gone now. It is eerily quiet now. You almost feel like it was better before, where there was something to hear.
Rodolfo says, "This is far creepier than what they led us to believe. Lets see where the ghost ran. I'd rather not leave something like this unfinished."
Beegred starts to go in the direction Rodolfo pointed. (Starting slowly, to make sure the others are also headed that way.)

Beegred Perception check to follow the ghost as it flees: 21
Despite the bizarre nature of a ghost half in this plane and half in another, Beegred manages to spot the creature again and again the few times he loses sight of it. It continues to move at a gnome run, not always in a direct line as if avoiding something only it could see, towards the long abandoned living quarters. Following the ghost into a particular burrow, you lose sight of it completely. Instead, what you find is a long dead skeleton lying face down near a stone bed, one hand under its chest, the other reaching out underneath the bed. There is a uniform stain around the skeleton most likely resulting from decomposition of flesh and clothing. The burrow is bare, looted of any belongings of value, yet the corpse doesn't appear to have been disturbed from where it fell, unless it was intentionally placed with an arm reaching under the bed.
Rodolfo says in gnomish, "Hi, what seems to be the problem?"
He takes a Dodge action, just in case.
