Looking around and seeing they are still waiting he asks to do some physical repairs or cleaning around there, either with tools or magic (prestidigitation and mending)
Rodolfo keeps himself occupied magically cleaning dirty and bloody bandages, cots and the grittier tools of a surgeon; bone saws, scalpels, needles and other odds and ends.
“This sounds like something I can help with. The Mushroom Prince isn’t precisely merciful, but he is pragmatic.”Orubis gathers up some dust and rubs it into his hands to dry up some of the clamminess after the struggle with the ill man. “One of you pick a couple and see what we can clear, yeah?”
After a couple hours go by while some of you do your best to provide a helping hand, a child comes skipping along and begins to head towards the crypt. The head priest intercepts him and can be seen speaking to the child, occasionally pointing in your direction. The head priest introduces the child and informs you all that the child will lead you into the crypt.
You enter a short tunnel that abruptly transforms into a spiraling staircase. You descend a good two hundred feet or more below Blingdenstone before the stairs end in a chilly cavern, filled floor to ceiling with rows upon rows of funerary recesses. These crypts are positioned to form two ten foot wide corridors heading north to south and east to west. At regular intervals are intersections to narrow corridors with more funerary recesses. As the child leads you onward, you realize that the shape of the place resembles a giant crosshair bullseye.
The child heads confidently in one direction, and at the corner beyond the crypts is another small cavern with another set of spirals stairs leading down. As the child is about to descend below, a ghost of a gnome wearing ancient armor rises out of the floor. The child perks up, "Burrow Warden! I'm here to... ugh.." The child looks at your group, then continues, "... learn like the others!".
The Burrow Warden looks down at the child and speaks archaic gnomish in an echo-y voice, "Have we met, child?"
The child giggles, "Burrow Warden.... We met yesterday. And the day before. And the day before that. I've been training. I'm getting strong. See?" And the child flexes his little muscles. Turning to the group, the child explains to all of you like you were children yourselves, "The Burrow Warden never remembers more than a day at a time of the present. He remembers his past. But our parents won't let us ask him about that. Too tragic."
The Burrow Warden nods, telling the child in gnomish to go on, "Head down with the others, and get stronger little one." Then he turns to your party and speaks in broken and archaic undercommon, "This place is protected and we will not allow our peaceful rest to be disturbed. We have protected the sanctity of this place from the Drow, and all manner of creature. You will not succeed if your intentions are foul. You may not go any further. State what business you have with the dead."
Beegred gives the child a copper coin at the start, and will give a silver when they are safely back after this trip. (Already deducted from inventory.) He will emphasize that if something goes bad, the child's priority should find cover for protection.
"He remembers his past. But our parents won't let us ask him about that. Too tragic."
At these words, Beegred starts squirming and twitching, almost like someone trying to hold their breath in but needing to gasp. The halfling waves for the others to speak to the ghost, as he remains deliberately silent.
EDIT: And also doesn't understand Undercommon or Gnomish, so has no idea what the ghost said.

Orubis looks at the others awkwardly for a long moment. He turns back to the ghost a bit confused.
“Well, we were told that you have several ghosts who are beyond saving, Burrow Warden. We have the means to send them back to dust, out of suffering. The people need the space.”
At the words of Orubis, Burrow Warden Jaeger immediately says a name, "Vazuk. She is mad with grief and traumatized by the atrocities the Drow inflicted on her children in her last days of life. In death she sought to protect them when she couldn't in life, but ended up consuming their spirits to keep them out of the grip of Lolth. Now the three are all mad from the shared trauma of physical and emotional torture, and have lost themselves in each other. Vazuk will strike at anyone that trespasses in her home with all of the violence and finality at her disposal. You will know when she is near, for you will hear the screaming of tortured children and the wails of a helpless mother.
Udhask is mired in fear. He ran to his home when the Drow attacked, but his own fear caused his heart to fail him. He died alone in his own home, trying to get at his prized possessions. You will know you found him when you hear the sounds of battle.
Ending Vazuk's torture, or laying Udhask's bones to rest here in the catacombs with his treasure so his spirit may finally rest in peace will earn the only recompense I can offer... an answer to a question. One answer for each gnomish soul given final rest."
Orubis looks at the others. “He says he knows some ghosts, and that if we bring them down, he’ll answer questions we might have. Do we have questions? I’m guessing he knows dead people and Drow.”
Rodolfo says, "We .. might have questions about the drow. Or what's generally going on, but he seems to be more about history. We'll figure it out I guess."
Burrow Warden Jaeger stands barring the way down further into the catacombs, where the child descended. He provides directions to find Vazuk, which is nearby in Inner Blingdenstone. For Udhask, he describes a large cavern full of gnome residences, with a waterfall fed by a river sourced in a cave full of crystals.
"We found nome battle ghost in Rockblight.......Skameros got older. Also found nome skeleton in nome home holding heart. Might be Udhask?"
Beegred praises Skameros. "That sounds right, and makes half of our task a lot easier... Good thinking, Skameros."
The halfling then pauses after realizing what he just said. He looks at Skameros for a few seconds, in case there are signs of spirit-possession.
(OOC: Look for Vazuk in Inner Blingdenstone first, and then gather Udhask's bones?)

The directions provided by Burrow Warden Jaeger are hard to follow because his description of Blingdenstone is several hundred years old, from a time when Blingdenstone was prospering and whole. However, after little bit of asking around some of the wandering deep gnomes, you do find yourselves in front of a barricaded burrow. Besides some debris blocking the entrance, there is nothing to stop your party from entering.
Beegred is 2nd in, after Orubis. (If we can't get in due to the barricade, then he will assist Skameros in making an opening. If there are enough gaps to enter without messing with the barricade, then just enter.)
He will move quietly, which might be a lost cause after the racket being made ahead. Stealth: 21
