Another 'day' passes by as Thurnir recovers and when he emerges, your party sets off to continue exploring the northern ruins of old Blingdenstone. You all pass through the gate into clan Goldwhisker territory and continue north then east until you are once again in uninhabited territory. Your party doesn't even reach the site where you defeated the petrified drow before being assaulted by high pitch screeching and squealing as a half dozen wild looking cave badgers covered in acid burns come charging in your direction from the south, soon followed by the recognizable but still distant telepathic assault from various oozes, "FLESH FOR THE FACELESS GOD!"
Skameros steels his gaze upon Thumir for a moment, giving them the once over before a big toothy smile comes across his face, its rather frighting looking though.
"Big Red, I like this dwarf. Skameros used to eating dwarf not fighting with one, should be fun." and he'll clap a big paw against Thumir's shoulder.

The oozes don't materialize, but there's a 'family' of panicked cave badgers barreling towards your party, seeming to believe you're less dangerous than what they are fleeing from.
Thurnir also steps back out of the way of the badgers, allowing them to pass, while simultaneously trying to ensure they don’t attack by raising his shield and rapier and giving a low snarl…

(he’s not trying to fight them, just trying to get to them to keep running past, not mess with us..)
It is a natural instinct in creatures to survive by running faster. Faster than a predator, or just faster than the slowest of its kind, which become sacrifices so the rest can survive. These cave badgers instinctively run past your party, happily leaving you as sacrifices to their pursuers.
Orubis feels his divine magics make a connection with the 4 smaller cave badgers, but the biggest two resist. (charm animals vs. cave badger group is a success)
The instinct and panic driving the badgers subsides, but they are still intent on fleeing at the moment. (Make an animal handling check to attempt to alter their behavior)
Orubis commands the Cave Badgers stay and fight the anticipated attack by oozes, but the oozes never pursue. After a minute of watching the larger two cave badgers frantically try to herd the smaller ones away, Orubis's magic wears off and they all turn to flee.
The cavern falls into silence after the badgers make their escape.

Beegred is quite ready to accept Skameros' advice on the newcomer.
(Especially when he is armed and Beegred is within reach.)
"Some of my guard buddies also had problems with a burning feeling while peeing, and it can last more than a day."
It takes him a moment to realize that Thurnir was talking about "thinking yer good crew".
With the arrival of the semi-telepathic oozes: "Speaking of burning feelings..."

“they’re in me head again. I’m ready this time..” Thurnir mutters. He’s at the front of the group, and draws his rapier and has his shield ready.
Orubis readies his shield.

Skameros shakes his head no and growls deeply from his chest, and switches from his good greataxe, to one that is pockmarked, and ooze worn.

Rodolfo lights a torch and throws it in the way the noise is coming from.
"Hold back, I'm going to throw some dirt around as before. Then throw rocks and magic at them until they dissolve."
He readies Erupting Earth for the oozes.
The oozes don't materialize, but there's a 'family' of panicked cave badgers barreling towards your party, seeming to believe you're less dangerous than what they are fleeing from.
Seeing that Rodolfo will push himself against the cave wall and waits what happens.

Can Orubis attempt to charm the animals with his channel divinity to keep them around?
if they’re gone, they’re gone, it’s okay. DC 14 Wis save otherwise

Rodolfo stares intently towards where the badgers came from to notice the oozes as soon as possible.
He will cast Erupting Earth as soon as he sees a second one appear. If it's just one then he'll wait.

“Well, let’s see where these beasties are at… “ Thurnir. He starts cautiously moving deeper into the caves toward where the badgers were fleeing from.
Orubis pokes at Thurnir’s shoulder.
“Not that way. A sea of slimes is that way. We need to go around and hope we avoid notice.”
