Gruun bellows a roar as the paladin charges going into a Rage and moving in to engage his foe. He moves 5ft into the spikes taking 3 (halved: 2 ) and engaging the Paladin with his chain wrapped fists Attack: 11 Damage: 8
For Barty:
I rolled a 1d4 for the damage +3 for STR and +2 for rage. If you think the damage should be different just let me know.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: That's the correct damage but just to clarify, Gruun will need to move another 5 feet into the spike growth to reach melee range...spike growth has a radius of 20 feet and the center of it was placed 10 feet from the paladin, which means there are 30 feet of spikes for him to run through. Because it's difficult terrain, he was able to run 15 feet in his turn, leaving 15 feet of spikes between him and you, so Gruun would have to run at least 10 feet into the spikes to be within 5 feet of the paladin.
Gruun Total Spike Growth Damage: 9 (3 after halved by rage) Holy Avenger Attack: 22 Holy Avenger Attack: 25
Gruun charges through spikes with abandon, filing the pain away in the back of his mind with only his target in sight. The paladin meets the bugbears charge in the midst of the growth, bringing his sword high to block the chained punch with his gauntleted forearm, shouting, "You shall die first, then!" He pushes Gruun back with his forearm, bringing the sword down painfully across the arm, then slashing back across his chest. The barbarian bites through the pain at first, taking 13 slashing damage (halved to 6), but immediately feels a searing energy fill the wound, 17 radiant damage, that erupts in his mind past his rage. The second slash brings 19 slashing damage (halved to 6) and 9 radiant damage.

"This is madness," remarks Therien to no one in particular. The wizard deems that Mage Armor will be of no use to anyone at this point; so he once again casts Ray of Frost, hoping to slow the paladin a bit. (Ranged spell attack: 17 | Cold damage: 2)
NOTE: If the spell hits, the paladin's speed is reduced by 10' until the start of Therien's next turn
As the paladin pulls his mighty sword back to continue his frenzy, Fayten's dagger explodes across his chest, Therien's ray strikes him in his side, and Hox's arrow plunges into his heart with deadly force, stopping him in his tracks.
As Bob falls, his sword clatters from his hand to the floor, sizzling as it begins to meld into the stone. The tunnels become as silent as a grave for a moment until Bartle's voice breaks through, "Oh really, Fargim? Because it looks to me as if the man I asked you to subdue is not tearing through you, but in fact is laying quite dead on the floor!"
A giant door looms in the north wall just before a sharp turn to the north. In the east stands a weathered statue of a fearsome tentacled mass with a yawning maw. Withered, ancient corpses are nailed to the corridor walls.
Tracking: There is a large stone door on the north wall. The corridor continues to the east and turns sharply to the north.
OOC: Turns out Gruun didn't need to be botted! Each character receives 3750 XP for defeating the paladin.
Fargim drops his concentration on the Spike Growth and says, "Also his sword melted into the ground. That's not normal. Give me a moment."
He takes a couple of powders, says a few words and blows them away from his palm (cast See Invisibility for an hour). "Ok, this might help, I don't know, we'll see." (did anything new pop up in his vision?)
"Have any of you seen a statue that weird before?"

Hox checks the Bob's body, patting the dead man's forehead, "Bad Bob." He feels a bit bothered by the walls with bodies upon them and starts looking around for any traps.
Gruun calms down the the falling of his foe. He recoils his Chain and places it back into his pack. He gather some dirt in the corners of the hall and rubs it into his wounds for them to clot faster.
Therien cautiously approaches the large stone door in the north wall. With an inquiring look on his face, he glances at the other members of the party in an effort to discern their intentions.
As grisly as the scene is, Hox does not find any sign of traps in this entryway.
Bartle waddles toward the fallen paladin, with his mute mage friend in tow. He taps his foot with a large frown on his face as he peers down. "No, this will not do. It has all been thrown off now. We will need to find another solution, hmm, yes." After a moment, he looks up at Gruun rubbing dirt into his wounds and Therien glancing back. "Well? Let us be on, yes?"
As he touches the door, Therien feels a wave of magical energy wash over him, but it quickly subsides, seemingly to no effect. The door is locked, and does not budge.

Fargim backs away as far as he can and shouts, "Bartle, any help? This guy is tearing through us!"
He takes one of his daggers and chucks it at the paladin (cast Catapult at first level for 134 damage). (nope, 3d8 for 14, not 31d8)

There is no change in Fargim's vision yet.
You've never seen anything like this statue's depiction before. It doesn't have any sign of magical symbols or carvings.

No longer dripping blood, Gruun moves up to the door next to Therien.
"Is it stuck?"
"Yes, let us be on then," says Therien, echoing the words of Bartle. The elf then tries the door...

"Seemingly, the incorrect way for now," remarks Therien aloud but to himself. "To the corridor, friends. I'd rather not lead, however."
Fargim steps forward, "I'll go first." And he goes first for as long as he can.
This corridor is clear of the gruesome display on the walls, and is just wide enough for a single person.
OOC: With Fargim leading the way, let's establish a marching order with your next posts.

While moving forward Fargim whispers to himself from time to time "I hope this is not as stupid as it looks.." and casts Resistance on himself.
