Looking down and taking a second to himself he mutters "you're the wizard now, Velon, think, think." Finally he announces to the party over the mental link "we are deceived!" "My eyes see the opposite of what they should, but Xymor is not fooled!" At that Velon raises his hammer high and says a few brief words in draconic, calling upon holy aid to disperse the undead. "Those who flee are your true enemies!" he calls out aloud.
OOC Edit: If all others are safe, and especially if all others are to Velon's right on the map heading out the door Mari opened, Velon too will use some of his movement to head that way at the end of his turn. If anyone is still in danger, however, he will stay in the room. DM discretion works for me!

Mari opens up the door. She speaks through the link at the edge of panic, " The door is open. Come on and lets get out of here. Why risk hurting each other. Come on!!" She steps through the door and out of the way. Mari then studies her surroundings.
Lia is shaken as she cant tell friend from foe She hears Mari over the link. As she tries to make her way towads hat appears to be Mari she feels as if something is trying to block her movements She tries to push past it and get to the door.
Hearing Mari's call about hurting each other, Lawrance blinks then narrows his vision, suspecting some kind of confusion spell at work here. Moving towards the newly opened doors, he let's go the Slow spell and casts Dispel Magic upon the effect that twists the targets from foe to friend!

Shadowsnacks tells everyone over the mental connection, "It's a trap, see. They gots you alls hittin' each other, see. Perry, everyone, we need to gallop out of here now, see."
"Youuuuuuuu're riiiiiiiiiight, Shaaaaaaaadowwwwwsnaaaaaaacks. Leeeeeeeets geeeeeeeeet moooooooooooooooooving," Perry replies as he slowly hops onto the steed.
Disengage action for both Perry and Shadowsnacks. Perry hops atop the steed. Shadowsnacks goes through the door Mari opened, but not so far as to leave the group way behind.
The space beyond the door proves to be a long hallway. Another door is in front of the group, and the hall stretches into blackness down to the right.
Poljen tears another shadow to shreds as most of the group flees out of the room. Lawrance's attempt to dispel the spell fails, but the illusory effect seems to end at the door, and those who cross it once again see each other as they truly are.
But the shadows themselves are still real enough, and they come pouring after the party. They get several strikes in on the party members who fled into the hall. But then a burst of light from Velon sends the majority of them fleeing. Several disappear into the walls. Some are still visible, but have retreated to the far edges of the barracks.
Poljen takes 3 strength damage and 13 necrotic, Lia 2 strength damage and 5 necrotic, Velon 4 strength damage and 13 necrotic.
Mari heads south down the hallway She checks for any more traps or enemies up ahead. Lia staggers some as she feels strength leech from her body. Seeing Velon, Poljen and Cratol still in the room with the shadows she steps forward. ( AD53) Holding her amulet aloft, she calls out in a commanding voice, " Begone creatures of darkness. Beware the judgement of Sune!" A bright light flashes from her amulet.
OOC: She uses her turn undead ability. The wisdom save dc is 16. This destoys undead that fail the save CR2 and below.

Shadowsnacks looks extremely tired. He is panting heavily and communicates over the party line, "I ain't feelin' too great, Perry. These shadow things, they be sappin' my strength, see Perry. I can't take too much more of dis, Perry. We gotsta protect the women though, Perry. Because we are men and that's what we do, see."
Perry nods, seemingly approving of Shadowsnacks' wise words, as he looks around at all the shadows darting about the walls. "You're right, pal. We need to be brave right now for them, but you have done enough. I'll be brave for the both of us buddy, you need to get away to safety. Just don't go too far, okay?"
With that, the bard leaps off the pegasus' back, outstretches his wings in midair, and pulls out a dark grey scimitar from it's sheathe. He points the scimitar towards the shadow ahead and yells at it angrily, "Alright you spooky spook! You aren't going to hurt any more of MY FRIENDS!"
The blade begins humming intensely as the bard goes to slash at the shadow.
Perry is going to jump off Shadowsnacks and fly around to flank with him over at AD57. He will Booming Blade the shadow.
Shadowsnacks has options. If Perry kills the shadow, then Shadowsnacks will move down the hallway to roughly AD62 and take the Dodge action. If Perry completely misses the shadow, he will take the Disengage action and move to AD62. If Perry hits but does not kill the shadow, he will attempt to kick the shadow with his hooves to finish it and then move to AD62 only if it dies. I have factored in his STR loss into his attack and damage rolls. Shadowsnacks will also keep his eyes out as he moves down the hallway.

Once out of the malign influence of the illusion, Lawrance moves away from the opening, launching a firebolt at the nearest shadow. Triggering his Robe, he also checks to see if the fog that so obscured his vision (and possibly his mind) is absent still.

Hearing that the door is open and to head that way Cratol will not attack again and disengage and move at his fast speed into the hallway with the others. He will head towards AF55.
Velon backs up towards the door, looking to defend himself against any more shadows and make sure the rest of the Blaze has exited the room. He hopes to close the door behind him as he exits if Cratol and Poljen are also out of the room.
OOC . Disengage action if needed to avoid an AoO, or he could use his action to close the door if still available.
The party makes good its retreat, funneling into the hallway and hacking down several of the shadows who are close.
But Lia settles the matter with another burst of light, stronger than the one Velon had released. The last shadows still near the party break apart and vanish. Several of the creatures still remain in the room the group has left, writhing as they stare silently at you. But the Blaze is clear of hostiles for the moment.
Poljen is angry, considering that now his weapons feel much heavier than normal. He looks up at the ceiling, assuming their antagonist is watching. "The more you bother us, the more painful your death will be!" His breath heaving, his sword and shield arms limp at his sides, he looks at Lia. "Can you help those of us that suffered the worst of that?"
Perry puts away his scimitar for the moment and goes to check up on Shadowsnacks. "Oh no, look what they've done to you pal!" he exclaims in shock as he inspects the damage done to the heavily injured and weakened steed.
"I'll be alright Perry. This is just part of my job, see. It all comes with the territory. Besides, I'm not really hurt, Perry. After all, I'm just a fey spirit that's temporarily tethered to this plane via your magic, see. It's just this physical manifestation of myself that's injured, Perry,"Shadowsnacks says to the worried bard.
"I think that makes sense, buddy," Perry says, not sounding terribly convinced and not really understanding how it all works. "So...if you die in this plane you don't die in real life, right?"
The pegasus neighs in laughter, seemingly amused by Perry's question."Oh, of course not Perry! Don't you worry about that, see. If I die in this form, you just need to summon me back with that same spell again, Perry. Also, don't make me laugh, Perry. It hurts, see."
Perry's eyes light up at that, "Gee thanks, Shadowsnacks! You're so cool, pal!" He hugs the pegasus.
The whole party hears that entire telepathic dialogue.
Perry looks down the hallways to the east and south to see if he can tell what's waiting for them ahead.

She joins Velon with concern apparent. " Did they weaken you much servant of Bahamat?"
Mari breathes a sigh of relief as they escape the room. She sheathes her weapons and closes the door quickly. She checks the door opposite of the door they emerged from for traps or noise on the other side. If its locked she will pick it but not open it just yet.

Gulping down a couple of small healing potions from his meager stock, Lawrance sighs as he feels the healing energies thrum through his body, recovering from some of the damage. Peering into the Ethereal and other modes, he checks to ensure no more shadows or anything else is trying to sneak up on the party from other angles. %This isn't as much fun as it should have been.%
