Mari has a great time dancing with her dwarven friend. She forgets about their current trouble after dancing for a while. It is nice to be able to relax. As the night goes on she knows it is time to depart. " Gunther, I have had a great time . You are a good dancer . I must get back to my friends though. Thank you for tonight. " She smiles at him.
Upon arriving back at the sky castle Lia returns to her room she shares with Velon. Upon reading the notes and seeing the soap and arrow she beams happily. Putting them away she tracks down Velon. Once they have some privacy she hugs him . " My love, you are too good to me. So thoughtful . I don't know how I made it without you .I'm looking forward to our quiet adventures afterwards as well. They may not be as quiet as you think . " She laughs at this. " Let's finish this war so we can have some time for just us . "
She kisses him and hugs him tightly. " You are my hero Velon .I know I'm always safe as long as you are here to protect me. "
The Dwarven Craftsman smiles and says, "Keldan Redhammer, and I look forward to your next visit miss Penelope. In regards to the idea with the cloak, I can tell you that protective garments are often made with such scales. It takes a bit of magic to awaken their latent power, but then the Bearer is protected against the element associated with the scales. I cannot say for certain if you could combine this effect with multiple colored scales, but it might be worth a try."
The dwarf pokes through the bag of bones for a while, makes a few quick notes, and then disappears into another room. When he returns he is carrying a finely crafted dragon bone longbow and a small pouch of gold.
"I happened to have this lying around after someone else failed to come up with their payment, it should suit someone of your height just fine. Here is my offer, in exchange for all the bones you have, you get the bow and 400 gold in addition to the scimitar, which we should have ready within four weeks. I do apologize for that delay, we have a few other projects on hand ahead of this one. Is this acceptable?"
Soon enough people have left the city and regrouped at the castle. They arrive in time to see the captain receiving a pair of wagons with the last of the ballistae you had commissioned the last time you were here. With those installed, all seven of the castle's towers will now have a Ballista ready to fire at encroaching threats.
Velon tells Lia "it is very sweet of you to pretend you need protecting, oh mighty cleric of Sune, slayer of more dragons than I. We all know who keeps who alive around here." At mention of things specifically not being quiet he gets a little bit red in the cheeks, smiles, and raises an eyebrow at her. "Oh, do tell me more?" At that he takes her hand and makes sure their bedroom door is closed...
Later on, Velon asks Lia "our adventures, after all of this I mean, with the elves..." "I was wondering if perhaps you were interested in adding more to our party? And no I don't mean Perry and Poljen." He smiles and assumes she'll get the drift. "I know you are already a mother, and part of that has caused you pain, but I've also seen the joy it brings you." Before she answers, however, he chimes in again in a more solemn tone. "I know I might not be around as long as we'd like for such things, but I hope to do all I can to change that. I've asked Irdeith, and Lawrance, and Bahamut about it. All were helpful, although I don't know exactly how I'll do it, or if Bahamut will aid me in finding a way that doesn't involve dying first like so many of the things Lawrance has read about would. Irdeith warned that Bahamut may demand more of me than you or I would hope, as it may keep us apart, though..." At that he grows quiet, deep in thought and a little bit nervous about what she might say.
Seeing Poljen's lead; Morgaine also gets up and once again wraps her arm through his and says that we should head back to the Castle. Once there, she heads to her room and whispers to Poljen he is welcome to join her there.
Penelope replies to the dwarf, "Oh that's great, this bow is so beautiful! Thank you soooo much, Master Keldan of Clan Redhammer! Four weeks should be fine on the scimitar, I won't be needing it for awhile anyway." Then, she stands up and heads for the door but waves, "See you later, bye! Good luck with your crafting!"
She spends all of her newly gotten gold on random common magic items then makes her way back to the castle.
---
Back at the castle, Perry has just landed in the middle of the courtyard atop Shadowsnacks. He shouts out while sitting atop the pegasus, "Apprentice! Apprentice, where are you?" He shouts this despite Mari being clearly visible 50 feet away from him, practicing her killing. Eventually he "notices" her, hops off Shadowsnacks, walks up to her, and says, "Ah, there you are apprentice. I have brought you back a gift to aid you in your practice." He pulls from his magic bag an elegantly made dragonbone bow and holds it out to Mari. It has a pink bow tied to it as if to make it look more like a gift.
"Hrmm, why is this ribbon pink? I would have gone with purple myself."
Soon enough supplies are taken in, everyone is confirmed to be on board, and the last two ballistas have been installed.
When everything is ready, there is a slight Rumble as the castle lifts off. It slowly begins to accelerate to the northwest, heading for the Sea of moving Ice.
Lia looks at him with warm eyes as he speaks. She hugs him tightly afterwards for a few moments and then steps back. "My love.... I was hoping you would want to have children after this is over. Nothing could make me happier than to start a family with you. " She purses her lips as she thinks.
" There must be something we can do. I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I couldn't bear losing you and im still young. We will find a way. I will consult with Sune soon. I should have gained some favor in her eyes with what all we have done. There will be something that we can do. I know there is. " Her eyes shine in excitement. " oh Velon.. " She hugs him tightly again.
Mari looks up to see what the excitement is. She smiles at Perry as he hands her the bow. " On Perry... It is so finely crafted. I will keep this always. Thank you. " She kisses him on the cheek.
The kiss from Mari does something many had thought to be impossible. It shuts Perry up for a minute and manages to pull him out of character.
"You're welcome. I'm really happy you like it, Mari," he says with a warm smile. He pauses for a moment, then remembers, "Oh, but it does still need an enchantment on it. And I thought it would be best if you decided what kind of enchantment, something suited to your style."

Later that evening, while everyone else is in their beds asleep or participating in nightime extra curricular activities, Perry finally makes it back to his room. He finds the note from Velon and the Wand of Conducting. He gets extremely excited to try it. Suddenly, a loud full orchestra can be heard booming throughout the entire main tower. It's volume carries out to the main courtyard in the middle of the night. Once it's over, the look on Perry's face is one of pure joy. He places the wand in his bag, then prepares for bed.
What did the orchestra sound like in the middle of the night you may ask? It was this famous part of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture:
Still working on the research and other tasks he take his attention, when the sudden blare of music erupts from the main keep, Lawrance looks up from his workbench, mutters "Cacophonix" and casts a spell of silence across his labs, removing the distraction. Putting a hand on the staff, he reassures Aisling that all is well.

Velon is extremely relieved at Lia's reaction to the things he had been nervous to discuss. He hugs and kisses her and says "let's not worry about it any more for today, then."
The next day, after the symphony Perry put on during the night, Velon walks into the dining hall. "It seems you have found your gift, Mr. Pennington! I hope you enjoyed it. I actually got a great deal on several interesting items. You would have been proud." At that Velon pulls out a small copper amulet to show it off to Perry, winks at him, and tucks it away.
As the castle enters the frozen wastes of northernmost Faerun, Irdeith prepares to leave for his own mission. "I hope this lead pans out, I'm not overly fond of wondering about to no purpose."
"Be careful in the sea of moving ice. No maps of the region exist, because they would be completely obsolete within a few months after being drawn. I wish you luck in tracing the path taken by the horn's researcher."
Perry covers his mouth as he's trying hide his laughter, "Oh Velon, of course I'm proud. Well done, well done indeed." Perry makes eye contact with Lia and Mari during this encounter, then continues, "Have you shown Lia? I'm sure she would appreciate it."
--
After the dragon man leaves and Perry finishes the pastries and coffee, he stands up to address the group, "EHEM! Alright everyone, so let's recap what we know about this horn. It all started when that crazy old man Diderius gave us a world-ending vision of a horn that brings DOOOOM. Then, we went to that Candle place that Lawrance stayed in forever and learned that some wizard named Maccath was an expert on this dragon caller horn. While Lawrance was still in the tower reading, Tazskan and I spoke to a clerk and got to see Maccath's itinerary from which we learned that Maccath had left on an expedition to the Sea of Moving Ice over a year ago. We also learned that she is late in returning. We managed to get a map upon which a highlighted search area was drawn. There was also a town known as Grindel that Maccath had marked. I would imagine that to be a good place to start and ask around about Maccath. Also while we're there we should pick up some heavy winter clothes. Also there might be a white dragon around somewhere."
"Indeed, only 500 gold pieces per item!" Velon shares excitedly with Perry.
At Perry's account regarding the horn and Maccath, Velon remarks "excellent, well done Perry. Speaking of which, what items were you able to obtain for our venture? Potions against cold and such, I hope?"
I forget exactly how many potions you got, how many I should add to my individual inventory, and how much I should deduct from my stash of gold. Thanks Seath/Perry!
"Ah yes, I did grab potions for everyone actually. Just in case we actually have to fight the white dragon."He hands out the potions to anyone who placed in an order. "More importantly, anyone have ideas on how to find and navigate to this Grindel town?" he asks the group.
Feel free to add the potion/s to your inventory. We got a 15% discount so the final price per potion is 255 gold.
Lia grins as she listens to the Velon-Perry exchange. " what is it Velon? I'm very curious now" She eyes him and beams. "
" Perry, you never cease to amaze me. Your shopping prowess will be quite legendary soon. Make sure to put words to a song about that. "
Mari merely shakes her head as she listens. " So Perry....was that you behind that noise last night? I hope that Shadowsnacks wasn't frightened to death. " She giggles at the thought of a startled Pegasus.
Cratol listens to all of what is going on as they get closer and closer to the sea of moving ice and their destination. He hopes that they can soon get a lead on the Macbeth person so they can hopefully secure this horn for the good side and make sure the Tiamats side is one again loses a valuable item. He eats slowly so thathe does not miss anything as he ponders everything.
"Thank you Lia, shopping truly is an art. There's the hunt for the perfect item, the excitement of haggling a price against a tough foe, and then that sense of pride and accomplishment you feel when you finally have the item in your hands. Ah, do I love it so," he says in overly dramatic fashion.
When Mari asks him about the noise, Perry replies, "Oooh, you heard that huh? It's this new wand Velon got me! Check it out!" He waves the wand and roughly two seconds of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture plays before he stops it. "Isn't that amazing?!" he exclaims with a beam in his eyes. "Oh and don't worry, Shadowsnacks loves music."

"Regarding finding the town of Grindel, perhaps I could have Shadowsnacks go out and look around? He can cover a lot of ground super fast."
