OCC: Talked it over with Andolin, and we are going to go on the premise he acts as something of an intermediary for a bit.
In response to:
Wren - The Guardian shows Andolin an image of Amulet moving, and as it moves it's direction changes left to right, and spots of blackness which come to circle the Amulet, collide with the Amulet in a spark of white and disappear. It then shows Andolin a luminous crystal tower rising from an Ancient forest.
Andolin finishes reading aloud, then communes with the Yew Guardian, repeating aloud anything he says or understands.
Guardian, that’s what you are called. And this place, this realm, is called Sanctuary. This being here was your Companion, a helper in your tasks, but something happened and he died. These crystals on the table, are these tied to the spirits you spoke of? Or other worlds somehow? Is that why they’ve been so damaged?
These crystals on the table, are these tied to the spirits you spoke of? Or other worlds somehow?
An image of a yew seed appears in your mind with a sense of no. Then there is an image of a maelstrom of lights which changes into snow falling on an ancient forest.
Is that why they’ve been so damaged?
There is the image of a lovely black haired woman in robes and surrounded by an aura of power. Behind her, a thin, black haired and black eyed man stands behind her and strikes her with the steel capped spike at the end of an ornate staff. The image is followed by one of a broken spiders web blowing in wind and leaves whip by, tearing it more.
I’m sorry for the loss of your Mistress. We will do what we can to repair the damage that has been caused. Is there anything else we can do here before seeking out this tower? What is this insignia on the wall?
Andolin will also ask the party if any of the others know specifics about the Mistress, or recognize the design of the amulet?
Is there anything else we can do here before seeking out this tower?
The Guardian responds with the image of a sword of light cutting into an inky blackness to reveal a forest below.
What is this insignia on the wall?
The Guardian responds to with an image of the forest and tower again, but from a greater distance.
Andolin will also ask the party if any of the others know specifics about the Mistress, or recognize the design of the amulet?
(Sorry if i put words in your mouths)
In general, too many powerful female deities and supernatural forces could be called "Mistress" by their followers for this to get anything more than religious, arcane and historical. Anything from Mielikki to Lolth, from Titania to Mab. As for the shape, Seraphina points out that there are eight lines on the amulet and their are 8 crystals on the edge of the diagram, but its only a wild guess. Horus points out that there are nine crystals. Cell mumbles some phrase from an ancient text on mythology she remembers, "...and eight were the guests, for nine is a number pleasing to...to..."
Its a daily. And a little advise... You traveled all day yesterday, had 4 hours sleep. Fought undead and have been traveling for about 5 hours. This place seems safe, or at leaat defensible. Use it, if you want and take an extra long rest and start out in the morning.
Andolin turns to the others and says, “Any thoughts on the meaning of these visions?”
To the Guardian:
Is there something I should see with the amulet. Something more than what is here?
(DM, I just don’t want to burn the True Seeing...blindly... :) )
To this, the Guarding shows you the image of the trunk of a great Tree, as you watch great black balls of splatter like mud against the trunk and ground beside, and creatures exit from the balls. A great, hairy black widow burrows under ground after emerging, a viper curls up in a small hollow between the root and the ground. Humans, Elves, Goblins, Orcs and more exit from these balls as the land and trunk turn black.
Inside the tree, all seems the same as before casting the spell, but out the door...
Moving to the entrance and looking out, you see a different landscape. A land of dust, of dried tree trunks and the dehydrated remains of trees. Old brambles, now dried and dead tumble in the sandy dirt.
But layered over this are other realities. You see the verdant landscape you came through layered over the dead land. Over that a ridge of mountains, cut in half. A road of black with strange carriages with people inside and drawn by nothing. A vast ocean above and below you, and a pod of creatures, fully as long as any ship swim by through the air/water. Floating not far away in the "air", a tree on a small plot of earth with a family of rabbits eating the long grass around its trunk.
Andolin looks out grimly, and shares what he sees, concluding with, “I believe this forest is in fact completely dead. We are in an illusion of sorts. We should do what we can to help.
“Let’s camp here til morning, then we can set out to find this tower.”

(Do these seem like alternate realities, or like the one we are in is illusory?)
They seem as fragments.. With the first being the real... Which in part would explain the guardian.

“Seems wise. You lead, I’ll follow.”
