Tordal turns towards the two adjacent Tieflings and with hands raised, thumbs together in and his palms exposed, a brilliant flame erupts forward in a cone
Vail nocks an arrow on the move, pauses for a second to send it flying towards the tiefling with Oslamirs bolt sticking out of its back. After loosing the arrow, he drops his bow and pulls his small shield off his back and draws his sword and closes the distance to engage.
On T3
Attack: 17

ooc: Reading it looks like I can attack, move, and drop and unsheathe a weapon as a free action. Am I off here?
ooc: Indeed, it just mentions you can drop and unsheathe a weapon as a free action. I read online that a possible explanation, you can use a free action on the previous turn to drop, and then free action next turn to unsheathe. This would just mean you're weaponless in between turns. Either way it's DMs call!
Both of the teiflings manage to evade some of the fire sprouting from Tordal and each take ....
Vail looses another arrow on his way to melee and tags T3 right in the head KILLING him
OOV: Vail. You are correct and that's the way I've always played. You can drop a weapon and draw a new one. You do not have time to put your bow away properly and new draw a weapon.
ooc: Ugh, I really hope you guys get out of this. These folks are definitely a very hard encounter. I didn't expect it to go this way. I thought there was going to be a more diplomatic solution :P
OK, So Vail does indeed go down falling unconscious just after drawing his sword.
ooc: You just roll damage once and it's applied to all effected so I'm going to have to take your first roll, they saved for half so it's 4 damage to each. (splits are always rounded down)
Ooc: actually...... I should still be alive. I successfully got a liquid courage right? And first level is +5 temp Hp. So i have 12 HP now, so should have 17 with temp HP. it appears my drunkenness has enabled me to survive the arrow I took to the face!
Ooc: lmao! Now that's funny! You are correct. I was just from your sheet and had totally forgotten about that! So you are indeed gripping to life by a thread :) Now you tell everyone that drinking saved your life!

occ: sounds like you're saying the next time we need to negotiate with a hostile group we shouldn't leave the bard with 16 charisma and proficiency in deception, persuasion and intimidation to hide in the trees? :) Luckily, failure can be just as good of a story as success!

Ooc - how are these guys arranged in relation to us, all 3 surrounding Tauriel and I?
Ooc: yes and one more somewhere

Tauriel swings her greataxe at T2 but goes a little wide and misses, loosing her chance to hammer on him with her horns.
Tordal is up

Ooc - am I able to get them lined up or are they on all sides of me?
The one attacking Tauriel and one attacking you could be lined up, the other is flanking you.

ooc-RAW each round is 6 seconds so if you can do so that fast...

I will add in the damage from Tordal but unfortunately even if he rolls 18 and they take 9 it will not drop them so the Tieflings are up.
You still do not know where the last Tiefling is and an arrow flies at Vail again:
On Vail Attack: 16 Damage: 12
T1 will continue attacking Tauriel and T2 will continue on Tordal using their longsword 2 handed.
On Tauriel Attack: 19 Damage: 7
On Tordal Attack: 15 Damage: 7

edit - unless Vail has a trick up his sleeve like Tordal did that's gonna be a problem for you reaching melee
The two engaged with Tauriel and Tordal are both thrown off for a second seeing their friend drop and miss both attacks.
