SInjin says he can try but it doesn't look like a language to him. "I'm afraid my skills with languages won't help if it's some kind of code, but I'm happy to try"
After a minute he says "Much of it I don't understand. There are parts that are in a written language but it's some kind of specialized code. The parts I can make out mention "elves, partial or full payment" and something about "the object, or the item" if I'm understanding correctly.
He laughs "Why don't you come over here dwarf and I'll whisper the answer over your head to your friends"
You guys can tell at this point that without doing something to him, or maybe someone new getting a high intimidation roll, you're probably not going to get anything useful out of him. He's pretty much just being a dick.
He finally says "Alright, alright! Stop shaking me. They're called "The Locks" We're really just grunts. We get the shit jobs like following that elf. I've never actually met anyone in the organization. We get our orders by letter."
"Can you lead us to someone who might know how to open these locks?" she says while attempting to growl at him. "Or don't, I'm strong enough to bust down any door with any type of lock in it!"
He looks a bit confused "They're just called "The Locks" I don't think there's... Uhm , I mean. Yeah sure! I can take you to someone who knows. Let me up and I'll gladly show you the way!"
As you break out the supplies and start to work on him he gets what you're doing and starts yelling "NOOO. Come on! That's humiliating! I told you what you wanted to know! At least let me walk and bind my hands!"
”You’ll speak when spoken to dog.” Vail yells at him “I’ll carry one of the ends. I’m prone to accidentally dropping things. If you lie to us, and take us somewhere where we might get killed, I’ll personally gut you and use your insides to grease the axels of a wagon.”
ooc: how do we verify if he’s lying?
ooc: also Can I go pick up my bow I dropped early and loot the corpses?
ooc: Yes, you should get your bow. Good you remembered because I would have busted you on it if you'd forgotten and tried to pull it out later :) You can certainly search the bodies. As to the lying... that's up to you folks.
On the corpses you find a total of 36 gold, there's 4 daggers, 3 longswords, a short sword and 4 longbows with about 240 arrows total. There is also all their standard equipment such as bedrolls, rations, a box of candles, etc..
Ooc: phew I almost forgot that guy! So I dont understand weight too well and how total encumberance will work but I’m looking to buy some decent armor so I wanna sell some of that shiz if possible!
Vail loots grabs a short sword, restocks his arrows, and coins and divides them amongst the group, 7 coins each and gives the extra two to Tordal
"we should split up these rations, you can never be too prepared. Feel free to split up the weapons as you desire, I prefer the more satisfying crack of my mace" Tordal says with a wry smile
ooc: You're sheet will do encumbrance for you if you have it turned on. Right now you're sheet is showing you carrying 136.5lbs out of 240lbs you can carry before encumbered. You can add or remove items on your sheet with "manage equipment'. Max carrying is 15x your STR (240lbs). Over that and you are encumbered which drops your movement speed 10 feet. If you get to 20x (320lbs) your STR then you are heavily encumbered and your movement drops 20feet and you have disadvantage on attack rolls, ability checks and STR, DEX and CON saves.
"I'll take everything they have here if no one wants anything. Pa always said its better to have it and not need it versus needing it and not having it," she says while picking up all of the gear. Tauriel holds up a large amount of arrows, "I'm not too good with counting big numbers so can someone tell me how many arrows this is after Mr. Vail restocked?"
SInjin says he can try but it doesn't look like a language to him. "I'm afraid my skills with languages won't help if it's some kind of code, but I'm happy to try"
He touches the paper and cast comprehend languages

Turning to the Tiefling "who does this seal belong to?"
He laughs "Why don't you come over here dwarf and I'll whisper the answer over your head to your friends"

"we can't trust him on his own. We should bind his hands. DidD anyone have something we can use?"
"I got this." Tauriel pulls out one of her Javelins and some rope and hogties the Tiefling to the makeshift pole.
"Who knew those ruffians back home would teach me something useful for once?"
This is what he looks like now more or less

Recap: I'm taking 3 longswords, 4 Longbows, 4 Daggers, 1 Shortsword, and 240-(what Vail took) arrows.
Feel free to just ask Tauriel for any of these and she'll give em.
ooc: I forgot that they are all wearing leather armor also. Sorry about that. Don't know if anyone wants that also.
