Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
(Veryes could use a long rest. I'd be up for heading back to the saving point and maybe seeing if Mother and Father have any input on what we found and have a rest before more trouble finds us :)
The party returns to the Saving Point to rest and discuss their findings with Mother and Father and discuss how to proceed after a very eventful day. Father listens to everyone recap what happened while Mother hovers around, making herself look busy but clearly interested to hear what happened at Myrtle's shop. If you confront her about her eavesdropping, she'll play dumb and continue to push her broom around the floor of the hostel. While recounting their story, a messenger arrives for Alexandra, pulling her away from the party on urgent business elsewhere - the message she receives makes the blood drain from her face and her mood suddenly sours and she is quick to make her exit, wishing the remaining party all the best in their search for Anna.
Father hears your suspicion that Anna is an adventurer - or at least, wants to be an adventurer - and furrows his brow. "Well, what do you think about that?" he asks no one in particular. "I suppose that could explain why she would come and go, if she thinks she's going to be some sort of... sort of..." He searches for the name of a famous adventurer, and drawing a blank, mumbles something and continues. "I don't know how far she thinks she would get, kid like that... Probably trying to prove something to her --- Mother, what's the name of that one place that has the caves in the basement?"
Mother, who has been pretending she isn't listening, immediately joins the conversation and what follows is a 10 minute back and forth debate between the two of them over which tavern in Waterdeep is famous for what, who they knew there, and why they're banned. They debate in circles around each other before finally settling on three possible places Anna might be interested in if she is indeed trying to be an adventurer: The Yawning Portal, the Empty Keg, and the Crawling Spider. The Yawning Portal you feel comfortable leaving off your list because that's where Shadrach said to meet, so it's safe he's got that place locked down for now. The Spider and the Keg are both very dangerous places, but if she's going to find out information about the Undermountain and put herself in proximity to anyone who might go down there with her, it'd be one of these places.
The Crawling Spider is a nightclub with an Undermountain theme, complete with rooms beneath the bar set in the mountain that are setup to be a sort of champagne room situation but are also often used for everything from political negotiations between representatives of the Masked Lords to Zhentarim assassinations and everything in between. The Empty Keg is a very rough beer hall situated close to a brothel which might make it attractive (no pun intended) to people who have just returned from the Undermountain and are looking to blow off steam. It's going to be awhile before either the Spider or the Keg are open, much less active, and so there is time for you to get a long rest in if you do choose to go this route tonight.
(I'm good with The Empty Keg. There's a couple things I'd like to do before resting though)
Veryes will find a secluded table and asking Usul for the maps will copy them into her book along with any notations that seem relevant from the sketches and Anna's diary. (if there's any new information to be gleaned and I need a check let me know)
I'll give the original back to Usul and then pulling out my lute will play a little ditty about Myrtle and Crush:
"Crazy smelly lady with her wears and her wares has a crush on an orc who just doesn't cares.
She tries to play coy saying he's just not her type, but then tosses and turns thinking of him all night..."
Performance: 15
(OK, not my best song, but hey, it it's brand new. I'll have to polish it up a bit :)
Crush would collapse in his pile of furs in the corner and listen to the song Veryes was playing. "Crush like song cause song true!" The orc would shout as he holds his hand up in the air and pretends to direct an imaginary band that is obviously not playing anything at all close to the halflings song based on his motions. At the sound of his voice a stampede of small children would once again flock to the orc. Crush would try his hardest to act uninterested but would eventually start tossing the children in the air and allowing them to climb all over him like a large green playtoy. "Crush go keg store after rest!" the orc would say from under the pile of giggling children.
Usul will curl up under his normal table, though this time lure Muad over with him to all sleep together. The dog being probably slightly larger than him, he'll be quite warm ^^ He'll also pull Dib (pet mouse) out from his pocket, get a couple small bits of cheese from the kitchen for him, again, introduce the mouse to the dog, and get his rest.
(Is there anything Sen could do to earn some money, instead of taking a rest? He literally has no money, but could help Mother and Father, or go back to the market and attempt to perform illusions for passers-by?)
The party settles in to rest before going out later that night. With the exception of Sen, who returns to the market and is able to earn 1 gold, 25 silver, and 129 copper pieces doing magic for passersby. His magical affinity earns him a shift working at the potion dealer that Aria spoke with earlier, where he is able to earn another 6 gold for his trouble.
Aria used to only resting at small intervals is more restless than tired but decides to go back to her corner of the Saving Point. She sits down and just leans against her corner keeping her eyes fixated on the entrance as always. She carefully places the tracer fletchings on some of her arrows and seems to get lost in her own thoughts... This Anna is starting to remind me a lot of myself.... Content that nothing crazy is going to pop off in the Saving Point... she rests.

Sen returns to the Saving Point, tired but no longer penniless, as the others awaken from their rest. He sits quietly as the group comes together, waiting to get a sense of what the plan might be.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((jump ahead to evening?))
((Depending on time, and if others are sleeping, Usul would give Muad a couple bones and go out on the streets to use his little bit of magic (prestidigitation) to distract passers-by while he tries to lighten their pockets - PERCEPTION6; SLIGHT OF HAND13))
(obviously she is in the undermountain. We better head there now!)
((**** it. I'm in~ - Usul dives down the Yawning Portal))

(now to convince the whole party.. and the entire game goes off the rails and turns into the mad mage campain lol.)
OOC: I guess the options we have that make sense are:
- Try to track down her supposedly rich/influential family - do we believe they exist?
- Try to track down our employer (big armour guy) - do we know where he is?
- Ask other contacts we have - Mother and Father? Anyone have other contacts from their background?
- Jump down a magic portal to certain doom - wheeee!
- Anything else?
(I think the armored guy told us where she would be. I wouldn't be surprised if he knows her rich parents)

Usul will first ask Father "uh.. Pa... Who was it Anna might be trying to prove herself to again?"
((Those both sound like good leads~ I'm leaning towards the Keg, as it's more for people who may have actually been down. Other thoughts?))

"Ohh, a crush on a Crush. She thinks he's divine.
But a crush on a Crush is wasting her time"
