Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
Galius looks somewhere between Tilda Swinton in Constantine (Gabriel) and Heath Ledger in A Knight’s Tale (William Thatcher).
He is a college of glamour bard which I have tweaked just a bit to suit the fluff of his aasimar heritage.
I had planned on him being a bard playing the role of cleric with a few other things picked up just to play that angelic herald role to the hilt. I’m pretty sure you can look at character sheets from the campaign page if you’re curious
Hey guys as a point, in my opinion, posting a lot of 'thoughts' in the game from your character or passages of non-verbal or physical actions that we would have no knowledge about with an insight roll or witnessing with our PCs is really doing us a disservice. We can't tell your thoughts, right? We would never be able to figure out inner dialog or thoughts and it makes metagaming dangerously easy because you're posting thoughts, not actions or dialog wanting us to know stuff about your PC that's got nothing to do with your PCs words or actions or appearance. How would my PC learn all this stuff? Metagaming happens regardless for some but trying to keep what your PC is doing/saying separate from what your PC is thinking just to make a good story because your typing is making me concerned with moving forward. I mean I really want to write A LOT of stuff about my PCs thoughts about everyone but unless you're reading them how would you know? A particular expression, tattered or fine clothes, or describing a tone of voice can give clues to 'inner' fluff. PbP is different in that respect I think. Am I alone in this?
I think expressing certain thoughts are alright as long as the reading party doesn't overstep the bounds of inner monologue. This is a shared story experience, so there's different levels of reception to everything. If you want someone to understand a character's struggles, include their thoughts and feelings. If you want to build suspense or mystery, hint at details and let the others either follow along or pass over them entirely.

Oh, I think calling particular poster out is crass. I do get what Barlow is saying but if you're going to inner monologue your way through an entire story what's the point? Posting very little actual dialog it's going to get confusing. In my experience, however, if you're someone who is posts a lot of inner dialog even for the benefit of the DM it's going to catch up later when you've got a set expectation of how the party reacts or treats your PC based on what you've 'said' vs. what your inner thoughts were about it. Comes back to does my PC know this or is it player knowledge which everyone should be able to mange within reason playing this game. Granted a certain degree of that already happens but PbP a lot of confusion could be avoided by just posting perceptible things more versus a large amount of inner dialog. I mean hide things sure and be deceptive too if you'd like that's a big part of some people's backstory but it just gets confusing if you talk a lot 'in your head' versus if your PC is an actual chatter box.
This is more pre-emptive than cause based was my point if I wasn't clear.
I don't see it as too much of a big deal. Just handle the meta and don't act on it. I post specific player knowledge in spoilers, but absolutely expect curiosity to push all players into reading what is meant for just one. This is one of the reasons I like people to post dialogue in colour, as it's easier to separate what others do and do not know.
Don't get hung up on it.

Posting on mobile 90% of the time makes colors and other html extras a challenge. Just thought I'd offer an opinion/observation on PbP having played (see my post count) the most out of everyone here as a player and DM.

Asking for clarity not restrictions but sure. Everyone's going to post/react/read however they're going to in the end. I just wanted my concern heard/seen and hoping for the best possible outcome!

I found out (during applying for this game actually) that turning your phone sideways let’s you access the full set of tools for things like font colors etc. It helped and isn’t too difficult. I’m only on mobile, so it’s good info to have. I had no idea that’s all it took lol
I know that trick. Not to sound like I'm whinging on but my phone's screen isn't terribly large so flipping it and trying to highlight or format while typing is extremely hard because it usually makes the visible space very small and adds to mistakes. Unlike turning it to post a pick or roll which is fairly easy but still awkward.

Hey Laser would you say Arc gets the nuances of human expression and emotion or are you playing him as if he doesn't? Also I'm curious to know if you're not going to have him feel pain how are you going to navigate damage. I've only ever DM'd NPC warforges so not really a three dimenional characters kinda like metal bad guy or guard. Ha!

I'm playing Arc as a very aware Forged. He is able to understand much of the nuances of human expression and emotion and, as much as his forged body will allow, he can express himself very well.
The "no pain" thing is just a gimmick for me to play off of and shouldn't effect his abilities or disabilities when he takes damage. He just doesn't 'feel' it the same way other races do. He is still slowed or incapacitated or whatever when appropriate.
I always think of the painless automoton like in Terminator when they suffer damage to sensory controls and their POV gets fuzzy, shorts out, or crashes. While they can't register the sensation of pain, they definitely can register physical damage to their being.

I find that too many restrictions can inhibit an ongoing interest, so we'll keep it fast and loose with the rule of cool in mind.

See I would think more Android via Detroit Become human where pain is a thing and fear of it makes a PC act according to it. Interesting take tho!
Also Az isn't necessarily a chatter box but if talking needs to happen to get things moving she'll become a Velma for sure!
