Moving out of the shrine you check a couple buildings just north of the shrine. You find one that doesn't look disturbed and that you could probably safely spend the night.
"Hey, let's look over the edge and see the burning lake! I need a good look to describe it to the folks back home, who have never seen a lake of fire before. Also, I thought I saw a building stranded in the center of it - wouldn't mind getting a look at that area, too - maybe see if there's a way to it short of flying." Kirinar offers to head due east from their current position to look into the chasm. From there, recommend heading north, along the western bank of the river, looking for a place to cross over to the eastern side of the city.
Looking over the edge you see tumbledown ruins cling to the lip of a rift overlooking a lake of bubbling lava. Out in the lava lake a column of rock rises 200 feet above the lava. A walled ruin overgrown with palms perches on the summit. What looks to be a shrine perches on a pinnacle of the rock high above the great rift.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Keyleth focuses the lenses on her eagle eye goggles, and squints toward the shrine, attempting to find any indication of a way up, or markings that would indicate whose shrine it might be, etc.
"It looks like the north side of the rift the column of rock that holds the shrine is quite close to the edge of the rift," Keyleth says, sounding oddly as though she were not speaking in her own words. "Maybe if we head to that side we could get a rope across..."
You make your way north along the edge of the rift and eventually come across the river that flows into the rift. Steam rolls high in the sky as the cold water his the lava and boils away. Ahead you see that a fallen tree bridges the river. Its trunk is wider than a man and stretches more than 100 feet. On both banks lie ruined buildings.
"Looks like a good place to be ambushed. Still, the best way across for a long way, I'm sure. Guess it's ranged weapons at the ready - although I can lead the way with my shield and help block any attacks..." the fighter offers to the group, looking across the river at the buildings on the far side.
"We should anchor a rope to the cliff before we cross. We definitely do not want to slip on our way down," Keyleth says, beginning to dig through her pack for rope and pitons.
When the group is ready and tied, Kirinar will step on the log with Ransyl, shields and weapons in hand. "Stay close. Heads up. Move with a purpose. Ready?"
As you reach the log you find that it is large enough that 2 people could pass each other safely while crossing, but not wide enough to fight side by side on it.
As you begin to make your way across Kirinar rolls perception with advantage.
“Yes, indeed,” Ransyl chews on some jerky, “Let’s continue on.”
Where do you wish to go next?

“That is indeed like nothing I’ve seen before. How would we get across?”

Dr A turns to Keyleth "ahbut my eyes aren't as good as they used to be! Can you make out any details on the shrine?"

Taking a closer look you can see that on the north side of the rift the column of rock that holds the shrine is quite close to the edge of the rift.
Are you talking about area 6 on the map?
Area 6 would be where the shrine is. Just north of that the gap between the edge of the rift (lava area) and the shrine area is not very wide.

“Right, then.” Ransyl stows his axe and readies his shield and spear. “I can help protect another, he raises up his shield.
Can Dr A tell (Perception roll = 16) if there is something different about Keyleth

OoC: That was just a little fourth-wall-joke, since Keyleth was using the DM's words verbatim :-)
