Dr A moves to a point behind Kirinar and taps him on the shoulder then taps the side of his own head, He then uses the Helm of Telepathy to think a message at Kirinar along the lines of "Issar seems to be worried about somebody called Ras Nsi."
As all of the conversations, whether aloud or in his head, happen, Kirinar tries to keep his eyes on Issar and the boy. "Well, we're here seeking a cure to a magical sickness affecting many people all over the world. What are you doing here? How long have you been down here? Anything you can tell us about the slavemaster, or those guards over there? How about what's behind those doors?"
"I can tell you about most of this place. These yuan-ti serve a powerful master though I have never seen him. We are slaves and we have been here for several months. We are supposed to be digging out these rooms to expand but all of our tools are broken so work is very slow. I don't know anything about any magical sickness though."
At these words Issar puts his mirror down and approaches you.
"What do say about a magical sickness? What do you mean?"
Sorry, I seemed to have lost track and didn't realize you had posted a response
Kirinar tenses as the yuan-ti approaches, holding his weapon ready and looking to his more conversationally-gifted colleagues to explain to the creature why they were in this land...
Dr A steps forward bows and sticks out a scaly paw "Dr Arbutaveyu at your service. I am a researcher from the Great Library of Candlekeep but you may not know where that is. Suffice to say but it is a long way form here. I came here to here improve my understanding of the ancient cultures of this place but have heard of some sort of magical sickness that is affecting the inhabitants. Do you know of any such sickness where some people, and only some people, often leaders in society and older people seem for an unknown reason to get weaker and weaker until the eventually die. Have you see or heard of this sickness among your people?" He pauses "myself and my other researchers would be very concerned if this sickness got off this island!"
Issar leads you through some rooms and hallways. One of the broodguards falls in behind you as you move through the rooms.
The first room looks like a storeroom (13). Stacks of sturdy wood crates, bundles of cloth, and clay amphorae litter the floor. From there a few hallways go in different direction but you don't see much before passing through a very large room (9). An underground cathedral opens before you. At one end, a sculptured balcony perches atop five rearing stone serpents. Blood dribbling from the serpents’ jaws falls into a semicircular basin, and from there flows along a sloped trough into a wide stone bowl set into the floor. South of the bowl is a mezzanine, prominently situated atop which is a cauldron of steaming broth that exudes fleshy odors. To the west, a huge gong carved with snake patterns stands on a second balcony.
Going though a set of double doors you follow a hallway and end up in what looks to be a throne room (11). Four pillars support the vaulted ceiling, and steps ascend to an iron throne carved in the likeness of a hydra. Painted on the wall behind it is a large blue triangle. To the south, an engraved stone disk is set into the floor of an alcove. A ten-foot-wide opening in the east wall leads to a flooded cave.
Up on the throne is a large yuan-ti.
He looks down on Issar as you are led into the room
"And what is this Issar?" He asks, contempt in his voice.
"Master, these people came through the cavern and claim to seek how to stop a magical sickness. I thought they may have information you seek."
The large yuan-ti turns his attention to you.
"So what is it that you are doing in my domain? Answer quickly or I will have you destroyed! I am Ras Nsi and I rule here."
What if anything does Dr A recall of Ras Nsi (History = 14)
Ras Nsi was once a Chultan paladin, a Chosen of Ubtao and sworn protector of the city of Mezro. He betrayed his oaths and was banished from the city. Becoming a vengeful warlord, Ras Nsi attempted to conquer Mezro with an undead army but was defeated. Rather than seek redemption, he sought revenge and was stripped of his god-given powers. The undead horde, no longer under his control, spread throughout the jungles of Chult.
Dr A thinks to himself "this could be going into a den of iniquity but needs be" as once again he uses the Helm of Telepathy to see if he can determine what Ras is thinking/planning.
Dr A initially thinks Ras Nsi is possibly undead but then realizes he is bandaged up much like their patron who sent them on this initial quest was. He may be suffering the same way she was and is under the curse and is also dieing.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dr A carefully approaches Ras Nsi he bows and introduces himself “my name is Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai, which in my language means Seeker of Knowledge, but nearly everybody calls me Dr Ahbutaveyu. I’m not really sure why? To cut a long story short I am a researcher affiliated with the Great Library of Candlekeep in the Forgotten Realms. I have long studied this wonderous land of Chult and have heard stories of you my lord but never your side of the story.” He pauses “but I digress we were talking about the mysterious illness that seems to be striking down the leaders of society! We do not kbnow how or why this disease spreads but my colleagues and I are calling it kovidnaɪntin” He holds out a claw as he approaches closer to Ras Nsi “may I?”
Assuming that Ras Nsi does not object he takes Ras Nsi’s hand in his and feels around on his wrist; trying to look like he knows what he is doing (Medicine Check = 7 ). After feeling Ras Nsi’s pulse he continues “hmm, ahbutaveyu ever suffered a traumatic event in your past, perhaps where you approached the very doors of death? For it looks to me like you may be suffering from this mysterious illness. For reasons unknown to me, and my fellow researchers, it seems to affect those who have passed but have been called back or approached the doors of death.”
He looks around to everyone in the court "Leave me with these guests, I wish to speak with them alone."
Issar and any others leave and soon you are alone.
"Indeed, I have been raised from the dead in the past, and now I am weakened, though I still have much power if you think you can over power me. My priests cannot heal me now. What do you know of this sickness? Have you found a cure or a source?"
As far as any of you can tell Issar and the boy are not communicating in any way.

He looks you over for a moment and then beckons you to follow him.
"Come, I will take you to Ras Nsi. He will be interested in this"
He then turns to the door to the north expecting you to follow him.
DR A turns to the others "shall we?" he asks.

Kirinar will take the lead, looking for a trap or falling nets or some other trick to ensnare them! (No, he's not very trusting right now...)

The surface thoughts of Ras Nsi is that the fool Issen better not be wasting his time. There is a hint of curiosity on what you may know as well.
In the picture Ras Nsi looks like some form of undead. Is that the case? Do you need a perception roll from Dr A21
