After gleaning what information she can Martina will spend the rest of the evening with her family and when they go home to take put her nephew to bed she stays and sings mournful songs until much too late, makes out with some people she shouldn't then wanders home alone flopping down in the bed that she shares with her younger sister and passing out even as her sister awakens and chastens her for being out so late and for getting so drunk.
Enzo spends sometime feasting with those at the party, before heading home and having a nice goodbye talk with his brother. Heading to bed and reminiscing over his life up to that point.
You all eventually awake the next day. Though it's dark, as always, you can tell from candles places throughout the town that it is just before the first meal. Your immediate family and a few townsfolk are here to see you off, and you get solemn goodbyes from the people you pass (Though a couple of dwarves give Martina awkward glances. She can't quite remember if she encountered them last night.) You head to towns the main exit. The heavy iron portcullis crashes to the ground behind you, and you can't help but wonder what will lie ahead.
(Not required reading) Time: There is no sun or stars, and no seasons to measure time. Candles made of rendered fat (Better to not know where it came from) are marked with lines, so as they burn they mark the passage of hours.
OOC: I'm assuming your heading to the great rift, because that's what it sounded like you agreed on. if I'm wrong, correct me.
The caves here move sharply up and down, and you're nearing the section where you know that the cave will be too steep to walk, and you'll have to lower yourselves down to the next stage of the tunnel. You occasionally hear sounds in the darkness, varying in volume and pitch. At least you think you do...
If'n y' like, I can draw a light rune on the helm or shield of whomever takes the lead, presumably not me'self on account of me shoddy leathers, but...
In the known passages where the group feels more at ease, Martina will play her lute and sing a marching song.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Cobalt enjoys the music, tapping his scale mail along with the rhythm. As they approach the steep drop, he'll speak up.
"I'll go ahead. I know these tunnels fairly well, and those noises in the dark are making me feel overly-cautious. Lower me down, I'll have a quick look around and report back."
Cobalt will check around the area for tracks and danger, whilst attempting to remain hidden. He won't go too far, remaining in shouting distance at least as he searches the tunnels.

[OoC]: Since this is my favoured terrain, I'm posting the rules again in the spoiler below as a reminder :)
You have a favoured terrain type. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for proficient skills when you make an INT or WIS check related to it. While travelling for an hour or more in your chosen terrain, difficult terrain doesn’t slow your group’s travel, your group can’t become lost except by magical means, you remain alert to danger even when you are engaged in another activity, you can move stealthily at a normal pace (while alone), you find twice as much food while foraging, and while tracking creatures, you learn the exact number, sizes, and how long ago they passed through the area.

You work together to lower Cobalt down about 50'. He slowly moves out of sight, almost fading into the form of the cave.
Cobalt:
The cave flattens out here, and you can creep along relatively unhindered. There are a few disturbances in the dust and rocks along the bottom of the caves. It looks like three dwarves of comparatively large stature were moving in the direction of Craggsdeep dragging something heavy. These tracks are old, and it would be safe to assume it was a hunting party returning. Your attention is drawn away from this however as you can hear muffled footsteps in the distance and then the quiet of the caves is disturbed by a scream.

Cobalt unties the rope from his waist, and gives three sharp tugs to signal danger. He'll then take cover behind a rock formation and aim his crossbow down the tunnel until the rest of the party can join him, preparing to fire at any dangerous intruders.

You can all see a flicker of light growing brighter at the bend in the tunnel ahead, but just as you ready yourselves to face whatever is on the other end of it, it stops. It begins to grow dimmer and then quickly fades. The tunnel grows quiet again. The last echoes of the scream cut off suddenly.
Garkin:
There doesn't seem to be anything out to the range of your divine sense, and the place where the light was is about 120' away. If you want, you could get closer sp that that area is within the range of your divine sense.
Enzo loads and cocks his crossbow, readying 3 more shots, "You and me both buttons....let's go poke it with a stick." He gives a grin to the party, "Best deal with whatever it is now rather then later, no?"

"Aye, but be on guard." Cobalt says.
He looks at the darkening tunnel and slings his crossbow over his back, drawing his pair of handaxes. "Best to keep the light to a minimum, I reckon." He unhooks the shutter from the lantern hanging from his belt and covers the flame, not extinguishing it, but hiding the light.
Cobalt will take point, looking for more tracks or evidence of foul play as he does so.

Ready for whatever you might find, you move farther down the tunnel. As you round the bend all noise is silenced. Slumped in a quickly growing pool of blood on the floor is the broken body of a beheaded dwarf, a crossbow bolt with black fletchings sticking out of his back, and many more wounds on his body. This tunnel travels for another twenty feet and then begins to incline steeply but passably.
Cobalt:
There are many tracks here. Three belong to dwarves, while one of them appears to have been made by something much smaller, likely a Deep Gnome. A final set of tracks are spaced much wider but are still fairly small, they seem about the right size to belong to an Elf. This would be quite significant as there has been no contact with the drow since they sealed off their caverns several generations ago.
Garkin:
If there are beings here they are either mundane enough or well enough obscured that your divine sense can't detect them

Cobalt heads home to put Anya to bed and to try to get some sleep. As always, his nightmares make it difficult.

Oh yeah, if there are songs that the others clearly know and/or enjoy Martina will lean into those more.
