Ilena watches curiously as Hildigrim works his magic on the lock. She waits patiently, then peers around the door jamb, her eyes going wide when she sees the kenku. She freezes not so much out of surprise, but more not knowing what she should be doing in this situation.

OOC: This situation is so far beyond what Ilena knows that she is watching her companions to see what she should be doing. If the kenku appear to be aggressive she will attack but trying to do subdual damage rather than trying to hurt them badly.
Seeing Hildigrim draw sets Ilena on edge and she take a fighting stance frantically looking between her allies and the kenku.

Jorin draw his twin battleaxes and follows Hildi into the room as the halfling draws, and then fires his bow. Seeing the arrow fly wide, and Hildi duck back out of the door, Jorin adapts a wide stance, axes held wide, and roars, "The next one will not miss! What are you doing in here?" Intimidation: 23
Action: Ready an attack, if the Kenku advance on him, he will attack with the battleaxe once they get within his reach

Hildi opens the door quietly, right into the lit room, where five Kenku blink at him, surprised. The party holds. The Kenkus hold. Then Hildi steps in, knocks an arrow and lets it fly, and hustles behind the door he just opened. Right behind him, Drusk charges into the room, slowing to keep his wits about him and dodge any incoming attacks. (As for figuring out what they were doing, he’s not sure… probably standing around in a warehouse with a bunch of dead bodies.)
The arrow flies wide and sticks into a crate (7) with a loud “thock!” as Pascal steps up to the doorway, his throat coruscating with chaotic, magical energy, and Jorin steps inside, brandishing his twin battle-axes and roaring "The next one will not miss! What are you doing in here?" The Kenku look at one another, and Kenku3 says, in the gruff voice of a burly man, “Leave nobody alive!” and they charge!

The Kenku pull out short swords and charge at the party! Pascal, ready for this, rumbles and lets loose a ball of pure energy that coalesces into… fire! It hits Kenku2 (13), the flames explode around him (15 dmg) and he crumples to the ground, burning.
“Pardon me,” Ilena squeezes between Pascal and the open door, running lightly over to the side, meeting Kenku5 as it charges, swinging and missing once (11), then connecting dead-on with the second hit (25), a solid strike to its long beak (6 dmg). It thrusts its sword at Ilena (8), missing as she steps aside.
Kenku3 and Kenku4 charge Drusk, who dodges the swing from the first one (15) but distracted by that, he can’t avoid the swift strokes of the other (22&23) taking a serious gash (9 dmg)!
Kenku1, warbling some weird battle cry, charges at Jorin, who swings his readied axe, missing the frenzied bird man (9), the backswing opening him up to a strike from the creature's sword (16) that digs deep (8 dmg)!
End of round: No end of round actions.
Notes: Pascal’s readied action went off as soon as the Kenku got hostile. Jorin’s waited until he had a target (but missed). Drusk just got really unlucky with Kenku4, who rolled 22 and 23 on his Disadvantaged attack.
