Jorin says to Pascal, "Mayhap we make Hildi invisible with that scroll, then he could pick the door on the side? Could be a guard posted at the front door, so opening that one might be a bad idea." he pauses, "...although I kind of like the idea of throwing him up on the roof too..." he adds with a smile.
OOC: Hildigrim would suggest working on the small door off the back courtyard (less light), but he is also open to being tossed up on the roof. I'm going to go ahead and roll a few d20s and here are the appropriate modifiers (rolls hidden to keep from persuading anyone what they should suggest he do or in what order):
OOC > Nobody seems willing to just grab Hildi and toss him, so I'm going to go with Hildigrim's first suggestion, the small door off the back yard. Feel free to jump in with a grab and toss if you prefer!
The group crosses through the edge of the lamplight on the north end of the street, and then quietly down the steps to the yard. The gate to the yard is unlocked, and opens, not quite soundlessly, but it was not too loud. Hildigrim approaches the door to the side of the warehouse.
Everyone please roll a stealth roll (Hildi got a 12+3+3=18). Just don't fail it badly!

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The more he thinks about it, the more he likes the idea. Even if there is not way in from the roof, Hildi could just shimmy down to the back door, or any door of his choosing, and either way, Jorin and Pascal get to toss him up in a roof!
Jorin and Pascal provide a platform for each if Hildi's feet and then piston thier arms, vaulting him up into the air.

As Drusk and Ilena prepare to go around the building, Jorin and Pascal pick a willing Hildigrim up, and approaching the building, heave the halfling up onto the roof. He barely makes it, but his excellent acrobatics manage to land him on his feet.
With his (previously rolled) stealthiness, Hildi manages to get a good look at the roof. There are no entries up here. The roof is made of overlapping wooden plank shingles. What are you doing up there now, Hildi?
Hildigrim motions for Jorin to wait for him there and surveys the neighborhood from the roof to make sure there isn't anything of note: mainly anyone approaching or anyone watching the building. After that, he'll return and hop down hopefully into Jorin's waiting arms to report anything he saw and then to head around to the small door off the courtyard.
OOC > Nah, I'll use the previous ones, you're good. I'll basically re-post the original post, with "Stealth" results. :)
Now the group crosses through the edge of the lamplight on the north end of the street, and then quietly down the steps to the yard. Jorin manages to slip and trip down the stairs, catching himself but not before setting off a yowling cat and some birds it was stalking. Everyone freezes for a moment, but nothing happens, and you continue. The gate to the yard is unlocked, and opens, not quite soundlessly, but it was not too loud. Hildigrim approaches the door to the side of the warehouse.
While he unlocks the door, where do the rest of you go?

Ilena tries to keep one of the burlier folks between her and the doors, and the gate as well if possible, trying not to be the first one engaged if someone sneaks up on them.
Hildi successfully unlocks the door. Looking at the others, since nobody is moving, and Jorin is watching him expectantly, he opens it slowly.
The door opens onto a the main floor of a large warehouse, two stories tall, lit by a weak torch on one of the posts holding up a second floor balcony. Tables and chairs have been carelessly tossed across the floor. The corpses of a dozen men lie along the walls, their rapiers and daggers lying nearby. On the north side of the area, stairs rise to the open level above. Five short, avian creatures with long beaks and black feathers look over in surprise from where they stand in the middle of the warehouse. Each wears a hooded cloak and wields a shortsword.

Jorin will wait at the threshold and watch Hildi go in, then will do something depending on what the other side of the door looks like.
