Necey shrugs as her suggestion for a brief rest is dismissed and downs the potion Golver gave her. She picks up her bullseye lantern and happily follows along. She shines the light on the flipped-over boat. "Time for a little boat ride?"
"Anyone able to cast [spell]mending[\spell] on these boats... they are obviously not of dragonborn make.. I will tell you that much" Golver would say with a scoff and disapproving look at the old boats. "Maybe one of these patches have a nice boat...." The dragonborn would say as he opens his pack and rips one of the patches off of the robe that is wadded up inside.
(So Golver still has his window patch he has not used yet as well right? What do I need to roll again to try to get a boat?)

"So we have pair of boats to choose from to visit the strange folk having an island picnic" Caerlan looks carefully at the overturned boat, looking for signs of anything dangerous under, behind or nearby it.

Golver would allow a large smile to spread across his face as the patch turns into a fist full of gems. "This works too..." He would mutter aloud as he puts the gems in his coin pouch.

"I forget sometimes that you all do not have the same endurance as us dragonborn" Golver would say with a large grin. "I guess we can take a moment to rest here..." The dragonborn would mention as he moves to the waterlogged boat. he would then try to finish dragging it out of the water and tip it on to its side to empty it out before inspecting it for leaks and holes.

"If we are all playing with our robes, let's see what I get" 73 "What the hells!" Caerlan exclaims as he pulls out a really long ladder whcih he quickly realises he can't hold and has to lay down on the beach quickly. "I suppose if we get any more of these we could make a bridge, but I think we should try this boat, seems ok to me." he says pointing at the boat he looked over earlier "But first let's just sit and catch our breath.
Kat carefully places the window a fair distance from the others, pulls a dagger patch off of her robe, and starts smashing up the window for parts, humming as she uses a rock to file off the sharpest corners of glass and puts them in a pocket, followed by various pieces of wood.
Hit Die: 8
OOC: AA, do you want me to make a check for smashing the window up?
Edit: Looks like Kat was too busy smashing the window to get much proper rest, lol
OOC: Technically a short rest means: "A short rest is a period of downtime, at least 1 hour long, during which a character does nothing more strenuous than eating, drinking, reading, and tending to wounds." So rolling checks and digging in your robe although not seriously strenuous goes a little against the tenants of "rest". I'll answer your questions but in future rest means that. Conversations and HP rolling only.
Golver easily pulls the boat out but once he's flipped it over and douses the lantern attached into the water. Once on its back he can see it would take days pitch tarrring the bottom and patience to make it seaworthy again. No amount of mending will help. It will float as it was but will require bailing much like the other boat.
Kat give me a STR check please.

"Umm...guys?" Kat says nervously, shifting her feet. "There's a table and chairs out on the island, and...I think there are people in them?"

Mending can only fix small things not several holes in the boat. Golver needs to roll 69-75 for a 12 seater rowboat.
To Caerlan there doesn't seem to be anything or anyone around the overturned boat.

(If each hole is.smaller than 1ft I think that the holes could be repaired one at a time though. Rolling for stuff! 27)
OOC: I'm telling you no mending won't work.

(OOC: books, Just a reminder to update your HP to 11, and I'd suggest taking that 8 from the health pot Caerlan gave you since we're not resting.)
"Oh, good idea. I'm going to try too!" At Golver's suggestion, Neecy reaches into a pocket and pulls a patch loose from her Robe of Useful Items.

"Dangit! Just a big bag of gold!"
OOC: Right, sorry! Been a busy day today, we had it off and I was running around town trying to get my license.
Kat grins. "I like this idea!" She grabs a random patch herself.

OOC: I'm fine with a short rest, it's just not in Kat's nature to stop, like ever, which is why she said she wanted to keep going.
Kat makes a face at the window. "Well...that is enormous and completely unuseful. Ooh, maybe I could break it into parts!"
