OCC: Do the pillars give full or 3/4 cover? What point was the "target" of the grenade? Nat, Gimble and Ret are not all within 5 of any particular square.
Duc, still crouching down behind the fallen pillar with two torches lit throws one of them into the open space between two of the pillars (approximately d8) and ducks back down rapier out and the other torch in her other hand.

That's my fault I got it on my head the boys were M11-13. I am a dummy. Nat was at H11. I'll say the garnade (homebrew like hand mortar) uses a range attack to hit at M12 which the 20 'hit' then exploded 5ft cube effect down for the fire damage.
Retiog begins to rummage through the unconscious man's pockets, looking for the stone. "This thing is already more trouble than its worth," he growls to himself.
Retiog picks Gimble back up and drags him near the edge of the pit (N10), then steps in front of the unconscious man (M10). "Well I have no idea where he's hiding the damn thing."
Nat looks over to Retiog near the pit. Back down, isit?, he asks, trying to make his voice loud enough to reach the others but not the assassins. Seems good. He casts Cure Wounds on himself (first level) for 8 hit points, and then moves to the recently vacated M12 and crouches down. If that's the plan, lemme know.
"Come out, come out where ever you are..." Assassin 3 calls out in his throaty voice chuckling next the hooded figure finally visible near E7. "Don't make us have to search your bodies," they add with a groan. "Hand over the stone," they shout. Holding their attack an other alchemists grenade in their hand.

ROUND 3
Assassin 1 stands from E6 with their crossbow holding their attack for Assassin 3s order to shoot.
Retiog picks Gimble back up and drags him near the edge of the pit (N10), then steps in front of the unconscious man (M10). "Well I have no idea where he's hiding the damn thing."
OOC: To clarify, this was shouted loud enough for the assassins to hear.
"Let's be reasonable, here, no need for people to get killed, I'm more than happy to do a deal, but you have to listen to my friend over there - if he can't find it then you get nothing, give him a chance."
Dodge as action.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Cover typically grants +2/+5 AC depending on the level of cover, on top of the disadvantage for dodge... Ret is poisoned.
Retiog shrugs in resignation. "That poison on your weapons has made me a little less sharp, but I'll check again.... Probably best for you to come check for yourself." The half-orc kneels down to check Gimble's belongings again.
Nat looks around, unable to think of anything to do, wondering what will come up from the pit. So, this stone, right? he calls to the assassins. That's something your masters sent you to fetch for them, I'm guessing. You even know what it is?

Investigation needed? 1
(More pending search outcome for the stone...)
Retiog finds Gimble's gear: a belt with small colorful vials, a blundebuss on his hip, and three daggers but not the stone.
