Vaken dons the climbing gear, grabs the rope, and takes a deep breath to center himself. Then, with a nod to Kay, he starts his climb.
'Putting on the climbing gear and taking advantage of sail monkey's directions from below and the ships mage's assistance on the ropes from above, Vaken manages a relatively smooth and successful ascent up the slick and dangerous slope. Freeing himself from the harness, gloves and boots, the relieved goliath tosses them down below to Kay, who quickly dons the equipment before making short work of the climb herself. Virt smiles at you both arriving safely and asks with a worried glance down the Northern tunnel mouth in the chamber below,'
"Well done to ye both and glad I am to have ye both by me side again! I hope that the others won't be too long in the keepin'? I'll readily admit to havin' had me fill and more of this cold place. I long for a blue sky above me and a salty breeze in me face, I certainly do!"

Orlys, panting, barely notices the squabbling crew as his chest heaves and he comes to his senses. Finally, he focuses enough to get the gist of the argument. "Well, as none of ye are me officers, I'll be doing what ye came for, regardless. Wouldn't want the lass to have to return."
Then he will go back to the cavern with the golden stalactites, and warily navigate around the pit with the skeletal arms, to try to get to the mushrooms from the other end.
OOC > I recall that it was impossible to reach the mushrooms from the side we entered on.
'Walking warily with maul in hand back into the Northeastern chamber, Orlys notices again the pair of bony arms protruding from the square of webbing that coats the floor in here like thick grey mesh carpet. Examining the long row of densely packed golden-brown stone stalagmites, the long-armed bugbear sees no way through the long barrier to reach the mushrooms from the Eastern side, though looking across the web-covered floor, there appears to be nothing stopping Orlys or anyone else from walking across the tangled mass. Of course, the two skeletal hands waving near the centre of the strands seems to indicate that the floor is almost certainly not level everywhere below the webbing. While the animated bone arms are still causing the webbing to shift and move a little, fewer than a handful of tiny spiders seem to be moving amidst the strands, individually and to all appearances disinterested in your presence.'
[OOC] The skeletal hands are poking up through square 3/5. Orlys struck what he thought was solid ground at 4/6 when he squashed some of the tiny fey spiders earlier.

With that he just stands between the rope and entrance to were the mushrooms are, standing guard and waiting for Kestrell to return with the mushroom or scream as he died. Either one signaling time to climb. He just taps the book in the bag on his chest "Listen everyone up there - if something happens I'm going to tie the rope to the bag so you can get the book back. I want you to haul it up and return to the old woman with the book. Don't worry about the rest of us down here. Your safety is more important, Virt as the officer I expect you to ensure that the Captains request is carried out and that he gets his package in time for the voyage. That's only if something really bad happens though, I'm talking like Kestrell gets his head bitten off and I only have time for one thing."
'Virt nods down to A'ro in understanding and agreement, replying,'
"Oh, aye, master of sail. Worry not - these two fine sailors and I will do what needs doin'! Ye have me word on that. Just you and the others make sure that ye get yerselves back up here with a swiftness, so that we can all be doin' it together! I'd hate to be the only blue man aboard ship, after all."

'Kestrell breaths a sigh of relief.' "Very well then." 'And heads back into the cavern with the golden stalagtites, looking for a way to get to the mushrooms while avoiding the grasping hands of the skeleton.'
'*EDIT*': If there is no way to get through the stalagtites, Kestrell will investigate the webbing to see if it is large enough they can cut a passageway around the skeleton without freeing it.
'Studying the scene before him, Kestrell doubts the possibility of moving through the dense rows of stalagmites. Looking across the slightly shifting grey tangled carpet of webbing, the determind bard notices something that he didn't spot before - both the skeletal arms appear to have left hands at their ends. The observant navigator also spots the patch of crushed webbing where Orlys smashed and killed a handful of the tiny fey spiders with his maul strike earlier. Kneeling down near the carpet's edge, Kestrell cannot easily tell how thick it is or whether or not there is solid floor beneath the matt grey mass of strands.'

He just walks into the other chamber with Kestrell and Orlys looking at them "So what's the plan to get these damn mushrooms?" his attention turns to where the mushrooms are trying to judge how far out they might be.

'Looking throught the tightly packed row of sandstone coloured stalagmites, A'ro spots the mushrooms some distance away and impossible to reach by hand through the stalagmite barrier itself. The distance to the mushrooms from this side of the stony pillars would be over a dozen feet, though less than fifteen, the genasi estimates.'

A’ro takes his pack off for a second and pulls out some rope, he begins to tie off the end into a honda knot. His hands began to tie an overhand knot and pinch it so that the running end slides feely back and forth. He then for safety begins to tie an overhand knot to act as a stopper so that the rope’s end won’t slip. He quickly tests the rope and knot by placing it around his leg making sure that it works the way it is supposed to.
As soon as he ensures everything is in working order he just stands still concentrating as if cast his lightning lure spell, only this time it’s real rope. He begins to spin the end that he is trying to wrap around the base of the mushroom before yanking it close to him.
“Pray this works mates – I’ve never tried this with a mushroom before.” Is all he says before releasing the rope hoping it at least gets the mushroom in the center of the loop.

However, even once the persistant genasi gets the knot secure, there is just not enough room in a straight line across the considerable distance to get an unobstructed throw onto the mushrooms, with the looped end of the rope either bouncing off a stalagmite or getting snared on the tip of one.'

A’ro smacks his head watching effort as it hits him. “I’m a ****in’ idiot.” He says as he begins to wave his hand speaking in primordial as a spectral blue hand appears and moves to the mushroom.
”Lets see if this works.” He says as he tries to pluck the mushroom and bring it back.
[OOC]
Cast mage hand and move it to try and pick up the mushroom and bring it back.
Orlys will crouch down near the edge and poke at the skeleton hands with his maul and his long reach. Then he will try to swing and knock them apart.
'Reaching out to prod the skeletal hands only causes them to flail about more aggressively, one even managing to grasp the head of Orlys' maul, though the brawny bugbear has little difficulty in yanking his weapon free. While the goblinoid has to extend himself to do so, with his long reach he lines up a swing and after misses his first attempt, eventually *smashes* the grasping hands into yellow-white kindling, leaving little more than jagged bone nubs waving about in the web carpet's small breach. At the gangly bugbear's blow, the entire carpet shakes violently, though thankfully only a few scattering tiny fey spiders emerge this time. At a few other places, small bulges rise into the layer of strands from beneath, pushing upwards a few inches momentarily.. before settling back down to leave the tangled grey covering once again all-but flat.'
