While the others are joking about how baby goliaths are made Demetrio pulls out the arrow from his shoulder. He then proceeds to pull out a shiny piece of steel from his backpack.it seems to be reflective and he uses it as you would a mirror. It seems he is inspecting the wound and he says to the group.
hmm, I didn’t quite feel this earlier, I guess it was the intensity of the battle, but that ugly little goblin hit me good with that arrow. I really could use a break to tend to my wounds if you all would like to take a short rest. In he meantime maybe we can discuss our next move. We’re not even sure if Gundrem and Sildar are alive to pay us for this delivery. Maybe we should discuss if we want to finish delivering this payload or not.
I say we go somewhere we can't get ambushed so easily and make camp, maybe just a few hundred ft away form this place , those corpses will attract wild animals *points towards the horses*.
And i do not think our employers are dead, if they were i think they would be blocking the path along with their horses. I do not think goblins prefer human meat over horse meat, and even if they did i think they would've left drag marks.
(are there drag marks? ooc the text editing is bugged i had to change color like 7 times from green back to black , it kept going back to green and i can't get rid of it; i'll do both perception and investigation cuz i don't know which i should do )
i look for signs of something being dragged around where the horses are before we decide to leave
Soron, your quick investigation does show that the horses' saddlebags have been looted. On the ground right next to one is a map case, identical to the one that Gundren handed you back in Neverwinter. It's empty. You can see what appears to be drag marks, headed north towards the trail that you saw through Odinn's eyes.
The dead horses are blocking the trail. It would be difficult to maneuver the cart around them, but not impossible. You could probably move them as a group.
Hey guys, it looks like something got dragged from here north way . What do you want to do? move the horses , go a little further and then camp or get a short rest and follow the marks?
I think, Kylara starts, that Soron makes a good point and we should back around this corner from were we came from to stay out of sight of any possible attackers or travelers. She points in the direction back the way we had originally came from around the bend in the road.I think there was a pretty nice looking clearing back there, and we can use the extra daylight and time to move these horses to the side of the road, but I think we should just make camp for the night. Thus allowing a refresh on all spells to all casters fully, as well as an increase in healing for the injured party members.
A quick break to get my wind back would be appreciated. I would say that the goblins have a camp nearby, Gundren and Sildar May still be alive. I’d not want to be abandoned like that, I say we take the cart up the trail towards their camp. Leave it nearby, scout their positions and if a rescue is possible let’s do it. If not we take the provisions to Phandalin and we can come back for vengeance.
Steinarr probes at his shoulder and gives it a cursory roll. It looked worse than it was
There isn't really a clearing as such, but the wooded area you are travelling through is not very large; you can turn the cart around and drive the oxen out and back into grasslands in about ten minutes. You could then, if you wish, move the cart off the road and around the woods so it's hidden from travellers, yes. If you do that, the driver needs to make an Animal Handling check, as it means driving through difficult terrain.
Demetrio settles himself back in the cart. Getting ready to move it back to the main highway so the party can look for a safe spot to make camp for the night.
Soron and Demetrio, together you somehow manage to persuade the oxen to come off the trail and through some rather uneven grassland, curving round so that the cart is out of sight from the trail.
You can set up and make camp here. Setting up the camp only requires an hour or so, especially near woodland where there is plenty of firewood. Your rations don't need cooking but taste better warmed up.
You can start your rest immediately, and wake up during the night, or wait, spend the evening talking and doing other things, and rest later to wake up at dawn. Let me know, and also let me know if there's a different watch order.
After the camp is set , Soron goes to Demetrio and tells him: Hey, I appreciate what you did there and I wanted to let you know that if I can help you with anything I'll be glad to, I'm kinda like a walking library so... I think you know what I mean.
Soron goes a few feet away sits down takes a book out of his cloak and with a piece of charcoal start noting stuff.
I am happy to take the last watch. The transition from night to day is always soothing, it lets me reflect on Kelemvor’s role in guiding souls from the darkness of death to the light of the afterlife.
Steinarr sets out his bedroll and stretches out on it before starting to chew on his dinner
Soron, you've seen the odd temple to Kelemvor during your travels, enough to know that he's the God of Death to most humans and other non-elves. The elven Goddess of Death is Sehanine Moonbow, and you know a lot more about her.
Demetrio looks at Soron for a moment. Takes a deep breath. And gently says
you can help me by being more careful, I won’t always be around to save yer’ neck you know. The wild can be dangerous and deadly as I am sure your now aware of.
demetrio goes and sits down and takes a moment before he eats his ration.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kylara walks up and asks Solon with a smile, Would you mind if I took the first shift? knowing that he will say yes.She then moves over to Demetrio who is by the fire and starts to warm her food up, you can smell the odd fragrance of the herbs she uses as it is warmed. Kylara speaks quietly right before she gets up to leave to go to the other side of the cart. I need to talk to you about the person you had questions about previously, please come by my tent right after I finish my watch. She moves over to the other side of the cart and disappears with her food, then reappear empty handed (she set the food on a the sedge of the cart by the wheel). She takes out a very big iron pot from the back of the wagons supplies as well as what looks like a kettle and takes it back behind the cart. Everyone hears her cast a spell but nobody knows what it is (spoken in Druidic) until you start to hear slashing of water. You can hear a flint striking a few times and then begin to hear a small fire. She lets the fire heat the water while she watches it and she eats her dinner (you can just glimpse her vaguely through the cart and make most of this out by sound and shadows). She brings out a kettle with her after returning from the other side and sets it on a rock by the fire and says I made a relaxing tea that was thought to me by my master, it will help your injuries not be stiff in the morning, and relax any tension your muscles may have, it will not make you drowsy and is a bit sour. I added some berries to help with that, please enjoy it and put this (she gestures to the kettle) back in the wagon when you have all had your fill. She then smiles and tells to the group, I am going to take a bath before my watch, she looks at the group with her eyes starting to glow if I see anyone peeping in on me,she turns grinning mischievously and starts to walk away well....you better not let me catch you.She then returns to her hot bath and takes off her armor and clothing, laying them in a nice pile and washes herself. Once she is done she then washes her dirty cloths as well, returning in time for her watch for the night.

Cloudy, but with little or no chance of rain. Moderate temperatures, typical for a spring day.
