"I'm a local, but the fanciest city government building I've been in is a local precinct of the Watch where I collect bounty money," Briga says quietly. She fusses with her ill fitting cheaply made commoners clothes and becomes all too keenly aware of the glaive and bulging explorers pack she carries, and then gasps audibly, realizing she's wearing her tribal polar bear head cowl. She rips it off and shoves it quickly into her backpack, shaking out her blond hair and looking almost as scared and nervous as she did in the presence of the Mind Flayer and Intellect Devourer. "I'll try not to embarrass you guys. This is not my element."
"Thank you. How are we going to manage the mansion? And now that we have a place we will need protection. The Zent or the others are bound to want to take revenge. They won't let this slide I think."
Volo leads you into the chamber where sitting behind the desk is a tiefling woman. She looks up briefly and gestures for the group to come forward. "Volothamp Geddarm and company, I have been told you wish to see me regarding a deed transfer. May I see the deed?" She asks without looking towards the group. "Of course, Justice" Volo says as he pulls it out.
She skims it over and her eyes flash a purplish glow as she does so. "This all seems in order, then let us get the formalities out of the way so I can get back to my real work, shall we?" she says as she hands the deed back. "Of course, there is also the transfer fee to be paid," she says, looking at the group of you. Volo smiles and replies "That has been covered" and puts the coin pouch on the desk in front of the magistrate who puts the gold on some scales to check the weight and accepts the payment. She signals where it needs to be signed "and is this going to be joint ownership?" she asks the group of you impatiently.
Briga just nods, conspicuously silent in what she perceives to be a formal environment. When it comes her turn to sign, she signs 'Briga' and then hesitates to write her family name. To her friends, she mutters, "I've been working on a new last name I can be proud of. I guess it's time to commit." With a shaky hand, the signs 'Briga Bruin.' "It's an old term for bear that some of the elders in Rheged used now and then."
"Well, I'll take that as done," the magistrate says and signs the witness section of the document. "The house is officially yours, now I have other appointments to attend to, so you may excuse yourself," she says, and gets up from the desk to meet her next appointment.
"Time to go make ourselves at home," Briga suggests to her allies. "Thank you, madame magistrate." Briga executes an awkward series of respectful gestures, a curtsy, a bow, and a salute, and then shuffles out, bumping her glaive against the door frame before turning sideways to exit without further property damage.
[OOC: Sorry, don't have time to do this in character at the moment and it's just basically housekeeping stuff.]
Tyrus will give a respectful nod to the magistrate and then head outside to collect his mule and the rest of his belongings. He will then follow the others back to the manor, with a minor detour to leave his mule, Wilberforce, at the nearest public stables. [OOC: DM, I will need a cost per day for this please, but I have taken a gold piece off my sheet for starters.]
As they are walking, he will give Arlon four gold pieces and asks for 6 silver pieces in change. He will explain that this is Arlon's share from the sale of the weapons Tyrus collected off the enemies they slew in the sewers.

Briga seems relieved to be out in the open air of Waterdeep again, still oblivious to the cold she takes a deep breath, stretches her arms and spins. "Whew, that's over. I feel liberated. I need to learn to freak out less in formal settings. I'm still to paranoid everyone's going to get all judgy about the northern savage scuffing up their nice flooring or something. Anyway, yeah, Volo, you should tag along if you like. Either way, I'm excited to check out our new place!"
"Well, I can't say no to checking out what you think of the place first hand, and you can tell me what your plans are," Volo replies with a smile.
And so you head back to your new property, which is now rightfully yours. And for a time in what feels like forever, but only really been a couple of days, you find yourselves with a moment to, well, yourselves, plus Volo, of course. But there isn't some mission to chase or someone's problem to solve.
[OOC: If it isn't obvious, giving you guys some downtime to do some things - you have effectively 20 days of downtime at this point to do what you wish - just let me know. We're going to be jumping forward two tendays once everyone has decided what they want to do in that time off - and feel free for any conversations you want with other party members. I'll be responding as normal to anything you need, and to give results on checks etc that are essential, so - The Abandoned Dragons, what would you all like to do?]
The first thing that Tyrus does is move all his equipment into whatever room that has a fireplace in it that hasn't already been claimed. [OOC: DM, I have no idea which this might be, any suggestions?]
The second thing he does is get out his Tinker's Toolkit and make sure the whole property can be secured by inspecting all the locks and bolts, doing any maintenance on them so they all work properly, and fixing any of them that are broken. If there are any weaknesses in the security of the building, he will try to modify the poor locking mechanisms concerned using his skills so as to make them harder for anyone to break in.
The third item on his home security list is to try to install an alarm system using cord and bells so that, even if someone does get in, the people inside will be warned that they have.
He does this using his Tinker's Tools and his knowledge as an artisan of the Guild of Armourers, Locksmiths and Finesmiths. He does this because he knows the group has possibly made enemies in the Xanathar Thieves Guild and doesn't want to get his brain eaten in his sleep.
[OOC: DM, Do you want a roll/s, and can you give me a cost estimate?]

Griff want to learn the language of his future enemies, especially if they are going to find there way underground again. So he'd like to spend his downtime learning undercommon if he can find a teacher. Griffdar will spend any days he has free from lessons attempting to find a temple that worships bahamut and performing sacred rites, if he cannot find a teacher or a temple he will spend time carousing.

Arlon is going to see his master and upraise him of this new development in his life. He will follow this star and tell his master that for now, he will try his life at adventuring. Time for him to grow. If his master needs anything he will happily comply.
Once that is done he will go and claim a room at the new place. He is not picky about it as long as it has a bed and somewhere to store books.
He will then get to work on the tavern and try to find staff and prepare for a grand opening.
( Is everyone ok with making this a tavern ? or an Inn ? )
