Is the door we entered the 'barred' door or the unbarred door?
If it was the barred door, I would like to set the piece of wood on this side so once we shut it nobody can bar us in from this side.
If it is not the barred door, I would like to leave that door barred
- Talien
Also if this is our marching order and Arxius is a ranged attacker, she can move back and swap me places if we fall under attack (if we see it coming and it is not an ambush) I assume
{OOC - unless I'm misremembering (RebelScum and Dallirious can correct), they are both set up to more ranged. We've got Arx up on point b/c she has darkvision and is more perceptive than Alten. I also assume we'll have to call Rees up to check for traps, disarm, unlock, and other typical rogue stuff - probably pretty soon}

Right, I just wanted to clear that with the DM that once a fight ensues, she will be able to fall back and I could move up. If it is a 2 person wide walkway, then swapping locations some DM's allow and others don't if there is already 2 people in each rank.

The party barred the East door to the broken tower which leads to the courtyard & switchback stairs. I assumed you left that barred and left the rigging on the door you did not open (Northwestern door). So your leaving the broken tower room fortified until you say otherwise.
Theatre of the mind, so I’ll allow you to fan out/fall back/swap positions unless you are surprised, a trap triggers, or in circumstances where it wouldn’t make sense for you to be able to do that (i.e. a 5ft wide corridor, a crawspace, or tunnel, etc). Essentially if the space is big enough I’ll allow it.
You up for being on point with me? You want one of us to switch out with Rees or Talien?
"I've got this, leader," she says with a smirk. Finding enjoyment in teasing him again. Certainly she's not going to let him live down this misunderstanding.
Arxius moves into the hall carefully, her hand poised on her axe. Nothing about it is quite what she expects as her eyes scan the space. "Huh," she mutters as she reaches the door with the dragon head. "That seems ominous. And it appears to need a key, I don't suppose anyone has one?"
Moving forward, Rees takes a look at the lock and frowns. "Not sure why but I have a strange feeling about this lock...almost like a voice in the back of my head telling me there's more than meets the eye...Grom, you're familiar with magic are you not? Why don't you take a look at this?"
Grom cracks his nuckles, "Altight miss rees i will take a gander for u"
Grom will attempt to use his Arcana knowledge and inspect the door/lock.

You recall from your studies that there are ways to magically lock doors. You can tell this door has just such a magical enhancement. It not only has a mechanical lock, but an arcane lock spell cast on it as well. The Strength (Athletics) check to defeat the arcane lock is DC 30, and the Dexterity check to bypass the magical lock using thieves’ tools is DC 25. Casting a knock spell on the door suppresses the magical lock for 10 minutes, lowering the DCs by 10 during that time. The mechanical lock remains intact if the magical lock is bypassed, requiring another knock spell or the use of the key.
Rees, did you check it for traps? If someone took the time and trouble to magically seal a room, there is a decent chance that there is some kind of mundane trap as well.
Shrugs at her
If you think it is clear, you can try to get it open. Maybe we'll get lucky. Otherwise, it looks like we picked the wrong door to start the morning.

Talien will help anyone look around the room for anything else of interest as the door appears impassable currently. Possibly even clues to what lies beyond the door due to the
*note for Alten's notebook* Dragon head door so we can come back to it.
Rees will take a look around, check for traps, etc.

You find the room is relatively uninteresting with the exception of the dragon door. There is a significant amount of rubble on the southern side of the room where the wall partially collapsed. When you approach it for a better look you find a giant rat hiding from the party amidst the debris.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Assuming that when Rees finds the rat she's in melee range with it, she lets out a very undignified squeal and draws her shortsword and will attempt to stab it. "****in' rats!"
The lone giant rat darts around Rees (averting her blade), weaves through Talien’s legs as he swings his giant blade down and misses it, and heads straight toward Alten.
The arrow whistles through the air and strikes the giant rat in the back of the skull. But, the overgrown rodent continues to crawl forward with the arrow grating against the stone floor.
