Erik's stone strikes the gazer's body dead center, leaving a mean looking bruise on it's backside! The gazer yelps in pain, but hasn't stopped fleeing yet!
Reynard slides his rapier back into its scabbard. “Guess they know we’re coming then,” he grins, stepping aside to allow ranged attackers behind him a clearer shot.
(No ranged weapon equipped; not his swashbuckling style)
Soar says, "well that maybe could have gone better!" and throws her javelin at the screaming beastie. She also uses her full movement to run after it, grabbing another javelin from her back (and hoping to pick up the one she threw at the gazer).
The javelin strikes the gazer in the side, sticking in place! Not forceful enough to kill the gazer, the javelin still weighs it down enough that it can't fly properly, crashing into a wall before falling to the hard stone ground. The gazer is stuck on the ground by the weight of the javelin; it screams a litany of obscenities.
As Soar approaches, the gazer turns its eye-stalks to focus on her; it's eye-stalks glow with arcane energies, that shoot out at the paladin!
(Rolls to determine what kind of rays the gazer shot out: 4, 2)
Soar, make a DC 12 Wisdom check and a DC 12 Strength check.
Soar is filled with an intense sense of dread for the miniature eye tyrant as the first bolt of energy hits her; she doesn't have time to scream, though, before the second bolt sends her flying into the air, smack against a wall right above the sewer waters, into which she falls with a loud SPLASH. She takes 1 damage from the impact, and is definitely going to need a bath when this adventure is through.
The gazer is clearly pleased with itself, putting out a tiny guttural laugh as it watches.
Dwaye looks at the exploded gazer, shocked at what he did, before snapping back to reality and silently extending his hand towards Soar to help get her out
Soar stumbles to her feet. "Oh boy the armorers are not going to like the smell of this when I get back. I do NOT like that eyeball. But I took it down, you chuckleheads! BULLSEYE!"
She doesn't move closer to the gazer.
'....someone want to finish it off and silence it? I'll.... be hanging out over here until you do."
Edit: spoke too soon! Soar is very happy that the gazer got asploded. "Nice splatting! Maybe we should move along quick now, since whoever it is definitely knows we're coming. Anyone good at ferreting out traps?"
The party hurries on down the path marked by the yellow symbols; you reach a point where you are trudging through one foot deep sewer water.
The main sewer tunnel expands into a circular hub with a pair of arrow slits (Q2A and Q2B) carved into its outer walls, directly across from each other. Two passages continue on to the north and south. A stone door is set into the back wall of a stone ledge (Q1) to the west.
Kruk made no attempt to attack since the others seem to have easily handled it, stepping with note caution since the thing could have alerted other foes in the sewers.
You've walked for about five minutes since your encounter with the gazer. While sounds do echo a bit here, you don't think the sound would have carried this far.
That happened fast, Alton realizes with surprise. Seeing the gazer downed, he looks at his own hands. Did I hesitate?
”The clerics spoke about what was down here. They think there are monsters, or worse” he says.
The halfling trudges forward through the deepening muck. His boots keep most of the water out, and the vault of the ceiling seems high above. Seeing the door on the ledge, he starts moving toward it to look for anything interesting. “Now why would there be a door down here?”
He climbs out of the water onto the dry platform and investigates.
"....we're looking for a gangster or thieves hideout right? Holding an important person? And this is where the signs lead? So it seems like that's what this is? They might be, well, listening - so let's be quiet and quick. Anyone see any traps?"
(Did Neverember come with us? He said he wanted to help find Floon so assume so but he hasn't said much.)

Send help pleaseThe gazer literally. Explodes. (The poor thing only had 13 hitpoints total, lol.)
[Combat Over; someone should fish Soar out of the sewer waters.]

Dwaye, still plugging his nose, tries to look through Q2B and see if he can see anything happening.
[Do I roll perception, or insight? Or even investigation? 7 +1 if it's investigation, otherwise nothing]
